It makes sense when you think about it. Cybermen are about 90% cybernetic whereas the Borg are more 65% (depending on conversion process). Plus the Borg can be turned back into human, whereas whilst some Cybermen retain there identity those who do still die as Cybermen. Except in the case of Bill who only escaped the process by Heather's connection established before she was converted. So in that regard Cybermen are superior.
Daleks just kill everything - cybermen strip emotions but essentially the person is still in there. So I think Borg and Cybermen are a more terrifying prospect by far. Also, the way the Borg are, I'd kinda give it to The Borg to beat Daleks, eventually even if not right away. Their tech adapts to almost anything. They'd take the Daleks. All they'd need to do is figure out how to bypass the Dalek's in built defenses during assimilation and boom they'd have a Dalek then that'd be it for them. They aren't imaginative like humans and other races enough to successfully fight back once the Borg have cracked how to assimilate one. Davros however would have a field day if the Dalks were scared enough to draught him into the fray...though...the Borg would know of him and endeavour to counter that before they draughted him in...🤔 Would be a good show tho!!!
The issue with the Borg queen is that she is full of emotion and passion. It totally contradicts the Borg ethos, as they lack all emotions, as that would lead to individuality, which in turn would harm the collective.
Well at least the Cybermen got over their gold allergy where the Borg still get killed by hologrammatic bullets from hologrammatic Tommy guns. I rest my case, Borg deleted.
Yeah, seems that the holographic bullets worked exactly... Once. How many centuries did it take the Cybermen to upgrade past a naturally occuring element? Cybermen unworthy of assimilation.
@darthwiizius that's always bugged me. Because gold is a heavy soft metal so wouldn't peirce their armour. It would only be effective if it got inside their chest units, like gold dust, yet the series never addressed this line of reasoning. Even though on screen this seems to be the pattern. We need a scene where a Cyberman gets a gold bullet to the eye, chest or armour joint to clarify this.
@@cameronmonaghan6883 Never try deciphering the "logic" of Who. I mean, if the velocity is high enough gold would work as a projectile but would severely limit manufacturing capacity.
Love this idea. Might want to try adding the Replicators from Stargate into the mix. They'd even make the Borg possibly ally themselves with the Cybermen just to go against the Replicators.
A Borg can be defeated in close combat by yanking a vital cable out. Even if the Borg could potentially easily defeat the Cybermen. The Cybermen had already won hands down at demonstrating better cable management🙂
The Borg were conceived in the 80s. I thought they were a terrifying concept. Then I learned of the cybermen and was shocked to discover that the concept of "unwilling robotization" already existed decades before the Borg. Now I'm wondering, did the concept originate with the cybermen, and if not, how far back does this concept go? What work of 19th/20th century literature was the first to introduce the concept of humans being merged with technology against their will?
The idea came from Kit Pedler, a Medical Scientist and Sci-Fi author. He was interested by the advancement of prosthetic limbs and organs, and imagened what would happen if we got to a point where we could replace every part of our bodies. Would we be the same person? Would we even be human? After he was hired to write for Doctor Who, these ideas became the bases for the Cybermen.
If only we could have had some sort of simulation to see how both sides fare against one another. but least the Borg aren't killed by gold which they would have used against the Cybermen, but the Cybermen have cybernates and nanites to convert them and the Borg would do the same
The Cybermen have emotions they might deny it but they have them in revenge of the Cybermen the cyber controller in that story is very emotional as is the cyber controller in Earth shark attack of the Cybermen and silver nemesis talking about feelings because they have them
Okay... That's a bit of a letdown. I was kind of hoping for an analysis that would then go into what strengths and weaknesses they have over each other. You basically just fanboyed over both for 6 minut- Oh wait... Okay. Yeah, I probably should have realized there wouldn't be a big great analysis in a 6 minute video. That's on me.
fun fact; in at least one foreign dub; the borg and the cybermen are voiced by the same person; i forget the exact language though; think its in eastern europe; but i remember that it is a language the classic series of doctor who was never dubbed into; and the translators chose to hire the same guy who voiced the borg in that language to voice the cybermen; also the translator of the scripts for star trek: the next generation into french seems to have noticed the borg being like the cybermen as the title of the episode in which they first apeared was rendered as "Docteur Q"
Two worlds collide!
Which do YOU prefer?
@@TheObsessedWhovian95 I am a Cybermen fan. But, the Borg and the Cybermen are both great. I like Seven of Nine.
I like how in the crossover the cybermen started converting the Borg. Cybermen even scare the borg.

If they think the Cybermen are scary, wait until they come across Daleks.

The Borg Queen says it herself: I am the one who brings order to chaos

They also got over their inability to encase species with two hearts.

Yesssss. I love the Replicators so much, both versions of them

Lol. They must've seen a jayztwocents video on that
The Borg wouldn't have born if it wasn't for The Cybermen.

@@CyberController-thanks!
What's that last music called
forgot to mention cybermen say "resistance is useless" and borg say "resistance is futile".
Borg such a ripoff of cybermen

This might need a slight update since Picard Season 3.
