Jeremiah, Joker has always been my favourite fictional character of all time. Also, Cameron Monaghan was really good at the roles of Jerome/Jeremiah Valeska, he is actually my second favourite Joker character actor of all time, Mark Hamill being first.
Tetch ( Mad Hatter) has got to be amazing for me as he showed the audience the power of mind control and made the audience fear him. Also, he basically nearly caused mass homocide across gotham and was able to corrupt a full radio station just to kill everyone. Finally, I love the way he speaks in a poetic tone and makes everything rhyme. It brings some sort of joyful but frighting tone to the character. Also Riddler is the goat with him fighting with his second mind is a beautiful touch and allows the audience to understand the character development of him. ITS RIDDLE TIMEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

We live in an age of storytelling and i can tell you that Penguin's story was definitely the best out of all of them. People would easily say Jeremiah but honestly that's the aura talking. The weight of the Joker character at this point is prestigious. Either go big or go home so it made Cameron stand out more when he not only portrayed one version but 3 (technically 4). However, what makes a great villian is not only the atmosphere he's set in but the characters that he encounters that further cements his status. Cameron had that ability but once he returned the first time it was obvious the character was a representation of Gotham and that the environment is sparked BY him. Penguin was sparked by the city itself and his character further and further with each encounter. You wanted to see him overcome Fish Mooney. I’d say Jeremiah was a better villain than Jerome in how he affected Gotham. The fact Jeremiah caused Gotham becoming a No Man’s Land and how the people of Gotham nearly became ‘extinct’ makes him, as a villain, better than Jerome. But I think Jerome was the better character
Amazing Penguin, Jerome, Riddler Great Professor Pyg, , Mad Hatter, Jeremiah, J, Good Azrael, Ivy S3, Ivy S4, Barbara S5, Barbara S2, Scarecrow, Tabitha, Ecco, Ra’s Al Gual, Butch, Bane, Sofia Falcone, Strange, Galavan, Falcone, Zsaaz Alright Barbara S3, Ventriloquist, Clone Bruce, Shaman, Kathryn, Mr. Freeze, Grundy, Nyssa Al Gual, Fish Mooney, Ogre, Maroni, Court of Owls Mediocre Barbara S4, Mario Falcone, Firefly, Doll Maker, Bad Clayface, Ivy S1, Tetch Virus Lee, Executioner, Mrs. Peabody It’s worth noting I based this off character work not as a villain.
Worst and Best Villain (in my opinion): Man Bat (Worst): because he literally wasn’t even in it, he was just teased at the end of Season Four. Penguin (Best): Penguin is great, the best tv show character ever in my opinion. Also: Yes FireFly was recast, but only once. Random Fact: In the comics (specifically, Batman: the Long Halloween) Falcone’s son, Alberto killed Maroni and Harvey Dent killed Falcone
Top 5: 5. Solomon/Butch (Incredibly developed side character.) 4. Jeremiah (Great, but not quite as great as his brother.) 3. Penguin (Best until he becomes a bumbling idiot in Season 5.) 2. Riddler (Best editing in the whole show, kept me watching.) 1. Jerome (I mean come on man...) Honorable Mentions: Selina (Not enough of a villain.) Zsasz (One of my favorite characters, but he's not there enough.) Barbara (Compelling storyline, there the whole time.) Bottom 5: 5. Evil Bruce (Underused, confusing, but a bit kinda sorta fun.) 4. The Ogre (When you mentioned his name, I had to think for a second. Barely even remembered.) 3. Sofia Falcone (She is not hated enough. She shouldn't have gotten as far as she did. Unrealistic.) 2. Professor Pyg (Thanks for the worst episode of Gotham ever, s4 e10 1. Clayface (WAY too underused.) Dishonorable Mentions: Mr. Penn (Why did he end up being a villain?) Mr. Freeze (Give him a personality please.)
I'm confused, when you (and Boba as well) say "Evil Bruce" you actually mean Clone Bruce, right? I ask because people tend to forget him all the time but they remember smaller characters and I don't know why
every major villain was perfectly cast for this show. with more consistent writing it could have been unforgettable. standouts for me were hatter, penguin, jerome/jeremiah & zsasz.
My favorites ranked: 5. Jerome 4. Professor Pig 3. Riddler 2. Jeremiah/Joker (not final episode version) 1. Penguin Season 5 isnt out yet in my country D:
I think, knowing him only from the arkham games, it is absolutely amazing, that a citywide virus, that's like scarecrow toxin on crack came because of the mad hatter! 😂 So unexpected.
Basing the characters on villainy I would move Victor in good and move Eco down as I feel Victor did more villainous things in the entire show I would move Fische Mooney to amazing as she was very villainous in the earlier seasons and also riddler to amazing. I'd move the 2nd iteration of Ivy down as definitely wasn’t anywhere near as villainous as Victor or the 3rd Ivy.
