I’m a member of the Academy Tier and Tisch is such a great teacher. You can binge-watch all day every day and still have tons of valuable lessons to go. He is interesting and kind, helpful and very knowledgeable. This is the place to get your education.
Thanks so much! Great to see you on the last livestream! Hey, if you're reading this comment folks, and you want to check it out, go here: tisch.academy
When I'm having trouble falling asleep at night I listen to one of your podcasts. You and your guests' voices eventually lull me to sleep. Bonus is you have now appeared in three of my dreams. 😂 FYI, you’ve become my own personal guru, guiding me through my "creative endeavor" journey. Thanks for all the incredibly inspiring information and please keep on being the fabulous you that you are. ❤️
That intro was amazing! New Zealand government should give you a grant for promoting the country to the world. You put a huge effort in composition and scenery. Seems like preparations takes more time than painting itself. Maybe I should pay more attention to that too? Thanks for great video.
My jaw is still hanging open as I see your amazing painting, and to think you've only gotten started! Wow Tisch! I am once again in awe! I am in the middle of a painting under a Russian artist tutelage, but as soon as I'm done, I'm coming over to your camp! Can't wait to get started with your academy!
Tisch as I call you, wow! The way you speak always gets me understanding each stage of every tutorial. You're probably the best artist in all areas I like, I teach and you do that effortlessly. I draw, and you do that with ease, the paintings I don't want to even get started with those. Keep educating us because you have all the required assets for a great artist.
Hi Andrew absolutly fantastic your last video....again ! Can't wait for the 2. part. I must give you a special compliment for your spech in the videos. It is almost a meditation for me to lissen to your explenations. Best regards out of Austria Cheers Maurice
Valuable lesson right there. Sometimes it is good to allow yourself to be led by the painting rather than forcing your will upon it. The artists struggle is real!!🎨💪 Having said that, there are plenty of times when you have to push on through with a painting because it is going through it's "ugly stage" before you get it to where you want it to be. Thanks fir sharing this Andrew, and look forward to the next installment.👍
You know it's funny because teaching (anything, not just art) is very much the same. If the lesson is just not clicking with the students or it starts to head in a different direction, you're left with two choices. Abandon the lesson plan and follow the path that has opened up or struggle on because you spent so much time planning that lesson that it's going to be delivered come hell or high water. Often the best outcome is achieved by following the direction the lesson is taking, because the audience remains engaged, rather than switching off and learning nothing. Art is the same. If I'm not liking what I'm painting, and push on regardless, I know I don't give it my best and I'm just finishing it for the sake of finishing it. The chances of ending up with something good are much reduced. Having said that though, I have several paintings that were in that situation and I ended up just slapping paint on in frustration without too much thought and they ended up being some of the best I've done. I thought I was just finishing for the sake of finishing but looking back, it was actually the painting leading me.
When you have five minutes could you explain what you mean by ‘weird’ when what I see is ‘awesome’ ? I am intrigued by what it is you see that offends you so much you have to start over when what I see is an amazing picture. Your source material is pretty damn good - the best country on the planet. Can’t wait for the next part of this. Thanks - Kate
Im glad im stlightly younger than Tisch, cuz i feel like he allows me to grow artistically, And as a person, together. Hes been an awesome online teacher! I would have never been so bold to paint the compositions im painting now. God bless Andrew!
Having to change an element in a painting is hard. If I've painted a long time on something, I pretty much feel it is where it needs to be.... But, I have done changes, and even on a painting that has sat for years, I'm thinking of putting into my digital art program to see if I need to do some changes. I think we do tend to be ok with what we design, feeling that all the effort on making the first rendering is just as it should be, not giving into the fact that we can do better, and challenge ourselves to do so. I can't wait to see how this developes!
Andrew, you never fail to give me material for my opening conversation with my students. They all love you and when I tell them you began again with a new or renewed idea for an entire landscape, it will help them have the confidence they need to change a small area of their portrait when they feel something isn’t quite right! You are amazing and generous with your knowledge and encouragement! Hugs to you and your family. Shalom, Diana
Love this!! The last painting I did, I ended up changing the entire season from autumn to spring because I just couldn't get it to work! Then it all came together
The orange shadows are so beautiful in the water in the boating video. This reminds me of what Stephen King had written about the editing process. His books were always too long to be cost effective, so he eventually switches publishers.
Merci de nous partager vos cours de haut niveau, car pour moi en tant qu'artiste je trouve que vous êtes l'un des meilleurs, que dieu vous garde et vous bénisse .
Tosh you are my greatest inspiration. Although I will never have your technical ability.I have improved so much from your tutorials. I,m in an art group of mainly older would be artists. I,m now the star pupil and am teaching them things I’ve learned from you. There faces when you get them they never thought possible is irreplaceable. And gives me a massive buzz. I actually got paid recently for a hours teaching. The most I’ve ever been hourly paid . It was to teach a friends granddaughter. She was blown away how much she learned . I’ve been booked again as a Christmas present for her.
