That silver sword pricing is crazy! Here in England I got 3 in a pot more mature than the one you showed for only £25 😮 loved the vid! Your tours are the best.
Omg I’ve been so into Hoyas lately and omg😍 my newest cuttings i bought this weekend was a mermaid tail (that’s the name they gave me when I bought it 😅) but yes thank you for sharing your plant journey 🪴🤍
I’m so freaking jealous of the plant shops in CA 😭 it gets rough out here in the Midwest sometimes. Their prices seem very fair, not one of those places that severely overcharges for “status” plants even if they’re not uncommon and easy to propagate 🙄
hey hey! great video, but let me clarify something! some trees in the ficus family produce figs, but those trees are ficus rubber trees which are not edible figs i believe
Hi Erika, I’m going to LA this weekend (from Brooklyn NYC) and I was hoping you could recommend the best affordable plant markets I could check out!? We have a lot of cool mom and pop style budget plant shops throughout the city and I’m excited to see how LA compares to my beloved NYC! Lol
I love I. LA and the flower marker in LA has so many plant stands. Green Thumb nurseries and Armsteong nurseries are great. There are so many to see in LA but these are good to start.
You haaave to go to Mickeys! Really good prices on common plants & cool rare plants at the back of the green house! La cienega nursery is close to mickeys so I recommend going to that one too, they have uncommonish plants sometimes. The flower market is also p good, there’s a lot of common plants for cheap. Sometimes there are more uncommon ones too. Agreed green thumb & Armstrong’s are good. I can recommend you more but they’re kind of spaced out idk how long you’ll be here lol but lmk for more options. also I’ll link tours of mickeys, la cienega, & the flower market so you can see if u like the vibes lol
Thank you sooo much! I can’t wait to visit some of these places! LA doesn’t have winter like we do in NYC so I know the plants and prices are gonna be awesome! Love your plant tour/shopping videos!
I have to remember this place!! I'm needing to just like, escape from San Diego, for a few hours maybe. Cabin fever lol. Garden shopping in OC I think...
I'm pretty sure you might have already covered this but do you have any tips for getting that brown chocolate cake looking stuff they pack orchids in at the store off the roots? I bought a bunch of cymbidium babies on sale and they're super healthy and have tons of roots but that stuff is ON THERE! I picked some of it off but the roots are surrounding it and there's a big massive chunk in the middle of all of their roots that I just can't get out without damaging the roots and it's got that dank mildewy smell so I gotta get it out of there somehow, should I just risk damaging the roots to get it out?
I don’t have any experience with cymbidiums so I’m not sure if I would start chopping all that brown stuff out or leave it. Soaking it in water for a while then picking at it with tweezers really helps. But if you do more research into that orchid & see that their roots are supposed to be really sensitive maybe just try as best as you can without being super thorough to save the roots
Many thanks for this nursery tour! So many beautiful plants and most of.the prices were very good. Loved all the Hoyas and that Lemon Lime Maranta was so stunningly beautiful! Fun video! 👌🪴🥰
I would have so gotten that lemon lime maranta!! So so beautiful! Thanks for taking us along with you 😊☀️

I recently bought a philodendron silver sword for $12.99 in a Home Depot in Newport (Cali) just a PSA! :) 😍😍❤️
I love Philodendron Hastatum, they are super easy to grow :)
Hoping to find one toooooo. I’ll keep my eyes peeled
You had a LOT of restraint in not picking up some of those beauties Erika! Really enjoyed your visit...
Usually it’s not too hard to leave a plant behind… but my god this time was a STRUGGLE
I’m so envious, what plants that we do have locally start at $20 for a 4” pot and up from there. Those plants were gorgeous! 🪴 💚
hey hey! great video, but let me clarify something! some trees in the ficus family produce figs, but those trees are ficus rubber trees which are not edible figs i believe

@@ErikaLodes haha. Oh for sure. I’ll check it out in a week or two. Not far away.
Since you were in Lake Forest, did you check out Roger’s Garden?
thanks 👌👌
Your comments when you’re talking about the black velvets 😂
Lol watching over the footage I could not just let it go
Please don’t skip over our fern friends💓🌞
If there are pretty ones I will film them 🥺

9:07 You should have made space for it. If I wasnt moving soon I'd go buy it lmao
I cant bring myself to do it, I know it’ll get crispy in my care 😭 it really was the most beautiful lemon lime I’ve ever seen tho
I really enjoy plant tours🥰. I see they have different locations, is the one in Canoga park as plentiful?
Ya! Maybe not AS much variety but I go to that one a lot more than this one. I’ll link you a tour so you can see it

Thank you for the tip on the dragon tail plant! Mine is growing quickly. Moss pole to the rescue. That Zanadu is lovely. 🪴
Yaya get that baby staked up
Erika: Appreciate the feedback. Hardly a day goes by without having to give special attention to a least one of my plants. Always enjoy your videos! 🪴
🌿💚
😻🫶🏼
All those hoyas were fabulous! Enjoyed your tour and trying to learn more about orchids from other videos you've done.
Agreed, I wish all plant shops had such a big Hoya selection 😍 yes orchids are the best!!
I was a little disappointed you skipped over the ferns and sansaverias. Guess you must not be a fan
Not a fan 😭
I went to green thumb in Santa Clarita yesterday and it was closed 😭 I was so disappointed lol but your video made me feel better ❤️🩹
The one day they were closed nooo 😩