Personally I think killing Nora Fries was a massive blunder on the writer’s part since Mr. Freeze’s motivation as a villain has always been to cure his wife, it makes him quite a tragic villain. In the show he essentially just becomes some muscle-for-hire. Other than that, I really enjoyed Gotham.
tbh the Riddler is my fave villain but I respect you putting him in the "great" tier. there were some rlly messy plotlines surrounding Ed. I think my favourite arc of his will always be him in s2, especially the episodes where he framed Jim :) sadly I get the impression that the writers didn't really know what to do with Ed after those episodes. some of the decisions taken after that were hits, some weren't.
I would’ve put Jeremiah (Season 5) at amazing with Jerome. Then maybe his Season 4 at Great. I’m season 5, I absolutely love his colors and the more clean “Joker” look as compared to Jerome or J.
I would've put The Ogre in at least Great Tier cause even tho I don't remember much of S1 I do remember The Ogre and I thought he was Scary, Amazing, a true villain. Also I loved that he was the reason for Barbara's downfall into madness.
It’s so hard to rank the villains they all played their part really well but my favourite is Jerome but the number 1 has to be penguin Penguin has been there since day one and he was so clever every move he made was with thought and everything played out according to his own design he killed fish, maronie, galavan, azreal and so many more difficult to kill people
Me before the video: If Penguin, Jerome and Jeremiah aren't in the top tier I am unsubscribing. Me during the video: NOOOOOOOOO. But I accept the reasoning because I don't want to unsubscribe. Me after the video: Wait...how is Ms Peabody (Strange's Assistant) a better villain than clone Bruce?

The fact that only Oswald and Jerome made it into the Amazing tier feels correct.
Got to keep in mind that most of these were just origin stories to villains. They weren't all masterminds, held underground empires or had 100 cronies under their belts. It focuses more on the individuals before they became the threats that older Bruce Wayne had to face. So a few of these were a bit harsh considering you couldn't do much with the character at such an infancy. But subjectively on what they contributed to the show, i'd say you're quite right, it would've just been nice if you'd given some props to some of the lower ranked characters for their costumes or their short performances and how they stacked up to their comic counterparts.
i think it was meant of how charismatic the character was, or how well the actor performed as a villain and not how villainous their deeds in the show where...
Jeremiah and Jerome are two sides of the same coin to me. They matched each other in destruction and insanity/evil, but each of them showed a different approach to the same goal
The court of owls were fucking amazing, do you even remember the season 3 ending it was the only episode that was more than a hour long . They were the most mysterious Villien
Thank you for making this video man.Gotham was the show that introduced me to you channel and I have been hooked ever since.I love this show and your channel.
Before I watch the list, I'm just going to say that Penguin, is not only the best villain of the series, but the BEST character of the series. Yeah...I said it.
1. Jeremiah, strictly because his Joker was different, more unique and actually grew into the craziness 2. Jerome, Cameron REALLY enjoyed this role and it showed. A mad dog, crazy and delightfully evil. 3. Edward Nygma/The Riddler, I'm a huge Riddler fan and I just love how he's a layered and complex version of the character. 4. Ra's Al Ghul, Alexander Siddig was super cool in the role, I would say perfect casting and he captured the essence better than Liam Neeson 5. Oswald Cobblepott/Penguin, Robin Lord Taylor may actually have overtaken Danny Devito for my favorite Penguin. It's almost hard for me to call him a villain when I sympathize with him way too much. All around a great character. 6. Mad Hatter, I cannot believe how Gotham took such a silly villain and made him into a very charismatic, despicable and creepy monster. The actor did a great job. 7. Professor Pyg, deliciously hammy and insanely creepy. He really freaked me out and his storyline was probably my favorite. 8. Jonathan Crane/Scarecrow, my favorite Batman villain but I felt was criminally underutilized on the show. Costume was great, actor did great, enjoyed when he was on the show, but criminally underutilized. 9. Victor Zsasz, Cannot get enough of him. A one-note psychopath in the comics, a bizarrely likable, chill, and almost affably evil hitman that was a joy to watch. 10. Bane, He wasn't on the show long, but frankly, I think I got enough milage out of the character to find him awesome. Probably leaned a little too close to Tom Hardy's Bane and not quite as charismatic or quotable, I still think the character was impressive on the show.
Oh for F sake, just pick one!😜 Yes, I understand this is a tough list but how about starting off with the more mainstream villains (Penguin, Riddler, Selina Kyle, Hugo Strange) and then narrow down your choices. Worst and Best Villain (in my opinion):
Man Bat (Worst): because he literally wasn’t even in it, he was just teased at the end of Season Four.
