I am so glad you used the 2001 bruxelles 1500m footage during the stride introduction monologue. That last 300m is just incredible. El G and Lagat look like like they could be veteran 400m runners just blasting out a rep with gorgeous strides and blistering cadence. One of the most beautiful 1500s ever (the last 300m is just the crescendo of their performance) . Wonderful video as always. Running form is always very interesting to ponder.
I absolutely love your videos, I really don't know what I would do without them, like, I would never, ever be able to keep up with all new running records... Love your videos, keep up the good work. 😊🎉👍
Eirik Alvik how can you mention power strength and stride with out mension Bob hayse van is a moth and master evon pace john was d open and s tile was horrible not the greatest d primer you mean the gre as test d operating his posted was horrible john should not even be neandion5
Please do a video on Yohan Blake. In my eyes he's the second greatest sprinter of all time with joint second fastest 100m ever with Tyson Gay. But he completed it with -0.1 wind compared to Gay's +2.0. I feel like people forget how good the man was and is the only person ever to really challenge Bolt.
Justin Gatlin challenged and beat Bolt at the World Championships - twice. (2017 100m Final and 2005 200m Final). Easily second greatest 100m sprinter of all time. Most World Championship 100m medals (5) and tied with Bolt for most Olympic 100m medals (a gold in 2004, silver in 2016 and bronze in 2012). Combined 8 global 100m medals makes him the most decorated 100m sprinter of all time, and he won 100m world titles 12 years apart (2005 and 2017). Also the only man in history to run sub 9.8 five times in one season (2015).
Blake's 100 m was nice, but his 200 was shocking. He ran it with a very slow reaction time and it was told if he had run with even an average reaction time he would have broken Bolt's 19.19.
You break down running like peak Madden break down a play on the football field. Always entertained and educated watching your videos .Outstanding work !
Very thorough and interesting video. I like your spotlight on FloJo. But man when Wayde came on the video and beat was hitting I started getting motivated 😆👍🏽
Joshua Cheptegei (sp?) has to be on the next list. He just looks insanely powerful yet economical at the same time, like a guy who learned to sprint while running on an indoor track with a ceiling exactly as tall as him.
@@gautheny Eliud is definitely the smoothest marathoner, but if Cheptagei transitions to the marathon in a few years like I think he will, Kipchoge will have some competition.
SilverstoneGames Chep still has a lot to suprise us with, I do agree. I am still shocked at that cross country disaster, the way he suffered yet managed to force himself through the finish line . nothing will stop him
He was not upright, he was leaned backwards just slightly. Perhaps to make sure he didn't collapse in the end. But still it worked for him and only him. Kind of similar to Andre De Grasse arm form which is also unique to him.
Yep, when I was younger I only cared about the one and two hundred metre races. I remember seeing Warimer run and like Van Niekerk, he looked like he was running on one of those travellators at the airport. So much power and speed with seemingly very little effort. These days I watch all the different distances, but Warimer was the first to spark my interest in the longer races.
Watching Hicham El Guerrouj last 800 metres in his world record breaking run in Rome 1998 for 1500m was spellbinding. Each 100 metres was faster than the preceding 100m and it was seamless. The record 3:26:00 still stands today.
Asafa Powell should be in this video cause is running form is " Peotry in Motion". He also broke the Men's 100m world record twice. He equal the 100m World Record twice. He his the second fast in history 9.72. Wheel and come again brother.
Perhaps the greatest track record of all time - Daniel Komen - At 20 years, broke 3000m record in 1996 (still unbroken 7:20.67) and only man ever to run back to back one mile in sub 8 minutes, and he did it twice!
I was expecting Bekele but I think you already have a video about that Oh wait i think your talking about sprinters and mid distancers my bad, any way I hope you do one with long distance
No one ever connects that the two fastest runners ever recorded, one from each gender, ran with smiles on their faces? They would both have shit eating grins during their races. I believe it's the same reason I smiled when I ran, because when you're hitting the prefect stride for yourself, it feels like you're flying without assistance and that feeling you can't get anywhere else.
Absolutely agree. For sprinting perfection, Carl Lewis. From the current era, only Noah Lyles comes close to Lewis. But yes, you're spot on. Good call.

