Oh wow I caught an amazing moment! Skip to 3:30 and watch the elephants eyes. When the elephant is pulling the woman in by its trunk the eyes are open but as soon as the woman makes contact and hugs her she closes her eyes for the embrace! Wow. Just like a human would do. I am stunned. They are truly the most amazing kind compassionate loving creatures.

I am going to this place to volunteer in February. I researched and it led me to her. I have not been on vacation in over 25 plus years so this had to be special. This will be a spiritual journey for me,. This will be my first time to touch an elephant. I normally do rescue work in my spare time but I am closing this chapter in my life and beginning a new one. My journey at the elephant park will be the beginning of a new chapter in my life.
How did you go about being able to do this? I would LOVE to volunteer with either elephants or monkeys, but have no idea how to even start the process.

ENP is amazing and beautiful paradise! I had the opportunity to volunteer there this year for 6 weeks. It was for me to plan a year advance making a huge check list to do this international trip from USA to Thailand. There are over 5000 animals at ENP besides elephants, dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, pigs, chickens, ducks, and many more. Being around this lady and her elephants in Thailand was the highlight of my holiday in Chang Mai.
You can see the love in Lek’s eyes when she’s with these majestic animals, and not just the elephants, she cares for them all, thank the Lord for you Lek. I pray that God blesses you and all those who cannot help themselves.
This woman may not be a Harvard graduate, but she gives more to this world than most of them do with nothing but love and self sacrifice serving others. It's what we were all made for and yet very few actually do. May God bless them all. How anyone could hurt one of these beauties is beyond me.

@@Onigirli My dear...thanks for your kindness but it's impossible to not think about it as I see it every day of my life and hear about all the time in this society. I wish I could block it out, but then I'd never feel the need to help everyone that needs it. I love animals with a passion and make about 30 meals a day for ones I know and especially the 8 feral cats in my yard I've fed twice a day, every day for three years now and so much more.
I simply believe that to make this a better world, it has to start .....with me.......even if I'm alone, it has to be me trying to help those in need. We humans are flawed in so many always but some are just hero's in life standing in the path of suffering, willing to take a stance like this beautiful woman. I'm certain your one of those people yourself.

Some of the most touching imagery I believe I have ever seen. When the elephant draws Lek in toward him, it is the only way he can embrace her. If I were wealthy, instead of a lot of expensive handbags, I would donate a large amount to help Lek’s work, and organization(s). I would like to donate something. I’m going to do some research.I want the money to actually get where it is supposed to go.

Hardly anything makes me happier than witnessing this; I often find myself crying tears of deep joy and gratitude, feeling the profound love and trust among these beings. Lek is one of a kind, I wish I could meet her and give her a 'human hug', though I know it couldn't compare to elephant hugs. If I EVER have any money I would be thrilled to contribute millions to this awesome Park, thank you all from the bottom of my heart. The whole world is a better place because of you!!

People like that are amazing. LEK sings lullabies to the elephants and you can tell right away if an animal is well loved and respected. Thank God for the caretakers that have that unconditional love and compassion to make these magnificent animals feel wanted and loved.

Wow this is fantastic... Elephants are smart, loving and working. Offering them a better life on their own terms and enjoying free days is fantastic to see mothers and their babies naturally living together. It's a fantastic experience to watch elephant mothers look after their babies while they can search, socialize and play.
