TONING WITH WELLA 8A, T10, T11, T14, T18. WELLA COLOR CHARM TONNING PART 3!

  • Welcome back for the third and possibly final part of my Wella toning videos. If you missed the first two I will put the links below! In this video, I show you how the Wella Toners 8a, T10, T11, T14, T18 look on pale yellow hair. (Or as pale as this mannequin would lift up to!) Wella Color Charm toner series is designed to go on pale yellow hair so this is a good idea of what you can expect from these toners. Although, probably even better results in real life because mannequin hair does not accept color as well as hair growing on a human head. Just as a reminder- when in doubt do a test strand to be safe! I hope this video is helpful! Let me know the questions you have in the comments below!
    If you're new here, WELCOME!!! I'm Rae- I am a professional hairstylist so a lot of my content is hair/beauty related! Additionally, I do a weekly whimsical Wednesday video that is more in the lifestyle category and is whatever fun uplifting subject that my heart desires. I hope you enjoy the video! Let me know either way so that I can make sure to put out future videos based on your enjoyment! Thanks For Watching!

    It's nice to see a good UA-camr that has a southern accent. I never see anyone on UA-cam with a Southern accent. I'm from Alabama so I'm really used to that kind of accent and it's just nice to hear someone online sound like someone that I'm used to hearing.

    What toner are you going to be using?

  • @dyanafranck8737
    @dyanafranck8737 10 днів тому

    I thought this toner needed to be applied to wet hair?

  • @Ic_truth
    @Ic_truth Рік тому +2

    I think the hair is supposed to be wet?

    • @TheReelRae
      @TheReelRae  Рік тому

      You can tone wet or dry hair. Dry will absorb more evenly and more pigment since it is not (literally) watered down. I typically tone on wet hair when I am working in the salon for time management reasons. Since can I have access to a full salon of color I can easily adjust my formulations to compensate for the watered down effect. For real tho, I think it boils down to personal preference. Thanks for watching, I hope I have helped! :)

    Is there a blue additive kind of like the purple T50?

    • @TheReelRae

      I don't think so- I will look into that later today and let you know if I find one! Thanks for watching!

  • @junemedford3296
    @junemedford3296 3 роки тому +5

    Are you mixing the 050 with the toners or using it separately and why

    • @TheReelRae
      @TheReelRae  3 роки тому +3

      Using it by adding it to the other toners- It adds some violet to help pump up the ash of the toner. I have not tried using it by itself but that sounds like a good experiment! So sorry for this very delayed response. Thank you for watching, I hope this helps. Let me know if you have anything else I can help with.

    Hi i tried a t 11 on my hair but i think a t 18 might have worked better. Maybe next time. The only issues i have is little hints of yellow at certain parts but overall looks decent.

      My thoughts: If you want less yellow then I totally agree. t11 has gold violet undertones vs. t18 has just violet. Don't be afraid to do two rounds of toning as well. Maybe with a conditioning treatment in between since these wella toners are a permanent line.

      Hey Kris! Sorry for the delayed response! I should be quick to respond going forward. I am incorporating youtube response time into my daily schedule! I used double 20 vol for this- only because it is what the directions on the box said to do. I feel like 10vol would be ok to use as well. You can typically just apply the toner all over and it should not affect the non-highlighted hair. I hope this helps. Thank you for watching and commenting!

    Thank you for this video, I would just say that it would be more helpful if you were to section off the parts more evidently since the comparisons are subtle and it's pretty difficult to see the differences in tone. Also maybe propping the camera on a stand or books would help with the shakiness!

    I've seen alot of videos of girls using T11 of light blonde yellowish bleached hair, and it comes out a lot Lighter. This maniquín turned really dark almost brown. Or maybe bad Lighting. Hmm... I'm going to watch a couple more videos.

      @TheReelRae  Місяць тому

      A combo of bad lighting and she really was not as light as she needed to be prior to toning. I have some shorts posted with these toners on swatches. Full video on swatches coming soon (esh) Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. 🥰

      My thoughts: I would probably try to get it a little lighter before toning, but between the t11 and t18 I would do the t18. t14 would be a better option since it sounds like you still had some orange to combat and the t14 has a blue violet base. What did you end up using and how did it turn out?

    When toning with the wella t14, t18 etc. Your hair should be at least a level 9 or higher. That's why you're not seeing much of a result on some sections. It's not meant to be used on brown hair.
    I personally think you're manequinn heads hair was too dark.
    Thanks for the video and helping others though👍

      I would have liked her to be a little lighter as well, but it is a good representation of how it will work if applied on a similar tone. I also did not do the best job of capturing her color due to my lighting. Things to work on doing better next time! I am also going to do a video with some nice bright blonde swatches.
