I got it's little brother the MK2 a month ago, and I really enjoy it. Most of the things I will make or engrave my MK2 will be plenty big. But.... it's awesome to see a new laser from Roly! Get out and burn 🔥! Greg
One downside, kind of, 13500mm/min max scanning speed in Y-Axis (due to increased mass of gantry). Might not be a problem if you only fast engrave with X-Axis, if you try to fast engrave by scanning in Y-Axis, or at an angle other than the X-Axis, you will have an increased time to get the job done. You'll only get the full 24" of X travel if you have zero over-scan, I think, but not sure about that.
Yeah I had asked the question yesterday about upgrading. And I really like the looks of this machine. It’s all inclusiveness and having a wider workspace. As I asked yesterday I want to consistently cut at least 1/4 wood and below with one pass. With other choices being 40w and more would this machine be worth the investment to handle what I want it to do.
I would say YES to this one. I think you will be amazed at how much better it is than what you have. Of course you would want the 30/10w model for 1/4". As you can see by my past videos, I have made tens of thousands of dollars worth of 1/4" products on this laser. Roly just makes a great product. I have no issue recommending it if you have the cash. Use my link of course :)
Hi, I do have a question. Other machines you can do repeatable engravings by simply pressing a button after swapping out a piece. Can you do the same with this?
After watching all your Roly videos I just pulled the trigger and purchased the Roly LaserMATIC MK2 XW 30W. I plan on using it with my leather making. It was a little more than I wanted to spend since I just purchased the xTool F1 Ultra a month ago. I have a couple years till retirement and would like to have a business going by then to earn extra income. Thanks for all your videos, Keep them coming!
@@ValleyForged I wasn't sure if I ended up using you link or not so I emailed Roly and told them your videos convinced me to purchase the LaserMATIC MK2 XW 30W. Here is what they sent back. Hi William, Thanks for choosing the LaserMATIC Mk2 XW :). I've added order #4831 to our affiliate conversion spreadsheet under Eric/Valley Forged. Cheers, Leo
@@WilliamMeade-y8v That is super nice of you! I just want Leo to know I appreciate his lasers, so this is why I really care. You went far beyond what was necessary. Thanks again, and keep us posted on your progress.

Really should've waited..... got my MK2 last week.
Mine is on the way! _Quick tip, turn the project at a 45° angle to cut larger._

I'd love to have the largbed, but I don't have the space. I'm really happy with my regular sized Roly mk2.

Not on the machine, but you can just change the wood and hit start again in lightburn, so yes, but no.
@@ValleyForged Oh ok... that's better than resetting the camera every time.. thanks for the response..
