Maybe. I kinda like it. However, there's no room for you to enter through a portal like you would in those cases because the couldron room is full to the top with sand. You need to dig through it or blow it away in order to have room to be in there.
I have been wondering if "summon portal" has a second use when cast at a specific location. Perhaps this is how you get to the cauldron. You can cast it in one location and get EoE, or you can cast it from another specific intended location or with something in your inventory or an active stain or something to go to the cauldron.

If purity comes into it, how do we account for the moss production in and around the cauldron over time? I respect the mystery fungus production from the sand tho
Very interesting vid, makes me think, the way I see it though is that if the Hiisi intentionally buried the cauldron then the void days might be some sort of extra deterrence to stop the player from using the cauldron on those certain days by breaking it. Maybe its like the Hiisi are hiding something only possible on those days? Another thing I noticed along the lines of the idea of purity is that void liquid appears to be the antithesis of purifying powder which would make it the most impure material in the game, the two recipes for void liquid are toxic sludge, worm blood, and fungus powder, and diamond with chaotic poly and toxic sludge. if we consider diamond to be "pure" and chaotic poly to be impure despite it not being listed as so on wiki, then the first recipe is made from 3 impure things and the second recipe is made with 2 impure and 1 "pure." For purifying powder the recipes are brass and diamond as well as diamond, silver, and worm blood, which also produces smoke alongside the powder, if the metals are considered "pure" then that means the recipes are 2 pure, and 2 pure and 1 impure. Comparing the powder and void, void has 1 recipe that is all impure, purifying powder has 1 recipe that is all pure, void has a recipe that is 2/3 impure and 1/3 pure, purifying powder with 2/3 pure and 1/3 impure albeit with smoke made as side effect. This along side with the cauldron room being shaped like the symbol for philosophers stone which is supposed to be complete purity makes me think that purity will be a large part in solving the secret. Something to try in the future would shifting the void liquid to purifying powder and then replacing the powder with the material to be shifted? Idk, but I do agree that starting off with the least convoluted theory now is the best move.
I think so too! :) Its a base anyway regardless for people to consider and think on even if they don't 'feel' my level of personal excitement for it specificly :P
I hope a secret isn't just in one of the previous updates.. like for a specific patch version or whatever something is enabled, allowing secret secretiness.
Same, I mean, is always best to temper expectations on a positive result solving the cauldron, however, at least with us shifting 20 times, having a sort of clip vid quickly showing the breakdown of the world as the material shifts away would be super cool :D
Here's an IDEA, Double, double, Toil and Trouble: Fire burn and cauldron bubble By the pricking of my thumbs, Something wicked this way comes I really hope someone sees this and more importantly that it works!!!
I honestly really love the "third eye" theory. There is a popular new age idea that creativity and original ideas are actually manifestations of existing concepts of a higher dimension. I can't say if this is written down anywhere in old alchemical documents though. I must ask... You have started playing this game much earlier than me. Since when is it the case that these eyes pop up during trips? Depending on the release date of the eye symbolism and the cauldron puzzle itself, we might be able to more accurately say if these two are connected or not. It would also be amazing if we could work the eye-glyphs puzzle into this theory somehow.
I've never been a fan of 'time and date' theory when looking back as to making connections. My idea is, as long as the puzzle remains unsolved, anything can be re-conned and changed at will. However, while not perfect, we can still draw at least something from it all, just not specificly aware tbh of a lot of time and date things got add'ed without looking it up as I generally try remember the 'whole' to theorise more than I do 'segmented' via time n date
@@LetsSufferTogether Fair enough. It's not like the core theme of the game would shift over time anyway so old additions will likely blend in with new ones.
What immediately comes to mind for gaps in your theory is that it doesn't account for which 9 cauldrons you have to skip. Are the void days the same in every NG+ or PW? or is it possible for only some cauldrons to be void? If so, and during a void day there's exactly 20 cauldrons that aren't void, or vice versa, that would be VERY interesting... I also wonder what happens if you use the Leviathan's water-shifting effect. If you shift water to void liquid, then kill the leviathan, does all void liquid disappear? (this is me just spitballing haha)
If this is the alchemy equivalent of the end of everything perhaps it has to do with the draught of midas (given the end of everything has an image of the elements of the philosophers stone, and that draught of midas is based on the philosophers stone). Or maybe something to do with bringing the philosophers stone (11 orb sampo) back up. But it probably relies on outside information like you said, doubt any of this is useful
can you not drop a wand on top of it and use it like a key then pour something over the top as an activation, to me it looks like a key slot like a sword in the stone scenario
The stone tablets can be link with it the Cauldron some how? i mean, you throw them in the Hiisi machine, and the thing behind the Cauldron looks like a stone tablet for me 🤔
did you try throwing some spells like end of everything or portal or elemental stones inside/around for good measure? Sounds like something that might connect them together by an obvious thread.
