      Thanks Michelle! The advantage of small paintings is that your painting decisions can be quickly executed and you can learn a lot in a relatively short time.

      Thanks, Magnus. The funny thing is that I sometimes feel like I'm a beginner with a lot to learn. But maybe it's like this: when I ride my bike I'm not aware of the trouble it took to learn it. Some things become so self evident, that you forget them.

    I love all of your videos I've watched. Your very calm presentation is pleasant indeed. You asked if this video was instructive despite the increased speed, and it certainly was. The only detail I would have loved to see slowed down (or perhaps zoomed in) was the painting of the waves and how you did those. But I'll look through your other videos and may see some tips there.     It helped me to realize my need to work on the sky and the water as a "team." That way I will have the same tones of the blues and greys ready to use for a more balanced look in my work. Thank you.

    I make a lot of small panels, square, round and oval and make or try and make a 1st attempt for a larger painting so this video is perfect for me. If they are good enough they make nice cheap gifts. Thank you.

    Thanks for a very informative, concise lesson. I assume that similar results could be obtained with acrylics throughout, too. Your seacoast videos are very therapeutic for a landlocked Midwesterner.

      Thanks, Susan. Both approaches have their merits. It's easier to show in real time what really happens, but harder to demonstrate the entire process. Maybe I'll combine them more often in the future.

    I love this painting and how you demonstrate your technique. I’m more amazed you can keep cat hair out of your paintings as I can’t seem to do this and invariably I find kitty hairs in my oils. Love the cat! Oh, and the painting!

      Thanks! The fact that I don't have cat hair on my work is not really my merit. The long hair doesn't shed a lot of hair and the short hair is outside a lot.

    I love it. It´s so fun to paint miniature paintings. The smallest i have made with succes is on matchboxes. Very hard to get all the small details, but i manished. That was back in 2012. Today the smallest i have made is 10x10cm.

      @@PaintingSkies1 * It`s funny because most have said the same, but no. I just had very good eyes at the time. Now i reached the age, where i use reading glasses, when i paint very small, like 10x10cm.

    How long do you wait to varnish your paintings? And I’m not sure if you already went over this in another video, like varnishing techniques?❤

      @@solh8844I rarely use acrylics and if I do only in underpinnings for oil. I know there are varnishes for acrylics, but I don't know enough about them to give you a solid answer...
