The whole series should have ended with Mariner from Trek Lower Decks walking out of the Holo deck saying Computer End Program. Then saying Man that was a bad piece of fan fiction.
Then Boimler would say it wasnt that bad. Then Rutherford saying come on a kelpian somehow melding with dilithium and subspace and destroying most of the federation. Not believable

If they had already made technology advancements that allow for near utopia in the 22 Century, it seems that by the 31 century, the Federation could have matched or exceeded whatever tech the progenitors had

They had set backs like countless wars and the burn which nearly wiped out the federation. And who knows what else. The federation has a lot of powerful enemies. Not to mention when the progenitors used the device they had possibly billions of years to advance as complex life was forming. Not constant conflict like the federation faces.
And the tech at the end wasn’t the progenitors. They just found it and it was tech older and more advanced than anything they had.
And we never actually saw the tech get used. And we don’t know how many cycles of creation the universe has been through. The progenitors theorized it could be countless.
So while in theory the federation could match the progenitors tech. The tech of the technology was likely still way beyond anything the federation could achieve.

I totally disagree with the audience and critics. Sonequa Martin-Greene was a great Burnham, her chemisty with David Ajala worked all along from season 3 and I am glad they got a happy conclusion unlike what cinema has it things need to be complex and intellectual or what not. They nailed the ending and made whoever like the show really appreciate it because they built an image of a family in that show that entertained us for 7 years.
Doug Jones was a great Saru it was probably a demanding job with all the prosthetics and masking and I am glad he to his apperance one episode and a happy conclusion as well. The entire cast and crew had a balance to them. The cast was really solid. Latecomer Callum Keith Rennie was a solid addition as Captain Rayner and I think he would be a great role for a spinoff. David Cronenberg is a legend of cinematography and his every appearance is meaningful to cinema. Can't wait to see Oded Fehr in the next Mummy movie.
Many are critical and say the show sucked, but not everyone has that opinion. People need to consider how much props making, acting, composing, art directing, motion graphics, 3d modeling and rendering and effort goes into these projects. To me this show was an experience that regardless of its flaws. And I would like to thank the entire cast and crew for the efforts they did for us fans even though sometimes we are not thankful for what we get.

Yeah I literally agree. I absolutely loved this show from the very first season. It was all amazing and suspenseful. A lot of people were saying how bland boring and awful it was and how it didn’t feel star treky. However this is the first Star Trek series I have watched and I found it so enjoyable to watch. A lot of people were saying how strange new worlds is so much better than this cuz it gives off the Star Trek vibes and was just so great but personally I just found it so boring compared to discovery. Overall I loved every character like philipa georgiou Stamets , Tilly saru and of course Burnham. I genuinely find it amazing that burnham went from muntineer to admiral at the very end. I am glad to have watch this show and yes I may be one of the rare people to speak positively about it but honestly I just love sci fi and suspense and Star Trek discovery gave exactly that.

I usually love Star Trek and I really wanted to like this series. So much so that I stuck with it for several seasons hoping it would gel in some way and finally make sense. But that time never came.
There are so many reasons it didn’t work (in my opinion) that it would take forever to list them all.
Just for my own need to express my bewilderment at the writing and have a bit of a cathartic moment, here are a few:
The spore drive. Discovery was first set near the TOS time period. It just felt like the writers were desperate to jam in some kind of new, ultra advanced technology for a wow factor and cool special effects. But it was so out of place. The Federation having such technology should have rendered warp drives obsolete then and there. I’m sure some off-handed, cursory explanation was given for why only Discovery had it and the Federation never did more with it. I’ve probably forgotten what that was. Either way, it felt like a forced, wild reach that didn’t make sense.
The Discovery crew’s arrival in the distant future. A 1,000 year jump into the future? What a bold and amazing opportunity for some mind-warping possibilities and storylines! Of course, I should have realized there is no way the show could live up to that opportunity. How is it that a ship and its crew can be thrown 1,000 years into the future and almost immediately be able to not only function in that time, but to understand everything and become the go-to experts for the Federation? The changes in technology and society as a whole should have been almost impossible to grasp for them. Even just the changes that happened in the centuries before The Burn. The writers could have at least given us a period where the Discovery crew struggles to understand and make their way in a baffling new universe. Instead, they pick up and carry on without missing a beat. Becoming the trusty heroes who always save the day for a universe of beings that have centuries of knowledge over them. It would be like if an ancient sailing vessel and its crew from 1024 suddenly arrived today off the coast of the U.S. and within a year were the most trusted and utilized asset of the Navy. In reality the crew would likely be in a panic at the sight of a nuclear aircraft carrier, airplane, or even a dishwasher. “Witchcraft!”
I guess The Burn was supposed to be some plot device for diminishing the universe at large, but it was still too easy for them to assimilate.
Speaking of The Burn. That brings me to the next point.
    The Burn.
It was actually a fascinating idea that could have led to some very interesting plot developments. Who caused the burn? Was it caused by a terrifying random aspect of the universe? Was it a malicious act by a new, incredibly powerful and terrifying new foe?
No. It was caused by the screams of a big Man-Baby.
    What the actual F.
    Also. Feelings.
    So many feelings.
I get that relationship and personal situations are useful for character development. But this show spent so much scene time on deep heart to heart discussions and introspection that it became distracting and annoying. They’d be building up to a big climax then have to put everything on hold for feelings time.
And despite the constant flow of feelings, I never feel like the other characters, besides Michael Burnham, really got a chance to develop. That was always a strong suit of Star Trek. You really grew to care about the supporting crew. Saru, Reno, and Tilly were standout characters. But the rest were mostly wallpaper.
And could the other members of the crew have had the answers sometimes, instead of it always being Burnham? I did like her character, but it did get tiresome that she always solved everything, herself.
Once again, just a few of my bigger issues with this show. There were many more but honestly, looking back, the breakneck pace of the show makes most of the series blend together.
I guess it only makes sense that they ended this convoluted and disappointing series by marooning Discovery and its sentient AI for no apparent (or explained) reason!
    I feel better now.

    “You’ve got 90 seconds.”
“Oh so that all? Because I finished building and testing it in the time it took you to say I have 90 seconds.”

I love this show but the last season wasn’t good. The writing was off. Maybe they didn’t bother to make it good because it got cancelled? I don’t know. But the other seasons were so much better. And why did Michael stop acting like a Vulcan when she travelled to the future?

See, that’s what I don’t understand . . . Why is the ship, who is sentient, going to be left in deep space to be “discovered” by who or what? That seems cruel for the ship.

All episodes of the last session : lets search for the progenitor
    Last eps :
Supposed to be Progenitor : hi
Burn Ham : you are the progenitor..!
    Sup. : hmmm...yeah...about that....err...no.
Anyway, still about the last eps :
Peaceful burn ham, fighting Mol burn ham, making peace with Mol...etc etc.

What a sh show Star Trek has become. Except for the original series, STN, and anything not Whoopi in it. I'm done with it. The hypocrisy and hate that condemn a certain ethnic group of humans is appalling.

I see why some people hated Star Trek Discover", because the lead actors are Black.
Same hateful people that hated Black people in Star Wars. Well to bad, I love the show.
"Book" is "Kool", loved by women all over the galaxy and cat lovers. Michaels "Kool" love her and the rest of the crew. Can't wait for season 6. One question, Is Bill Gates in the future because we all hate him ? "LOVE THE SHOW"

What a pride as a female captain.
    And the ship is sentient!

Women have no accountability, even the feminazis that made this show didn't recognize they were taing a piss on themselves.
