Mya Hitt Jimmy Fallon. Actually saw him talking about his friend Pete Davidson and he was his usual hysterical storyteller. It’s cool to watch him walk across those large stages. Can just tell he’s practiced that a lot and often.

These two have that kind of friendship that exists in movies where a younger person who's an old soul makes friends with an older person and they have deep soul searching conversations together.
Damn, after hearing about Stephen’s dream I feel really bad for him. I know this probably sounds weird but I just really want to give the guy a hug. He must feel tremendous pressure about having to continue his show and having to make sure he’s alright, his family is alright, and his friends are alright. Stephen, I know you probably don’t read these comments but I just wanted to let you know that I and many others really appreciate you continuing to do this. Hang in there

Here I present to you, two men who we are used to seeing in suits, not wearing suits... these truly are unprecedented times.
Tre' Runyon nah, John is usually in a suit when he performs comedy and Stephen is too but.. oh shit where was I going with this? Oh right! no it’s not bad that John without a suit freaks you out more.

Stephens "cant find me while i broadcast" dream is: Mild Guilt. perhaps he feels a little guilty that he gets to keep doing his show while so many other people are jobless?
Mulaneys dream seems to be curiosity/mild fomo. He feels he doesnt really know how Rob felt about it, now he really wants to know how Rob really felt, and not knowing is causing mild anxiety (fomo). Feels like he is missing knowing the answer.
lol these two dream types are the most common ones. Mild Guilt (the kind that you question if it matters) and anxiety of missing information are two primary functions of the base subconscious. both are important to keep you progressing in life. (the former: spiritual, the latter: intellectual.)
Mulaneys dream also suggests a desire to please Rob specifically, perhaps he wants to be closer friends, or feels he is lacking social compensation for something Rob did for him?
while Stephens is more of a universal/generic/society level concern. He wants to do right by everybody (both for bringing them entertainment, and not taking advantage of his fortunate position.)
He's also clearly in therapy because the second half of this interview is about he's in therapy :D

My two biggest take aways after watching this.
1. John Mulaney is the only person whose dreams I'm genuinely interested in hearing about.
2. John Mulaney's dreams are more entertaining than 90% of the stuff on network TV.

I had a dream last night that my brother (who I love dearly) got mauled by a tiger, but in a cute way, it was pretty awesome. And no I haven't or will ever watch tiger king. But I have been reading about it. That is all =)
I had the craziest dream last night. Me and my sister were just standing and my dad just told us that we had COVID 19. That was weird because me and my sister hadn’t even got tested for it. I wasn’t even worried about me I was worried about my grandma who’s house I had been to recently. Then I woke up.

It’s amazing how Stephen doesn’t need to be incredibly funny or a good interviewer to be a talk show host. He just has a sense of comfort to him and you can see John is comfortable around him.

John, his comedy notwithstanding, has an unbelievably tremendous intellect!
In his dream Mulaney was driving in the "passenger side" of the car not because he was showing Rob Reiner the cherry blossoms in the U.S. but Japan where the steering wheel is on the right side and seeing the cherry blossoms is also a very big deal.

Uncertain stress is the most debilitating kind because you don't know exactly what you are dealing with and cannot, therefore, formulate a plan of action to address the stress. The inability to visualize a future results in forms of depression. Finding peace with the fear of the unknown and trusting your ability to respond once those stressors are properly identified can be a path to peace.
We'll get through this.

@Michael Welles I recently found a way to deal with the night terrors and daytime panic attacks I was having -- I'd just ended an 11-year relationship with an abusive man and two months later we're dealing with a pandemic, my poor psyche just didn't have the stamina to cope -- and I am sheltering alone (day 40 today) -- I recognized that the lack of structure in my day (I cannot work because health issues and my age put me at high risk) and the constant barrage of often conflicting "facts" were making me literally lose my mind... Then, one morning, I found myself saying to myself -- "I am still me. My friend Mary is still Mary. My friend Linda is still Linda. My brother Eric is still Eric..." and so on. And I suddenly felt grounded. This wasn't some feel-good mantra, it is a statement of fact. All the people I love and who love me are still who they are -- it's just our outer world that has been turned upside down. I also remind myself that many of those cars I see from my window are people going to work and keeping the world running. If something happens to the power grid, well, I'll probably freak out again for a while, especially if it means no computer, no phone. But it will still be true that I am still me, my friends are still my friends and my family is still my family. And that really does help me remember what's most important.

The best thing has been watching Stephen get his groove back. It was reminding me of that first “Colbert Report,” when he seemed so anxious and worried that no one would get it. So glad to see him being himself again, though I loved those shows when quarantine started. It was so sweet, his lack of confidence, and watching him grow back into the confident host of the show.💖
I’ve had weird quarantine dreams, including twice now about my deceased father, dreaming about him for the first time in well over a decade. And also twice dreaming of an ex from over 2 decades ago. 😷 One with my father had him moving with a crowd of people, & me trying & failing to engage him. At one point I see John McCain, & say to my father, oh look there’s McCain, you like him. I then realize everyone shuffling off in one direction are all dead, & I turn & go against the crowd back to the living.

They mentioned Tony Curtis's hair and I just spent the last hour looking at photos of Tony Curtis and then reading about his life and then watching an interview with his 6th wife after he passed -- I'm 65, so Tony Curtis is part of my growing up years. Isn't it crazy how easy it is to go down the UA-cam rabbit hole? As for Stephen Colbert, I cannot tell you how happy I am that he's still doing a show from home. I don't know that many of us could deal with not seeing some of our favorite people, people who make us laugh especially, during such an anxiety filled time.
Congratulations to John on just finishing 60 days. You've got this.
Mulaneys Dream Analysis:
He has a need for approval, a fear of conflict and 66% confidence in himself.
He is put into a situation where he has to react on the fly (interview about Reiner) he says 3 things. 2 he knocks out of the park NBD and the 3 he is unsure of. Then he sees Reiner who doesnt mention how he feels about the 3rd thing mulaney said. This causes mulaney anxiety. Then they are driving around to look at the blossoms. Mulaney keeps pointing out the blossoms but Reiner isnt paying attention to him. Mulaney is controlling the car from the passenger seat which is the "wrong way" to do that. But hes is also controlling the conversation, but in the "wrong way". He is distracting Reiner instead of confronting the situation, afraid of the conflict. He spends time distracting, so much time that he arrives at a driveway reminiscent of where he grew up. All that time spent distracting but it still didnt work. So the next thing that happens is that he falls asleep which is just avoiding the issue. When he awakes he is offered a pill and told to wake up.
Basically his subconscious knows that he cant get what he needs by distracting, avoiding, and that there is no easy out or magic pill to fix it.
Reiner is someone he doesnt know and has never met. He is a stranger to him. And that is where his need for approval lies, Where his fear of conflict lies, and where his 66% confidence level lies, with strangers.
But the real reason he had this dream isnt because there is a specific issue he needs to confront. It's because he is self isolating. A typical day before he would come into contact with many strangers. And on some small level he would feel these things. It becomes a pattern for him and what he is use to. However now, being isolated, he is not having these interactions and his patterns and anxieties are manifesting and being expressed through his dreams. There is no real answer or takeaway for him from this dream other than to recognize that these patterns exist in his life and then being mindful to change them.
That's my take away anyhow :)