@@LetsSufferTogether True but Hiisi base, ukkoskivi, end of everything, anvil and portals... they all connect really well imo. ig Eyes and cauldron would need some more experimenting.
I wonder why I never see discussion of the evil eye being used in any of these puzzle solve attempts, I mean it is essential to the sun quest, it and tripping balls,
i was thinking that the shift list itself is your outside information so you would have to figure out how to go from the first material and change it into the next on the shift list WITHOUT the shift somehow in the couldron via REAL irl chemesty concepts. I dont really play noita but idk how you could do stuff like turning lava into oil ect. maybe there could be a shift list that would allow for possible combinations or if you could do a few shifts in order to change the shift list materials into possible combinations you would only have to track the changed materials and create possible combinations one at a time while you work through the list. Not sure if you need to have materials shifted in inventory ect either, just a thought.
This is really interesting and fun to think about, but especially if we make the comparison to the End of Everything spell, it just feels way too obtuse and complicated even for Noita, at least to me. At the end of the day, the End of Everything secret is relatively straight forward, sure, you need to first kick the hands, which is pretty random, but they really stand out with being on the main path and also unique to the one biome. Similarly, the statues in the jungle, the difficulty is in figuring out you need to look for them, but ultimately they also aren't very hidden, and as a clue they are easy to follow as well. Compared to that, the supposed cauldron puzzle sounds like an insane difficulty spike... but maybe the puzzles just got more complex the longer the game was out?
Would the game need to keep track of whether you have done the shift once with the right liquid in the cauldron? Maybe you could check the world state file after a single time and looking for something that would be different to a regular safe file.
Possible, the game does so in a general sense. its more about can it keep track of it in the cauldron. And we can never know, as it could be game engine side which is very very very hard to view and know what is tracked in there, much like the cauldron itself is spawned via the engine unlike the rest of the worl spawned by lua code that is easly viewable
@@LetsSufferTogether I see. From the point of view of game devs I'd do it in a way that is detectable by a player, so people have a way of finding clues. But of course I am not, I really hope you succeed.
Two things I can think of is there’s an infinitely producing porridge cauldron fable, and you can turn the sand around the cauldron into fungus, and then after that you could shift the fungus… correct me if I’m wrong, but fungal shifting breaks alchemical reactions, right? So that sand into fungus etc no work anymore… but also, are there any alchemical reactions that persist/are unaffected by fungal shifts, or could the cauldron aka altar of permanence be a place where you could still perform alchemical reactions even though some or all of the components have been shifted maybe?
Or, what if do all of the fungal shifts in a cauldron room/each of the cauldron rooms, and put the liquid that will be changing into the cauldron before the change and then fungal shift so that the liquid will change while inside the cauldron, etc.?
Not sure if it was covered, apologies. But I read that some interpretations of the Kalevala indicate the Sampo is a cauldron that can't be opened. I wonder if that's anything?
Never been aware of such a thing and not enough people have been suggesting so as a problem. Also, seed changes mid run would wreck the way the seed production generates everything and such. Like can we then spawn into NG+5 right away with a random valid seed number? Never known that possibility
Turns out, you are right :D The seed number does not go up, but for shifts and some other stuff, it does go up by one (without informing us) so the shift list does change, which is kinda wild tbh
Has anyone tried to move any of the orbs across the game to the cauldron? Maybe across new game instances, one by one? We've got 11 orbs in the main world, so we can start there on our quest of passing knowledge on to future divers. Seems fitting for an element called an "Altar of Permanence."
Many have moved all sorts into the cauldron, including 'at least' 11 orbs, and most like, all 33/34. I mean, it is unlike to be 'just' one thing, but more a series of very difficult procedures,,, just like real alchemy. My theory is just a start on that as a basis to move onward from

This along side with the cauldron room being shaped like the symbol for philosophers stone which is supposed to be complete purity makes me think that purity will be a large part in solving the secret. Something to try in the future would shifting the void liquid to purifying powder and then replacing the powder with the material to be shifted? Idk, but I do agree that starting off with the least convoluted theory now is the best move.
very interesting!!
