- Bandai Namco has announced Heihachi Mishima as the next DLC character for Tekken 8 and revealed that, for the first time in the series' history, a new chapter in the story mode will be added to the game. The extra story content will delve deeper into the ongoing feud between the Mishima and Kazama families.
The announcement was made during Evo 2024, at which Tekken 8 was a major attraction for players wanting to compete in high-level battles and viewers who want to see the best of the best duke it out in the fighting game. Heihachi is a fan-favorite character and one of the main antagonists of the Tekken series. His arrival follows Eddy Gordo, a DLC character that is already available, and Lidia Sobieska, who will be available widely from July 25. Heihachi is expected to be available in Fall 2024.
The story expansion, which builds on the ongoing 'The Dark Awakens' storyline, will be free, but publisher Bandai Namco has not yet confirmed when it will be available.

I am baffled. Heihaci died at the end of tekken 7. And as stated by thorgi arcade in the build a roster tekken x street fighter, " In addition to him dying. After tekken 7 came out Heihachi's voice actor passed away too." One a voice actor's time in the world comes to an end, It was like the character really is dead.

Bruvvvv!!! We needed him G. I’ve always wondered what he’d be like in T8. Having him as DLC was the best move. Kazuya and Jin needed to sort out their beef which took all our focus for weeks. And now, having Heihachi later in the year, with a backing story is like the icing on the cake.
Reina didn’t do much in the story. She was like that random villain stalking people from the shadows whispering to herself so we’ll see her true nature along side her dad and if Kazumi is her mom(wishful thinking.)
Hehachi and Lidia have some sort connection that T7 vaguely explained so that needs to be seen in the flesh. So yeah, I feel he’s the most important DLC character right now considering his demise. Best way to have him back.

I'm glad Hei is back. Can't wait to pickup my favorite Mishima again. I don't mind paying for him.
This kinda surprising...but kinda odd.....for the dead guy to come back though to be fair we never saw his body melt in lava not make a splash....still....if his brain got burned up which is why he looks kinda mental.....but heihachi fans & mains must be like.....yes yesyes....he's baaaaaaack!!!!!

It seems that now they are going to show other mishimas and their origins. According to the trailer, they are able to "open dimensions" and It is also possible that Lidia is related to Heihachi.
Could Lidia be another one of Heihachi's many children?
@@gioli2150 doubtful since the other oldguy did not look like heihachi.....but maybe uncle at best?....since she did learn karate though not mishima style.....portals....kazuya would have seen it then......
My expression when I saw him was the same Heihachi had while saying "I am Heihachi Mishimas"😂 . Although he should have been in the game since d1, I and almost all Heihachi mains didnt care if he was dead or not. Also it will be intresting to see how op or/and easier they will make him since he will be a dlc.

@@GamerNemy the problem is I am sick of hearing this character should be base roster as the basic most heard complains. And about heihachi, it's makes much sense he is still alive, in the story, heihachi was reported missing globally, and the only one who thought he was dead is kazuya. There is 0 reasons Reina would come out as a Mishima from shadows, it's much more makes sense if someone told her to go out there. And in the story Reina never said heihachi was dead not she has ever said she wanted to take revenge
Oh and always the misinformed raven that just watch the fight from afar and never confirmed heihachi's dead
There is another possibility after I read a lot more in the trailer and pausing it several times
This can also be the continuation of the story rather than being the concurrent. These events are happening 6 months after kazuya and Jin final battle.
Reina was fixed on getting her devil gene awakened for a reason we don't know at Tekken 8 main story
Now we can assume that she wants them to revive heihachi by using devil gene ( in case u don't remember, kazuya and Jin both died once and both were revived by devil gene), there is a whole lot of reason Reina would know this from one of her meeting with heihachi behind the scenes
This definitely just justified my dislike for Reina. She was already a nothing character in the main story along with a bland design, but with Heihachi back, she seems more worthless. Unless she's like a proprietor of his resurrection from death, i will be extremely disappointed.
