20 years before i even born! i wish i could go back that day with a time machine
In 1969 the big story was the Boeing 747 40 years later my late mother still thought that was a brand new thing whe bigger planes were already around.
1969 … “time machine to go back”?? My dad’s business was looking at the first of the racial “riots” in Chicago. Not too happy for me. // But I loved the airports. United Airlines did something progressive in their segment of O’Hara Airport. It was a concourse with synchronized beautiful lighting with music like this on their long automatic walkway. It was sort of a mini wonder in air travel. Hope that isn’t construed as a put down. It was wondrous. Love this work, too.
Just like i had said before in the 70s video, people should use some of these footages to use on their videos about airports and/or planes.

@@greensprite6067 Shot on film most probably. 35mm film well scanned can achieve up to 8k resolution nowadays

This video or part of it made in 70s. The Pan Am B747 aircrafts started service at the end of January 1970.

The building with the big concrete roof is or was by now the Pan Am terminal at JFK Airport. I am a New Yorker who grew up in NYC during the Mad Men era.
It was TWA terminal.

Great video. It's nice to remember a progressive time for the Afgan people as it was it the 1960s. It's so sad now that they have moved back in time 100 years now.
Much of this footage is in the 1970s.

It’s amazing that it took like 70 years to go from first flight to landing on the moon, and about the same amount of time before someone thought of putting wheels on luggage.

I love these old airport videos, but PLEASE get rid of the creepy, sullen music. It's so incoherent with the energy and optimism of airports in the 50s-70s.
Turning the volume down to mute does the trick.
