A flight on Barq Aviation L1011-500 TriStar N162AT. Operating Askari Aviation positioning flight ACE2222 from Karachi to Islamabad, Pakistan on 29 January 2013.
Wow, incredible! This must have been one of the last passenger L-1011 flights. Barq Aviation acquired some TriStar 500s from ATA for humanitarian flights I believe.
Amazing flight video of one of the most iconic Jetliners 🙌, possibly even the newest/ best quality video too! I only wish there were more than just 1 still flying 💔
Absolute super priceless capture of analogue Lockheed L1011-500 Tristar a short body version. Flew on TWA L1011 multiple times almost 41 years ago. A very advanced airliner at the time and enjoyed the Rolls-Royce RB211 engine start up growl rumble with white smoke being emitted! Loved the flight crew having a cigarette:). From Australia, Well done! Ansett 727.
Loved this aeroplane and lucky to fly with Caledonian Airways from Manchester to Tenerife in 1993. Same charter configuration also but still very comfortable
Is this a regular Pakistani operator ? Whats the deal ?? Great to see the cockpit video, Thank You. Please make more videos, especially of the FMS & INS.
I seen the last flight of L1011 Biman airlines in bangerdeash going to Birmingham thay wanted to give it to RAF COSFORD who said yes then said no As they had no were to put it 😢😢😢😢😢😢
both runways were a disgrace all the oil and tyre scrub should be removed after a set time., highly dangerous skid possibilities there also never saw one runway light in either or ILS
It states on the safety cards and the flight engineers station L1011- 500. Even one of the carts in the galley said, "for L1011-500 AIRCRAFT ONLY" Pretty sure that's a 500
Look up the registration and at least do the tiniest bit of research 🙄, I can’t even count how many people tried “correcting” me on a video I posted about a Northwest 747-100 that I spent hours researching and none of them tried doing the smallest bit of research for themselves.
Great video and people....and a cool plane with real guages....I like the smoking in the cockpit too....I really do....we are so mired down in USA with buulshit regs and rules....
The DC 10 may have sold more units, but the L1011 was a much better aircraft in design, safety redundancy, testing, innovation, and a way better engine in the Rolls Royce RB. The DC 10 was decent, but could have been great had the greedy management team listened to their engineers early in the development stage. It was instead a rush job with built in flaws like cargo door latching, poor engine pylons and maintenance access, and safety redundancy offered as ‘an option’ to customers? Who does that? This is the same management culture that is currently ruining Boeing.
Incredible footage thank you

@aviationlba747 It was one of the last flights. As far as I know, N162AT (this one), N164AT and N194AT are still languishing at Ras-al-Khaimah.
Greetings from Abu Dhabi to Leeds Bradford. I'm a Teesside boy, by the way!
Flew on a lot of L1011's as a kid across the Atlantic. Loved that aircraft, so comfortable to fly on - and also one of the best looking IMO.
The L1011 is maybe my favourite aircraft, and this is probably the newest video of it♥
@Jannik_Stein One of the last flights.
That is one beautiful airplane! So glad to see it flying!
What a fantastic film. It brings back good memories from my time in ATA. Been onboard this plane many times.
10:56 just having a casual smoke in the cockpit
L-1011 is my favourite plane, thank you very much for posting this incredible video!
Great footage of a true classic - thank you for posting!
Oh wow this is from 2013….towards the end I was thinking how old is this video, since you landed at the old Islamabad airport.
Amazing flight video of one of the most iconic Jetliners 🙌, possibly even the newest/ best quality video too! I only wish there were more than just 1 still flying 💔

Nice video mate, thanks. Not many planes still flying that need a flight engineer. 👍
I like a Captain who wants input and respects his crew. “ Everybody happy?”….” OK..I’m happy.” That’s the way it has to be always. Team work.
@@jamrackmusic2198 He was a really nice guy.
This is a marvel of a video.. thanks for posting this!!!
An absolutely brilliant aircraft. great design and excellent safety record.
Nice catch Ian, great video! Same crew as I had.
Amazing! I so miss the Eastern first class silver service flights 70's & 80's.....
Best airliner ever ❤…remember my youth flying as pax in eastern L1011 and Gulf Air .
Awesome video! Love seeing Barq content. I've seen their stored Tristars at RKT a few times now. Love the ATA schemes on them!
Fantastic video. Thank you everyone. Great work by the pilots. ❤
the L-1011 TriStar is my most favourite plane, i wish it would still be in passenger service though
My last L1011-500 flight was on Delta in August 1992 from LGW-ATL, and my first flight was from FRA-ATL in August 1982.
23:05 sound?
Autopilot disconnect. ( You can see the Captains left thumb hit the button on the yoke.) Amazing vid!
thanks for uploading this treat. ! .
Excellent. Thank you for sharing!
I used to fly a lot with LTU TriSars in my youth.
Amazing Video!
Wow this is so mystical video ever
Wait I see door that l1011 Tristar entry door reveal 14:38
How did the elderly American(?) guy in the left seat end up flying L1011's in Pakistan? A unique video!
He was a captain in ATA when they went bankrupt.
@@andreasmowinckel6857 Really! Wonder what the compensation was like? Good enough to TDY to Pakistan to sunset this old jet?
How old is this video?
Did this plane belong to American Trans Air it looks so familiar.
L.1011 tristar is the best aircraft ,, i remember gulf air ❤❤❤
The last l10 I flew on was N388LS
Who are the crew memebers
Excellent!
31 years old at time of filming seemly. 17:05 that address is now a used car dealership, I take the F150 and the L1011!! Haha
Is this a regular Pakistani operator ? Whats the deal ?? Great to see the cockpit video, Thank You. Please make more videos, especially of the FMS & INS.
@dhakaboy1 No, this was contract flying back then. Barq was a charter operator.
"prepare for impact"... 😂
❤❤❤ very nice love L1011
That’s a EX ATA L-1011
I seen the last flight of L1011 Biman airlines in bangerdeash going to Birmingham thay wanted to give it to RAF COSFORD
who said yes then said no
As they had no were to put it 😢😢😢😢😢😢
That is not a -500
@@nathd1748 It is a 500. Just simply look up the registration N162AT. It was one of the ATA 500s that had the additional exits installed.
@flymajj The exits looked like it was a longer L1011 with an intake conversion.
Top
Pack of Marlboros on the console.
Lockheed L-1011
both runways were a disgrace all the oil and tyre scrub should be removed after a set time., highly dangerous skid possibilities there also never saw one runway light in either or ILS
Relax, it is a third world runway.
Passenger 57 😂
Not a L1011-500!
It's a L1011-385-3.
The Airworthiness Certificate at 17:11 proves it.
Yes, that is the FAA designation, but it was marketed and more commonly known as the -500 series.
It states on the safety cards and the flight engineers station L1011- 500. Even one of the carts in the galley said, "for L1011-500 AIRCRAFT ONLY" Pretty sure that's a 500
This is not a 500
@@marcospadaro4627 It is.
No
TriStar 500 , ( short version ) have SIX Door only
Not 500 version@@flymajj
@marcospadaro4627 The additional exits were a special conversion for ATA's 500s.

smoking in the cockpit is very unprofessional. airlines should not hire pilots who smoke
Lol...and the co pilot smoking!
The co pilot wouldn't be employed by any decent airline....he wouldn't pass the medical!..
Lockheed should have kept this aircraft in production and should have used a different engine type than the rolls royce.
Great video and people....and a cool plane with real guages....I like the smoking in the cockpit too....I really do....we are so mired down in USA with buulshit regs and rules....
fantastic!
Scrapped in 2022.
