akdeniz aslan Wrong, I love all animals that are not food. I think it's terrible what we are doing to making species like elephants or tigers go extinct. People killing tigers for sport are the evil ones, not people that eat meat. There are alot of wrong things about factory farming I agree, that doesn't mean it's wrong to eat meat. Humans are just an animal, animals eat whatever they can eat to survive. A lion is not evil for killing and eating an antilope nor is a human evil for eating a cow. I know you will say that we don't have to do this but that is irrelevant. There are far more destructive things that we don't have to do but we do anyway. For example our release of CO2 into the atmosphere causing destructive climate change.

Milkias Gebreyesus i didn’t say that, we cut down millions of trees everyday just so we can feed the cattle’s. So burning trees, produces CO2.

akdeniz aslan Yes it is and it would be great of everyone cut down on eating meat but nobody is under any moral obligation to stop doing it just as nobody is required to stop driving cars even though it releases CO2.

Best decision ever! I'll never change again!

I’m vegan. I truly do not care what you eat. Leave me out of it. I’ve learned why I stopped arguing with people over this.
Edit: I made this comment 3 years ago meaning my opinions have changed a lot. Back then I was very against those who ate meat. But my views quickly changed seeing the hypocrisy that view had. I saw many people who would deathly defend animal rights but support abortion rights. That’s just one example of many but it’s so unrealistic for society in terms of the United States to switch to this lifestyle considering the economic impact. I could get really into this but I thought it was important to address since this comment got so much traction.
Edit 2: I’m also vegetarian now because vegansm destroyed the little energy I ever had left. Fellow Athletes I recommend a diet that doesn’t SEVERELY limit your choice in protein. Life’s much better with more options

I've seen some of your comments here, and you're clearly just wasting your time trolling vegan content cause you have nothing better to do with your life, but still - consider nurturing your conscience & gaining morals, because as of now, you're being a horrible person. @Santiago Colla Still doesnt justify killing an animal.. but whatever. personally Ithink its more important to show parents rather than kids.. I was shown this as a kid and I remember telling me my mom I didnt want to eat pork anymore. But that did not go well. I was beaten if I didnt eat and I also didnt like veggies so it was difficult. As a result I just threw food down the toilet.. :D
Also whats the good part..? I highly doubt it is profitable to spend money giving these animals some privileges when you can make more just skipping the humane part. I mean you are growing them to eat them why spend time attaching yourself to animals if you're going to kill them just to pleasure yourself. Not only is it more efficient but its also the fastest way to meet the demands thus more money. The "good" part you speak only exist because of the controversy.. @Santiago Colla ok... Doesn't sound cost effective. If anything just sounds like what it used to be before all went to shit.. Meat is a luxury food.. What you explained to me is a luxury food.. What people eat is low quality food. Maybe you don't but majority does so basically it's reverting back to the issue only for people to forget and go back to eating factory meat. Meat doesn't grow like plants it takes time resources and plants to grow since we don't exactly eat carnivores.. Ironic actually. It's been proven over and over.. We can survive without meat so there's absolutely no need to nor is there any true jusfication for eating and killing animals aside of for pleasure. You can continue glorifying your farms but it doesn't change the outcome. Nothing truly beneficial just convenience and reluctance to give up society traditions.

If you wanna be sure you could, instead of becoming vegan, look at the products. Now this is something everyone can do 😊. How they are treated ,where they are from etc. There are great possibilities. If you live in a rural area you may even know a farmer personally. Idk, it's different for everyone. But for example my friend has chickens (they don't eat them) and every morning there is a new egg. So they live happy in her big garden, she takes care of them and in exchang she get her own egg, not having to worry about anything. 💜

I think it was so easy to just not think about what went on and be nieve instead of really knowing what I knew was wrong. I stayed blind to it for so many years because meat is just so readily available and your told your whole life you "need" it for protein or whatever else....
Fast forward about 20 years and I am now a parent myself, whose daughter one day asked me, mom-why do we eat animals? And all I could really tell her was, because me and daddy ate animals when we were growing up, and so did our moms and dads and their moms and dads. This lead into discussions just about daily from my 5year old and 10year old asking, mom what kind of animal are we eating today? Mom, what kind of animal is in our burger? And so on...this got me re-thinking ..WHY is it I justify animals being murdered just for 2 or 3meals a day to be on our plates? All 5 of us??!!!
A few documentaries later- myself, my husband, and my 3 kids all converted to WFPB/Vegan diets and its been 2 months now! Never turning back. We all feel great and my kids are happy to know that every meal of everyday never has an animal who died for us to feel full. Lots of fruit and veggies now and no complaints!

Besides we are killing them for food just like how they themselves kill other animals for food. Its the cycle of life. Also , we all have canine teeth . Obviously, it's function is for eating meat. If you are so pity for the animals, think about the amount of trees cut each day. Aren't trees a habitat for animals? Also, think about the area you're living in right now. It was obviously a part of the forest before they cut it down to make your house. An animal couldve live there. If you said animals had feelings, wouldn't they be sad that you're living in the place they were rightfully living? No , because they don't have a soul or a complex mind. Natural /= healthy. What we do to source any of our food is “unnatural.” Growing plants and factory farming other animals are both unnatural. So this “natural” argument is a non-starter.
The real question is “should we continue doing what we’re doing?” The downsides to continuing include ethical, environmental, and health considerations. The upside is “it tastes good.”
And even the “it tastes good” argument falls flat when you consider that meat only tastes good because of the seasonings anyway and we can get those tastes and more out of a vegan diet.

The best that we can do now as soon as we learn the truth is to try and educate others as much as we personally can.

