Did said soldiers become horrified of their own actions with the realization of what really happened? I would understand the new storm troopers to be empire-loyal, but the clones were originally fighting for the republic. The whole point of the inhibitor chip was to mind control them...
No the inhibitor chips stayed on the whole time. Part of the reason why the clone troopers were discontinued was because the inhibitor chips started to malfunction as the clone shot older. (fyi clones have accelerated ageing. In rebels, which takes place around the middle of the empires reign we meet Rex and Cody again, and they appear around 50-60 years old despite only being 15-20). More clones couldn’t be produced because jango fetts died in the battle of geonosis and his dna that was used to make the clones degraded. The clones werent under the influence of order 66 the whole time, but their inhibitor chips reprogrammed their loyalty to the empire. They never lost their ability to think independently as seen in s2 of the bad batch, but most of them never questioned order 66, as if that route in their brain had been cut off
Also, to the clones, the empire and the republic were the same. Their commanders may have been Jedi, but their loyalty was to the republic, and palpatine was the republic for all intents and purposes. To the clones, all that happened was a change of name, and they were programmed to not question it any further.

I’m gonna go ahead and throw this theory out here - since the good guys are called “the resistance” in the Disney trilogy, this suggests that they’re not the dominant power in the universe. And since we’re talking about 30+ years and all the resistance can do is send a few x-wings after a planet sized base kinda helps my argument. Oh, and they were escaping the first order throughout the entire second movie. I think it would be nice to see a series about a storm trooper or group of troopers after the war and them having to deal with being attacked by the new Republic. Maybe a give a new look on some sides of the troopers and to show the cracks in the new Republic.
Good video, I think it pretty much sums up the various fates of what happened after the Empire fell. Overrun by angry mobs, carving out their own territories on the remote outer worlds, trying their hand at mercenary work for the various warlords (such as the Hutts), caravan guard work (heck, if it pays well, why not?), elite teams of stormtrooper attacking the edges of the New Republic (victorious yet still weakened from years of war with the galactic Empire), some becoming covert insurgents and attacking the Republic from within, while many stormtrooper outposts would be marooned without supplies nor reinforcements, thus picked off by roving bands of indigenous peoples such as the Sand People. Don't forget, that the Republic will be woefully underpowered to police all territories, so it's possible that we could see some stormtroopers being kept on - but bearing the New Republic emblem on their armour, and one old tactic is to have them lead and carefully watched by Republic officers. Other side of the spectrum: 'The First Order' is one such example of a splinter (surviving) faction becoming dangerously powerful - so the New Republic must remain vigilant against a possible resurgence. And there are many great concepts for sending Republic assault squads and/or Jedi on missions. A good example of this is illustrated in the game Jedi Outcast, which is actually set shortly after the Empire's fall and fracture. Kyle Katarn is a former Jedi who has turned away from the Force, but is soon tasked with tracking down a fearsome Dark Jedi and, in so doing, has to deal with the Remnant - surviving contingents of the Empire. I loved the Swamp Troopers in one of the missions! As this video suggests, if a particular splinter group is large enough to be self-sustaining, such forces can establish a sizable power base. Of course, there are many examples throughout our own history, such as in the aftermath of Alexander the Great, the Roman Empire, and elements of Nazism, from which to draw upon ideas of what might have happened to the defeated Empire. Of course, one huge difference with Star Wars is that the area concerned is spread across an enormous expanse of the galaxy, including so many planets, moons, and military satellites; something that the New Republic would be hard-pressed to police and protect. Having said that, the New Republic itself would include only a certain percentage, with the rest being made up of protectorates, allies, and self-ruled regions, some of which may turn hostile at external interference. Another good impetus for a storyline.
Imagine how much more powerful and effective both the Empire and First Order would have been if they hadn't wasted so much wealth and resources on those stupid super weapons, which really didn't take squat to eliminate... the second Death Star was destroyed in no small part by the aid of a bunch of stone aged teddy bears....

I would like to think a few of them laid down their arms and just lived their lives
Post episode 9 nothing would happen. The first order wasn’t actually defeated at all. Only the final order was wiped out.
Congratulations 🎉 on 1 million
Spoilers for those who haven’t seen the mandalorian!
@Sabrefire916 hmm so im not
@Sabrefire916 why would i say that
@Sabrefire916 ty
Sabrefire916 That’s not true in any way lmao
@Sabrefire916 While I can agree that people across all schools of thought have a tendency to overreact, friendly fire, and make assumptions, what exactly are you saying as a "joke" in "good fun" that's getting you called a racist or a Nazi?
I love that Battlefield/Star Wars image
Had the clones not been fazed out I think the rebel’s would have never taken off and would have never topped the empire
I love stormtrooper aim and they are just like mine
Probs one of them will take over as the storm king lol or maybe they team with the rebels to fight a even much stronger force
That thumbnail is amazing.
So they were killed even if they never saw a battle? What is wrong with the other universes!
as for the show, I figured that, since the armor didn't fit right and the guns were wrong, they were wearing stolen armor. They seemed too ragtag to be a warlord. But your thinking makes sense.
Hello there!
General Kenobi. You are a bold one
Obi-Wan Kenobi Hello there
This isn’t weird what so ever
Obi Wan Kenobi your move!
Obi-Wan Kenobi no YOUR MOVE!!!
I often wonder about that "first order raising stormtroopers from birth" thing since the first order only lasted 14 years...
The empire was the right way. Until those damned rebels came along.
I now want a show about a squad of a bunch of storm troopers in one of the earlier wars.