I watched it and then asked my husband to watch it with me. He loved it and he’s not an artist. He enjoys art and is an engineer, so enjoyed the technology used.
Wow! Inspiring, I've never used professional paints and have been trying to get them for 8yrs now but never had the money, they've been on my wish list on Jacksons art supplies lol. Your videos have been my teacher for some years now, looking forward to seeing the completion of this piece.
To me you are "John Wick" of art. You are dedicated, disciplined and not to mention your great talent. I wish that one day I can afford to buy a painting signed by you ❤
This gave me a fun Idea I want to try. What if you projected a blank photoshop canvas onto a painting that needs fixing, and then live painted in PS on top of your painting? would it be clear enough to let you experiment? I'm gonna try it one of these days.
You really are a master of form and detail -- the clouds and water, in particular, are amazing. I almost wish you would ditch the photos, projections, and computers, and just paint that fabulous NZ light directly. What you'd lose in detail you'd get back in color. But I respect the fact that these technological aids are integral to your creative process.
You are so very talented💯 sir and it's take a very long time to finish your painting sir, I really love your work sir and I'm your no. 1 Filipino fan here since 2019!!!
Thank you Andrew. This is awesome. I saw how I must revisit some of my paintings and make changes to better the compositions. Great video, thank you again.
me parecio muy buena estrategia pintar con la proyeccion, veo un trabajo muy arduo y dificil, cada dia iras perfeccionando esta obra, seguro quedara magnifica
i would like to know what your table that you are using in this video is called and where can i get one? I love these videos. thank you for all you do to help.
Hi Andrew, great work as always. Can you tell me which projector you use ? I'm looking at replacing mine and like the sharp image you had on this painting. Cheers !
You make amazing painting videos! Do you shoot yourself in the studio, or with a help pf a fellow artist/videographer? I find video set up extremely distracting while working on a painting myself.
Hello Tish. Thanks For other wonderfull paint. A question: in the academy videos, i can SEE with SUBTITLES? I don't speak English and lose information. From Mexico
People who hate tracing don't know much about art history. Projectors and glass panes have been used for that for a long time. There's even furniture with glass and lights specifically built to help you trace. Most masters would make a small mockup of what they wanted to paint on a large canvas and retrace it unto the large one using whatever method they had. When learning and doing live modeling, you do that without "cheats" but when doing professional work, you'd be an idiot to avoid the best methods you can use
You, Tish, are the best promoter of your beautiful country. After "The Lord of the Rings", of course. :) big like for all your works . Including this professional quality videos on YT.
Because it wouldn’t be a textured as an oil painting. + oil paintings has more value and then of course, he enjoys painting so why not just do it again
I absolutely love your art! I am wondering.. would you ever consider adding a mermaid to you painting? It’s just so epic.. my God is a Woman.. Mother Earth. And your paintings resonate with my native beliefs. They are inspiring! Thank you for sharing your process. You are a true professional, that photoshop stuff gives me panic lol
I really like the painting before. I loved the harsh edges, it had a very dramatic and eyecatching look aswell as the textured brush strokes. Really appreciate seeing your process its very inspiring to see just how much work and preparation is done before even adding paint to a canvas. Often times I feel guilty for spending 5 or 6 days on a single painting thinking that im working too slow.
Omg!! It is fascinating to see the process of making a wonderful Masterpiece! 😍😍 I just remembered what my life coach @lisahaisha said: Everything starts within ourselves. Don't force anything; allow will to make it happen
Don’t have to kill it just save it like he tell you in other lessons. Than start over with the new one. Problem solved. Like a extra on a dvd of deleted senes, or the uncut version of a novel..:-).. usually people like those a lot including yourself clearly..:-).
i’ve never seen a rulebook for art in my life, so projecting your own image onto a canvas doesn’t need to be allowed it’s art! Plus you still gotta paint it ! Seriously come on. but I still don’t like printing. Lol

I like the way you put that. Perhaps I am a little too forceful at times! This was a good reminder for me as well.

I just bought Andrew's Signature Deluxe series paint brushes. I'm loving it and am amazed how beautifully they apply the paint.

Thanks! Is that you Sarah Churchill? I really appreciate the comment. Thanks for being part of Tisch Academy! tisch.academy
@@AndrewTischlerArt yep! I thoroughly recommend your art academy whenever I can. There's so much in it!

Love your content, your oil paintings are incredible. Do you recommend your acadamy for acrylics beginners too?
Is your palette still: Burnt Umber, Titanium White, Cadmium Yellow Deep, Adelaide Lemon, Pyrrole Red, Quinacridone Magenta, Ultramarine Blue, Pthalo Blue, Cobalt Teal and Pthalo Green?

Why not white wash over the old painting? It looked pretty thin and untextured. Is there any detriment to doing that?
Andrew. Do you still offer paper and canvas prints of your work? I know you offered them on your site a few years ago. Thanks.
Yes I do - Or I should say, I will... I'm painting up a new series that will be printed. Stay tuned!
@@AndrewTischlerArt Great news. Hopefully you'll still be offering Milford Sound again on canvas.