Ed's right on the propaganda thing, all our lives and the lives of our parents & their parents before them have all been duped into believing that this is 'normal'. This is what it is and there is no other way around it, animals have to die so what we will do is put advert after advert on TV showing how happy these animals are in the fields and how good they are for you. You can't get these vitamins from anywhere else but from animal products. All bullshit, all lies to desensitise people into believing it's a necessary evil, it's ok they're only animals who gives a damn and unfortunately it's worked for many many years, it's ingrained into society. I was the same I can't deny it, I didn't see this, thought it was all perfectly normal behaviour, that what I was told was true. It's all bullshit. I'm 50 next year, stopped being an insensitive, immoral, ignorant twat when I was 42. Went veggie first got so much hassle and abuse it was unreal, when I went vegan all holy hell broke out 😂 I've been spat at, had one guy just because he heard me ask for dairy free milk at the counter in a cafe rub his ham sandwich in my face, I didn't recent mention being vegan, didn't have a t-shirt on or anything, had my own family laugh in my face about the animals abuse and been called an eco terrorist, a tree hugging freak, a weirdo u name it. Do I give a shit well in some ways I do because it's so disappointing to see what should be compassionate healthy normal people show such destructive behaviour just because you don't want to contribute to killing animals. I don't get it, but it shows to me just how much it upsets others that we see it and they either can't, don't want to because it challenges what they've been brought up to believe is right, or just plain sadistic bastards and they can't help being sadistic bastards. Those types would harm anyone animal or human I have no doubt. I think things are heading in the right direction though. I think more and more people over the next few years will become vegan and be active in the movement. I just hope the next generations will forgive mine and those before, for what we have done and hopefully move forward to a more compassionate, caring world that cares for each other, the planet and all the species within it. Because if we don't charge there won't be a planet to live on.

*Raw FrugiViking* oh wow... you must be really sensitive to that stuff. I am glad that I don't have that same problem with animals. However, I do cry when something bad or unfortunate enough happens. But animals being killed for food isn't one of those things. We are quite similar.

    • @avadhuta93
      @avadhuta93 6 років тому +1

Porky The Pig Well, I'm glad I do have that so called "problem". To me, being empathic is not a problem, it is a gift. The thing is, animals are being killed, in truly horrific ways in the meat industry. So, the fact that there's a reason, which is food, or more accurately, profit, that doesn't matter a bit to me, because they are still being killed. When we then take into consideration, that they are being killed, for no good reason (because we can easily survive, and even thrive, without animal products in our diet) that just makes it extra horrible to me. We are literally killing billions of animals each year, so that people can take their rotting corpses into themselves for food. This results in diseases equally worth billions of dollars. The environment is being destroyed, forests are being cut down to make room for crops, crops not to feed to the millions of starving people who also inhabit this world, but crops to fatten up "livestock" because people like to eat rotting flesh of dead animals who didn't want to die, rather than a healthy diet consisting of what we are supposed to eat (evolutionary speaking) which is fruits and vegetables. So you see it's not JUST the animals being killed for food who are suffering because of this, it is literally all of us. We all live under the same sun. If we continue to give zero fucks about this problem that is animal agriculture, then we shall all suffer the consequences one day. It may be in 10 years, it may be in a hundred years, but sooner or later we will have done unrepairable damage to the climate.
Sorry for the long-ish read. Obviously this is something I feel strongly about. I could have probably gone on and on all day. :)

After seeing the Earthlings documentary video about the meat and dairy industry in the UK I stopped eating meat and dairy products. I have been vegan for over a year now and have never felt better.. My only regret is I which I had done it sooner.

Great Video! I have a questions for you. The info about Canadian slaughterhouses hiring Syrian refugees was new to me. As a Canadian activist this is important info for me to share with the public. I did a quick internet search but only found articles dating to 2016 and the meat industry wanting to hire the refugees but nothing after that saying it happened. Can you please forward me your source so I can check it out and share the Canadian content to the people? Many thanks!

I was admitted to hospital for mental reasons and had to go back to being vegetarian because they wouldn’t cater for vegans. Then I watched the documentary earthlings (while I was in hospital) and just refused to eat anything they gave me. Until my carer drove to the shops and bought vegan food and let me go to the kitchen (under close supervision) and got to cook my own food. Idk why I’m sharing this Rn but I wanted to so yeah. Also I met i diabetic boy (he was an amazing souled human) and I was talking to him about why I don’t eat meat and he actually ended up going vegan, he improved a lot in those few short weeks (idk if he’s still vegan but I hope he is) he was only 10

First go talk to your parents and explain to them how you see things and why you want to go vegan. Then just ask them one single question :"How can I be too young to be a criminal but not to young to love animals and try to deliver theme from their suffering ?".
And if non of that works and they completely refused and denied your point of view, put in you're mind that if you could you would directly become vegan. And the day your parents will no longer have any authority on you go vegan and do what please you.

One thing I'd recommend for the Land of Hope and Glory video is to take the "sad" music out. make it so that people can hear the real noises from the animals better, so it has more of an effect. also the music makes people think that the doc is "telling" them how to feel (this is why some people might say that docs like earthlings are propaganda - as it feels deceptive), when i think it would be more effective to just show the footage for what it is, with no other audio other than your narration.

If i remember correctly the movie Earthlings is just a film with real screams, no music or smth. It was a movie that changed my life. I showed it to others too, but for most of them the screams were a bit too much. I mean. They probably would have watched it til the end, but they didn't bear. So i think the music in this movie is ok and i agree with the point that Bianca Hornak said.It draws perfectly the contrast between reality and illusion we live in.