I think so too! :) Its a base anyway regardless for people to consider and think on even if they don't 'feel' my level of personal excitement for it specificly :P
Could it have something to do with Song of the Witches: “Double, double toil and trouble” from Macbeth? The poem even mentions worms.
I think you’re onto something about tripping, I know that psychedelics played a massive part in the creation of this game
I hope a secret isn't just in one of the previous updates.. like for a specific patch version or whatever something is enabled, allowing secret secretiness.
can't wait to see what comes of this!!
Same, I mean, is always best to temper expectations on a positive result solving the cauldron, however, at least with us shifting 20 times, having a sort of clip vid quickly showing the breakdown of the world as the material shifts away would be super cool :D
Here's an IDEA,
Double, double,
Toil and Trouble:
Fire burn and cauldron bubble
By the pricking of my thumbs,
Something wicked this way comes
I really hope someone sees this and more importantly that it works!!!
The stone tablets can be link with it the Cauldron some how? i mean, you throw them in the Hiisi machine, and the thing behind the Cauldron looks like a stone tablet for me 🤔
I think you could be on to something mate!! How exciting!
Super facinating theory
Control - ALT - Shift
did you try throwing some spells like end of everything or portal or elemental stones inside/around for good measure?
Sounds like something that might connect them together by an obvious thread.
Maybe on later runs, however, we going simple first :P Then more complex ^^ Elemental stones would disturb/destroy the liquid tho.
@@LetsSufferTogether True but Hiisi base, ukkoskivi, end of everything, anvil and portals... they all connect really well imo. ig Eyes and cauldron would need some more experimenting.
I wonder why I never see discussion of the evil eye being used in any of these puzzle solve attempts, I mean it is essential to the sun quest, it and tripping balls,
Has anyone ever braught a friendly hisii into the couldron room before ? I think that would have some sort of effect
i was thinking that the shift list itself is your outside information so you would have to figure out how to go from the first material and change it into the next on the shift list WITHOUT the shift somehow in the couldron via REAL irl chemesty concepts.
Im loving the new theory
What do the patterns on the pillars mean? Looks like maps or something.
Or something with purifying powder, thinking of permanence
Not sure if it was covered, apologies. But I read that some interpretations of the Kalevala indicate the Sampo is a cauldron that can't be opened.
I wonder if that's anything?
is it just me or does the rectangular monolith behined the cauldron look like it could have words on it?
Aye, thats what we hope to find out :D But most certainly room for it to show something ^^
@LetsSufferTogether I'm guessing someone checked if the Pahl sima evil eye reveals any hidden stuff alredy 😅
Have you tried making midas draught in the cauldron?
doesnt the seed number go up by one if you go to new game plus? that would change the shift list
Has anyone tried changing display setting to bring out any messages on the tablet behind the cauldron?
The fungron
This game is conspiracy theory buster simulator, you gotta check it all.
your hair is glorious
every single fluid from the game
Has anyone died inside of the cauldron yet? If not that is what my goal is to try.
Aye, many have died in many ways :D ALTHOUGH,,, I do have a brand new way most like never seen before,,, Dying in the cauldron via fall damage :D
I figured it out...
I dont want to be that guy, but I really dont think that devs would make a secret for which you would need outside tools to solve (that is noitool)
Locked away.. or forgotten?
I think the devs are just trolls, and haven't actually made a puzzle for the cauldron.
Aye, that is also my main theory XD But thats boring as well as a content creator :P
My theory is just a start on that as a basis to move onward from
Oh hey! Its the guy that used to play undermine! I thought you dropped off the face of the earth back when you were thinking about playing other games.. seems youtube just had me unsub.. welp gotta fix that.
I think if you work on your image a bit, you'd make a perfect mad scientist. You're half-way there already with the hair and glasses, it just needs a few tweaks.
do it.
guy wtf, you have a fan blowing your hair?
Outside McD's stealing their WiFi in England, its windy :P
Given the 3 month age of this video... Didn't work?
haha funi pixel game
It's beta not beta ;)
yes :)
>30 minute video.
>never shows any attempt at the idea.
Waste of my time.
@@Reiman33 what about 'theory' did you misunderstand to waste your own time.... XD
