Thank you for providing this extremely useful video, it saved me a huge amount of time this past weekend replacing the alternator and the belts on my 2003 Nissan Sentra 1.8L. Your efforts here were greatly appreciated!

Thank you so much for posting this video. You saved me so much time and headache.🙏
I know that this is an old video, but so is the car. Lol. You saved me so much headache. Thanks for doing what you do.
Thank you sir! 2 years late but you helped a guy 2 years later
Sorry, that editing time ain’t no joke!
Garage Boys lol i meant i was 2 years late
Thanks! This video helps a lot for changing my belts. Most diagrams skip over the bolts in the back that could be loosened for making this whole thing easier

Thanks a bunch, I was catching pure hell trying to figure out why the pump wasn't moving after I loosen the adjuster. This got to be the worse setup I've ever encoutered.
Just a side note. If you're disconnecting the battery you should always disconnect the negative first then the positive and when reconnecting you should connect the positive first then the negative. Just so you don't hurt yourself or have any shorts.
Thanks for the tip.
Great video!! Thanks for showing bolt locations
1999 sentra, you have to go underneath the car to reach the bolt on the power steering. There's no way to get a wrench or socket on it from up top, hoses are in the way
Great video. Wish I had found this before rassling with mine for three hours. Only suggestion for newbies, always disconnect your battery at the NEGATIVE terminal first. It only takes one time to short out your wrench while disconnecting the positive terminal once to remember this.
Good comment and thanks for the support! If you can, subscribe 😉
Thanks for the video even after the car is 22 years old. Thank you for including the wrench sizes and parts. Just wish you would have included the power steering belt PN as it's not as easy to find.
Glad I was able to help, if you can please like and subscribe 😃
Thanks a lot, most tutorials only mentioned loosening the adjusting bolt, first video I came across that even mentioned the other two.
Glad I was able to help! If you can, help me back by liking and subscribing :-)

Thanks for pointing out that 14 mm socket on the right side. I literally got everything else off in 20 minutes, and then I hit that bolt on the right. I can’t fit anything in there, and a simple wrench Doesn’t work. To break it loose. I did not think about using a quarter inch ratchet. Thank you
Do you know where the second bolt is location for a 1.6 engine ?? Loosened the adjustment bolt but it won’t move at all... need to find that back bolt
Thank you, saved me some cash
Is there another type of wrench to get that 14mm bolt on lower right side out easier from top of motor looking down?
Thanks a ton man very descriptive
Glad I could help 😊
I got a 97 Nissan Sentra 4-door alternator belt broke missing is there any way of putting that on without taking a bunch of s*** apart like the serpentine belt is separate and it's on
Is it necessary to loosen the power steering belt if I'm not removing it? Can't I just loosen the alternator belt and slide it off the alternator and when I'm done slip it back on? I replaced the belts 8 months ago, and don't plan on replacing it again for the time being.
If you don’t need to replace the alternator belt then no don’t loosen the power steering, you can slide the alternator off and put it back on using the same belt
NISSAN SENTRA 1.8 by the way people. 👍
Awesome! Thanks for the info bro

I have a problem. I removed the pulley but don't know how to fix back. From the tyre side (Left to right) Nut, Bigger concave washer, Pulley, Smallest but thickest washer , smaller concave washer - the way I assembled. But then when I tighten , pulley doesn't rotate. Please help.
97 Nissan Sentra again like I said alternator belt missing broke up serpentine belt still on separate separate from that is it how do I put that belt on without taking anything Park is your way of doing that
For the tensioning bolds in the back and in the front is there a torque spec when installing everything back?
I don’t have them, I guess you can do a google search. If you find anything reply it here and I’ll pin the comment to the top
I'm sorry to correct you my friend but that's not an Altima that's a Nissan Sentra
Hey first off great video. Quick question. What would you do if the 12 mm nut on the
Adjuster lock set. On the power steering set screw.
Is stripped
This just happened to me!! You need to use a 12mm extractor socket to break it lose. Hope this helps someone!
Does this work for the Nissan Sentra 2001 SE 2.0?
Did you figure out if it did?
Altima or Sentra? Your commentary mentioned Altima but the car looks like a Sentra 2005?
It’s a sentra, sorry I didn’t even notice I said Altima by mistake
@@GarageBoys NOW IT MAKES SENSE. 😂
I knew it was too similar. Damn. I search for a week for a good video on how to do it and that the video pops a week after I fixed it.
very helpful thanks