Top 5:
5. Solomon/Butch (Incredibly developed side character.)
4. Jeremiah (Great, but not quite as great as his brother.)
3. Penguin (Best until he becomes a bumbling idiot in Season 5.)
2. Riddler (Best editing in the whole show, kept me watching.)
1. Jerome (I mean come on man...)
Honorable Mentions:
Selina (Not enough of a villain.)
Zsasz (One of my favorite characters, but he's not there enough.)
Barbara (Compelling storyline, there the whole time.)
Bottom 5:
5. Evil Bruce (Underused, confusing, but a bit kinda sorta fun.)
4. The Ogre (When you mentioned his name, I had to think for a second. Barely even remembered.)
3. Sofia Falcone (She is not hated enough. She shouldn't have gotten as far as she did. Unrealistic.)
2. Professor Pyg (Thanks for the worst episode of Gotham ever, s4 e10
1. Clayface (WAY too underused.)
Dishonorable Mentions:
Mr. Penn (Why did he end up being a villain?)
Mr. Freeze (Give him a personality please.)
I'm confused, when you (and Boba as well) say "Evil Bruce" you actually mean Clone Bruce, right?
I ask because people tend to forget him all the time but they remember smaller characters and I don't know why
@@Luca_Mel ye
wdym I found s4 ep10 entertaining because we got to learn more about pygs past and who he is
@@pumpkinbagelpatch
It's unpleasant and confusing, and it's a one episode arc, so I feel like most of the plot is unimportant.
*waves*
Dino Man's love for Gotham never dies, Boba.
My top five!
1. Penguin
2. Riddler
3. Jerome
4. Professor Pyg
5. The Mad Hatter
Yes Boba, a Gotham video😂😂, it’s been a long time
every major villain was perfectly cast for this show. with more consistent writing it could have been unforgettable. standouts for me were hatter, penguin, jerome/jeremiah & zsasz.
I'd personally add Riddler to that list, but other than that I completely agree
My top 5;
5. the ogre
4. Tetch. (Hypnotist dude)
3. Edward nygma (the riddler)
2. Mr. freeze
1. Jerome and Oswald
"Hey guys I may be losing my voice but I'm gonna talk for half an hour straight" true hero
I'm glad you made another Gotham video, I miss it so much
Zsasz was amazing

I loved gotham
An absolutely amazing and brilliant show
Everyone cast wise was absolutely superb
Especially Robin Taylor
1: Jerome, Penguin
2: Riddler
3: Jeremiah
4: Tetch
5: Scarecrow
It will be cool to see you rank the Arrow villains once the show is over.
Really wish maybe netflix wouldve given it a S5 extension like they did with lucifer
MavicAVF they did bring season 5 to netflix!
@@Suitsnstylesguy that’s not what she meant-
@@pumpkinbagelpatch could be a he
@@walterwhite8649 yea sorry I know
I think, knowing him only from the arkham games, it is absolutely amazing, that a citywide virus, that's like scarecrow toxin on crack came because of the mad hatter! 😂
So unexpected.
Strange’s assistant was named Peabody. 👍
I agree that Zsasz should be higher.
Mooney sucked.
Top 5 for me:
5)Victor
4)Scarecrow
3)Riddler
2)Penguin
1) jErOmEeEeEEeEeE
Witch victor?
@@pumpkinbagelpatch
Zsasz obviously
Personally I think killing Nora Fries was a massive blunder on the writer’s part since Mr. Freeze’s motivation as a villain has always been to cure his wife, it makes him quite a tragic villain. In the show he essentially just becomes some muscle-for-hire. Other than that, I really enjoyed Gotham.
Its still amazing to me that Gotham still gets brought up by the fans and even you Boba. I really wish didn't end. Still my favorite show to this day.
tbh the Riddler is my fave villain but I respect you putting him in the "great" tier. there were some rlly messy plotlines surrounding Ed. I think my favourite arc of his will always be him in s2, especially the episodes where he framed Jim :) sadly I get the impression that the writers didn't really know what to do with Ed after those episodes. some of the decisions taken after that were hits, some weren't.
why does Maroni remind me of Randal from JOKER?
It was the other way round for me
1. Jeremiah
2. Penguin
3. Jerome
4. Riddler
5. Ecco
I would’ve put Jeremiah (Season 5) at amazing with Jerome. Then maybe his Season 4 at Great. I’m season 5, I absolutely love his colors and the more clean “Joker” look as compared to Jerome or J.
My God...he did it...it’s here. Time to get nostalgic.
yes there are still gotham fans thank you boba for making a video
I would've put The Ogre in at least Great Tier cause even tho I don't remember much of S1 I do remember The Ogre and I thought he was Scary, Amazing, a true villain. Also I loved that he was the reason for Barbara's downfall into madness.
