The missing effects introduced in the Ps4 pro/Xbox one X update are finally back like the snow in the introduction and the particule effects. 60fps is also welcome, this game really needed 60fps
Playing this on PS5 now, and I can definitely concur on 60FPS being welcome for the upgrade.

@markus9641 Yeah! There are two playstyles to choose from in Darksiders 3. Dark Souls inspired or more closer to Darksiders 1 or Darksiders 2. 60fps would improve either style.
@markus9641 yeah with the whole dodging and counterattack thing. Combos would be A LOT easier

I get this for free as I already own Darksiders 2 Deathinitive Edition for PS4. Not bad I'm a big Darksiders fan.

@@Fulgore43 I can. Go to the PS5 versions page and it's free. If ya bought it and didn't get it from PS Plus it's free to upgrade.
@@Fulgore43 If you have a physical copy, you usually have to insert the disk in the console before you can upgrade the game.

Oh man, that beautiful 60fps and the major texture and rendering resolution boost are really doing wonders for the game. It's like they wiped a heavy layer for grime/sludge from the game.
Playing this now, and it’s super crisp. Looks fantastic. Everything pops, looks to have HDR support (if it doesn’t it’s at least more vibrant), and the audio sounds great coming out of a sound system. 60 fps is also most welcome. Well worth the upgrade as I’ll be looking to replay these leading up to Darksiders 4. DS2 just needs a little touchup on Playstation to bring it up to the 4K image XBox gets. But hoping DS3 also gets the remaster treatment. Could use a res bump on Playstation as well, and 60 fps would be awesome.
@mandrews6282 If it doesn't have proper HDR. Turn on Dynamic Tone Mapping on your HDR TV. Have pixel brightness or brightness and contrast at 100 like with proper HDR on your TV and then adjust the HDR settings in the PS5'S adjust HDR settings and click until the sun clips into the background. On my LG G2 with Dynamic Tone Mapping it's around 25 clicks first and second page and last page make completely black. Also have HDR Always on, on in the PS5's settings. You now have the PS5's version of Auto Tone Mapping which mimics HDR by putting SDR into a HDR pipeline while not being proper HDR. It works in all non HDR PS4/PS5 games.
There's a crap tone of frame drops and screen tearing. Was gutted today when I started playing it. It was fine till you get to the first dungeon and it just falls off so bad from there. The screen tearing is terrible. And the fps is all over the place.
@@Dean-SLC Seems to be running fine for me on PS5 but I am using a 120HZ VRR OLED. Only hitches I get are from loading into new areas and seeing the autosave icon pop up.
UPDATE - scrap that, I can see what you mean now. Appears to happen around areas with lava. I can just about handle it but yeah you are right in that it has dropped frames and tearing
@@dragonsoul30 yeh it happens in dungeons, lava is the worst, but it has been in all dungeons I have been in so far, and some are worse than others. I have a TV that does all that to and it doesn't fix it 😭. Was looking forward to this, but screen tearing has always been one of the things I just can't get over.
Yesterday and today it has been happening to me, both activating VRR and without activating it... the tearing is horrible, I hope they fix it.
Wow that looks so much crisper now. Also the lighting is much better. A welcome free upgrade.
The only sad thing is. You can not yoused the ps4 safe file version. I play D2 for 2 Month ago on the Ps5. But This Version can't take the Pa4 Safe File. I want a new Game+ but hmm.
I hope it gives a update for that.
That's also my problem. I recently started with the PS4 version and have 7 hours of playtime that I don't want to throw away. On the Xbox you can use the old save file so it should be technically possible.
@@ZentnerschwererEmbryo You've got me thinking. I have the whole Darksiders series on the Xbox Series X. Now I've downloaded and installed the game just to test it out. And yes, my old save game from the beginning of the year is being transferred automatically. So I can now start a New Game+. You pay for PS+ so you can save your save games and then you can't transfer it to a new game. I had the same problem with FF7 Remake. I wanted to play it on the PS5 with the old save game from the PS4 and I had an option where I could upload and download the save game, but it only finds the save game of the new game. Even though the old save game is on the console and in the cloud. I just don't understand why Sony can't do this. Oh well, I'll play D2 on the Series X again. I can do without the features of the Dual Sense controller because I don't use it 99% of the time. I played it for an hour and after 30 minutes I noticed a vibration on the gamepad. There were also sound problems when there were too many enemies.
What i see is more light the snow is more bright and small amount details but fire on the horse head is more
Nobody is talking about, but I compared the closed beta with the original PC version, both in 4k, and textures and antialiasing are considerable better now, did anyone notice?

I don't know if its me but i have noticed audio inconsistencies and tearing and stuttering of video i hope they sort it out
If anyone is wondering why they didn't get the free upgrade. It's likely because you didn't buy the game and you got it free via PlayStation Plus. Also would have been nice if you also compared the PS3 version.
Darn they cut out the part where the amulet breaks. I wanted to see if they fixed that red spot bug that was part of the first Deathinitive Edition. For some reason that really bugged me.

There is only one video display preset. I can't see any RT option in the menu, so if RT is enabled by default - then yes.
Why is there no ps5 upgrade version?
Yes there is a free upgrade to the PS5 version, only if you already had the PS4 version purchased, I literally just installed it and now I'm playing it again.

@@gabinidal6908 Look for it in the store and it should appear. In my case, I installed the PS4 version yesterday and today when I turned on the PlayStation, I went to the game and the update appeared on the right side.

Any idea if the free ps plus version I got in 2015 will get me the free upgrade? If I check library it says I own the ps4 version but can preorder the ps5 version for 15€ , sale ends at 3pm though
If you own a ps4 copy it's a free upgrade
You need to purchase the upgrade. Having the ps+ version doesn't mean you technically own the game. Such was my case at least and I gladly bought the upgrade

The RT is probably the better lighting and maybe other things, shadows and reflections. Not sure yet.

Well yeah! It's 4k 30fps on PS4 Pro and has higher quality shadows. It's more like 1620p on PS4 Pro though I believe.

Como esto explica lo que comentas? Las bases de tu comentario no son las correctas estimo. Lo que se ve aquí el 4k con 60 fps y ciertos aditamentos fue algo que se había hecho hace tiempo con el primer Darksiders y estaba pendiente con el 2. Y si lo dices porque no ves mayor mejora gráfica pues culpa al developer y no a la consola...en PS4?5 hay harto de juegos que se ven muchísimo mejor que esto.

nah, the the lighting looks much improved with HDR and slightly higher res
@@MorrisseyMuse of course but once u actually play it you can see the difference.
Missing effects are restored (like the snow in the introduction), lighting is fixed (the ps4 version was too dark compared to other versions), higher resolution textures/shadows and 60fps. It's a simple but good update and it's free. The game is not broken anymore so I'm happy

It looks much smoother and crystal clear with better light effects and and shadows. What did u expect , it’s a free upgrade
