Great video! Fun Fact - since you mentioned it, my original landing gear actuator in my Bravo (Plessey brand) needed to be replaced (Eaton brand) and set me back 20K! I regularly fly from Tucson to Baton Rouge in 5.25 hours with one fuel stop 👍 Go Mooney!!!!!

Very interesting. I’m a big fan of Mooneys too, particularly the M20F. Thanks for a really informative video.

Nice video, I've got a C at ERV and actually find it really easy to work on. It's well thought out and solidly built. What airport are you working out of? Looks like we're in the same neck of the woods.

One correction, at 9-10gph, the J will get you closer to 150-155ktas...or 172/179mph. I used to cruise LOP at 8gph and would see 145ktas (167mph)

Sold my M20E (short body) a few years back, great airplanes. At 6'1" & 225#'s, they are a little tight to get into but once seated there is plenty of room. Spent just under a year going through the aircraft after purchase (hangar find) so many many hours working on it, Al Mooney did a good job designing them

Mooney's are a great airplane. Tough as a tank, fast, fuel efficient and fun to fly. But boy can they float on landing if you don't have the speed nailed. Yeah, working on them can be a PITA, but unless you have that beast of an engine up front, working on them isn't really all that bad. Been working on them for well over 50 years now and would consider owning one if I didn't already own an S35 Bonanza that's undoubtedly the BEST airplane ever made. 😎

Excellent video!!!! Keep in mind that people who own these airplanes are people that can afford an expensive annual every year. Most mechanics don’t work on an aircraft because they have a love affair with it. They are trying to make a living. In my opinion the best pilots are always mechanics because they know the aircraft better than anyone. Therefore they have the ability to own and operate a nice plane at a deeply discounted rate compared to a pilot who is not a mechanic. Thanks for the video I can’t wait to see more!!!!

If only you had tiny carney hands? You could get that oil filter out. 😜