Yeah he was definitely terrifying
Agreed.
You forgot the electricutioner and the spirit of the goat.
they were in like 1 episode
@@Multzyx Basil was also in like 1 episode lol
It’s so hard to rank the villains they all played their part really well but my favourite is Jerome but the number 1 has to be penguin
Penguin has been there since day one and he was so clever every move he made was with thought and everything played out according to his own design he killed fish, maronie, galavan, azreal and so many more difficult to kill people
Yes here from the start. My #1 is penguin #2 jerome/jeremia #3 readler
Fernan A. Wilford *Riddler
Nah Jerome first
@@aceofknaves61 amen
Me before the video: If Penguin, Jerome and Jeremiah aren't in the top tier I am unsubscribing.
Me during the video: NOOOOOOOOO. But I accept the reasoning because I don't want to unsubscribe.
Me after the video: Wait...how is Ms Peabody (Strange's Assistant) a better villain than clone Bruce?
The fact that only Oswald and Jerome made it into the Amazing tier feels correct.
To be honest, more people should’ve gotten in. I think the big three people always point out with this show are Mr. J, Ozzie, and Nygma.
@@a_fine_edition2746 I think Jerome, penguin, and riddler should've been the top three
Stevie Monaghan Jeremiah honestly did way more than Riddler
The Penguin is the best for sure
Peeeeeeeeeeenguin
Got to keep in mind that most of these were just origin stories to villains. They weren't all masterminds, held underground empires or had 100 cronies under their belts. It focuses more on the individuals before they became the threats that older Bruce Wayne had to face. So a few of these were a bit harsh considering you couldn't do much with the character at such an infancy. But subjectively on what they contributed to the show, i'd say you're quite right, it would've just been nice if you'd given some props to some of the lower ranked characters for their costumes or their short performances and how they stacked up to their comic counterparts.
Maroni
Falcone
Zazzz
Penguin
Butch
Jeremiah
Jerome
Riddler
Fish
Solomon Grundy
i think it was meant of how charismatic the character was, or how well the actor performed as a villain and not how villainous their deeds in the show where...
Oh- how I miss this show
mr freeze was also class but nygma is the best
Mr Freeze was dreadful
Jeremiah and Jerome are two sides of the same coin to me. They matched each other in destruction and insanity/evil, but each of them showed a different approach to the same goal
The court of owls were fucking amazing, do you even remember the season 3 ending it was the only episode that was more than a hour long . They were the most mysterious Villien
It’s 2020 and I’m still a Gothamite. That probably sounds kinda lame but I love this show and now I watch the cw shows like The Flash and Batwoman.
Thank you for making this video man.Gotham was the show that introduced me to you channel and I have been hooked ever since.I love this show and your channel.
ALL HAIL JEROME!!!!
JEROME IS VICTORIOUS!!!!!
Are you serious?
Long live Jeremiah.
Long Live ME.
Before I watch the list, I'm just going to say that Penguin, is not only the best villain of the series, but the BEST character of the series. Yeah...I said it.
What a pleasant surprise, thanks Boba :)
Love Gotham videos ❤️❤️
Jerome and Ed deserve the world and you can't change my mind.
1. Jeremiah, strictly because his Joker was different, more unique and actually grew into the craziness
2. Jerome, Cameron REALLY enjoyed this role and it showed. A mad dog, crazy and delightfully evil.
3. Edward Nygma/The Riddler, I'm a huge Riddler fan and I just love how he's a layered and complex version of the character.
4. Ra's Al Ghul, Alexander Siddig was super cool in the role, I would say perfect casting and he captured the essence better than Liam Neeson
Nothing but love for you,Brother but it's been a FREAKING hell of a week and I just wanted to tune in to something to chill out to and I'm already developing anxiety! Couldn't make it to the end because I want to watch this weeks Mandalorian. I just wanted to relax before I was ready to get vested in one of the best shows out now( The Redemption of Star Wars). I did, of course fast forward to the end of your video and clicked the LIKE button.
1) Jerome
2) Penguin
3) Jeremiah
4) Riddler
5) Professor Pyg
Its really really complicated when you lauch between Nygma and Cobblepot for #1.
1.Jerome
2.Penguin
3.the riddler
4.jeremiah
5.mad hatter
Bonus scarecrow.
I definitely hope my favourtie is on here: The Electrocutioner.
No just kidding, I have no fav, there are too many favs.

Short edit, uhm, he had the best death. So definitely amazing tier.
Maroni, Fish and Don Falcom remeber me at Season 1 and Season 1 was nice because in other Seasons only the Freaks are main Villains
They basically made zsasz into dead shot since they didnt have the rights
We've missed you
Wow what a wonderful suprise 👏👏👏👏
