As you look at the box, the left module is the actual ECM (or ECU) while the right one near the engine is the TCM (Transmission control module) that appears to work for both manual and automatic transmissions. Here's a video showing a problem with the connectors for these modules ua-cam.com/video/KjxjhcZxuDs/v-deo.html
I’m having an issue with my ecu I sent my ecu to be repaired and the car ran great for 400 mile then it went back to doing the same thing as before .. do you know wher I can purchase a used ecu for a 2001 Volvo v70 t5
I tried reflashing my ECU today, on a 2001 v70 t5 , but now it just cranks and cranks and cranks. I reflashed with same file again, same thing, so I tried reconnecting dice and maybe doing it again, but now dice will not connect to car at all. STC Service required is on message board, and the gear will say P when key is in then change to a horizontal dash after a few seconds. Any tips?
Have you tried the forums ? Matthews and the Uk one. May also try contacting this company, it's a person that can connect and reprogram remotely www.datatransferring.com/contact
@@TheDefault960 Then it's a bit difficult. Perhaps the easiest is the VVT solenoids, or worse, the VVT hubs may be out of adjustment, perhaps after having been removed, which is very difficult to set back correctly. Try also asking on forums like www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=9
I think the problem is the vvt pulley, because this Saturday I went to change my timing belt, but I saw that the vvt pulley is not aligned with the timing marks. How can I adjust the vvt pulley? Thank you
Hi good day . I am a follower of your channel and I would like you to help me or make a video where you will explain what problem my 2003 Volvo S60 has. on the screen it tells me that it needs a transmission service if you could help me I would appreciate it. greetings from new haven ct
Try first replacing half the fluid using the correct type 3309 - the best out there is the Toyota Type IV (they use the same transmission), the Mobil ATF 3309 (not the same as Mobil 1 ATF), and Idemitsu from Fcpeuro if you are in the USA. You can either drain it once at the bottom bolt, then refill with same amount (around 3.5 liters) by the dipstick hole ONLY, or use the "Gibbons' method at the transmission return cooling line. I suggest you only replace around 3.5 Liters, not complete (it's about 7 liters). And very important, refill only through the dipstick hole, never remove any other transmission bolt, those are for the internal gears. Then try driving inside the city, not open roads, so the transmission can shift gears and adapt to the fresh fluid. www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo-transmission-service-kit-idemitsu-1161540kt
@@Peppermint1 how about good day if you remember the problem with my 2003 Volvo S60. I made the oil change to the transmission as you explained it to me in your comment and still continues to have a little knock when putting in reverse. What other option do you have to solve that problem. Thank you very much for your attention and I await a response soon
@@ariespantle1805 Hi, from the transmission perspective, I am not aware of a fix for this. Still worth perhaps looking at the upper and lower engine torque mounts, and perhaps inspect the axles for play. About the only thing we can do with these transmissions beside new fluid, is to replace either the 3 main solenoids, or the entire valve body assembly and perform a adaptation relearn. But if the transmission is working fine other than that reverse knock, I would leave it as is. Mine has such harsh reverse engagement (it lost the adaptations), I don,t feel it's going to cause any damage in the short term

First you need to use correct scanner for Volvo - Vida Dice