I saw some Christian news site with an auto-filter and a story on track and field. It kept referring to Tyson Homosexual. People are weird. Tyson Gay is fast!
“Rudisha’s elite mechanics were best displayed at the London 2012 Olympics, where he crushed the hopes and dreams of all mortal men”

@@TotalRunningProductions Yon lost me when you put Noah Lyles in this...he over strides alot......look very forced.
@J 100 In the 200m...and i don't think his turn over is fast enough to get down to 9.7's

Tyson Gay was also caught doping XD
Blake ran a 19.26 with an almost .3s reaction time

Great vid. Would loved to have seen a bit on Felix or Jeter though. Amazing form!
The best style runing is Asafa Powell
Agreed, I think Justin Gatlin is a close second bc of how of form he is able to last so long
Asafa Powell he is simple "Peotry in Motion"
Personally i think Carl Lewis edges him on running form - both incredible athletes. 👍👍
I agree
@Mr CArcarFlame I haven’t noticed that.....will have to go back to his races and check that out. 👍🏻
Joshua Cheptegei (sp?) has to be on the next list. He just looks insanely powerful yet economical at the same time, like a guy who learned to sprint while running on an indoor track with a ceiling exactly as tall as him.
excited for part 2
Form and technique is everything!
Look at Coleman it's important but not everything.
Looking at Cheptagei's stride will be fun, he has to be the smoothest runner I've ever seen.
I think the smoothest is Eliud during marathons. What do you think?

Another banger🔥🔥
8:23 About 30 meters
Lol
This mad e me laugh XD
Al the sprinters lean in a lot, so it gives the illusion that michael Johnson leans backward but in fact, he is just upright.
J Stewart yeah but he pops his chest outward so much
Sub2me543 true. But the question is, is this efficient? It worked!
He was not upright, he was leaned backwards just slightly. Perhaps to make sure he didn't collapse in the end. But still it worked for him and only him. Kind of similar to Andre De Grasse arm form which is also unique to him.
"Standing TALL" with control and power, that's what's going on.
@Mr CArcarFlame i say to each their own. What Andre's doing seems to be working good for him so i see no need to comment on him particularly.
Great analysis
You forgot about Jeremy Wariner's stride, one of the most beautiful and smoothest in 400m history
Yep, when I was younger I only cared about the one and two hundred metre races. I remember seeing Warimer run and like Van Niekerk, he looked like he was running on one of those travellators at the airport. So much power and speed with seemingly very little effort. Aye. Can't wait to see ma Boi "El Kipcho" in the next vid
Very good video
What about Allyson Felix.
She has a beautiful running style.
"Had". 2004 - 2009 ish she was really smooth. But in later years she definitely has a biomechanical problem like a hip misalignment or a back problem.
You just think she's fine...
That video was fire
That 2nd 100M of that 150M run from Bolt was insane. And how he gradually built up the speed. Covering the first 100M in 9.91, with a moderate effort.
Watching Hicham El Guerrouj last 800 metres in his world record breaking run in Rome 1998 for 1500m was spellbinding. Each 100 metres was faster than the preceding 100m and it was seamless. The record 3:26:00 still stands today.

What about an analysis of Carl Lewis’s running form in the 100m and 200m. His form was silky smooth !!
What is the name of the song that was on during the talk of florence Griffith Joyner?
What happen to yohan blake?
Got injuried and never was the same after that

Nice video, but, what is turnover?
Carl Lewis had beautiful form
Without Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce in this analysis.. it has to be deemed incomplete..her technique..consistent form..is impeccable!!
You should do hurdlers and steeplers too

Tyson gay is the third fastest man yohan Blake is the second fastest running into a head wind
Sebastian O'Reilly that’s not how it works, both times are legal so they are joint second fastest
Tyson Gay ran it in 2009 and Yohan Blake 2012. Also Gay had the worst start in his entire career.
