    Once again your teachings are so easy to follow. Just got my Lasermatic 30w with rotary set up. Have enjoyed playing with it the last few days running power test, but now it is time to do some real work. Will be trying my first tumblers for Father’s Day. If I follow you instructions it should work out without any trouble. Thanks again. Will post my results on the forum.

    I originally thought about getting the WeCreat laser, because of a couple of features I liked. BUT!!! After watching the videos on the lasermatic MK2 no with a 30w laser it has become a no-brainer.
    Another thing that is a big deal is support. There are so many resources to draw from.
    Now all I have to do is come up with the $. The amazing thing is that all this quality doesn’t require a wheelbarrow of money.
    Thanks for all your input,

    Rich thanks for the video they are always great. I purchased this chuck rotary for the original Lasermatic 10 and the setup is different for that machine. Also the cables between the roller and chuck rotarys are different for some reason. The manual for the chuck rotary stipulates that "Either objects diameter or circumference needs to be set by the user." Also "MM per rotation" needs to be set if you were using the roller rotary as you don't input machine definitions for the Lasermatic Mk2 when using it with the Lasermatic 10. One last issue I have with chuck rotarys is that if you are using chuck jaws that fit internal to the object there is no good way to get easy repeatable placement. Just my observations.

    Great video Rich. Can I ask, why is it okay to turn the rotary by hand?

  • @stevespringer8385
    @stevespringer8385 7 місяців тому +1

    Hi Rich. Can the rotary be used without rotation? I have square, tapered cups to engrave and I'm thinking that putting them in the rotary and leveling, this would provide me with an accurate 'jig' to repeatedly orient each cup each time. thanks

    • @TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
      @TheLouisianaHobbyGuy  7 місяців тому

      Sure Steve. The LaserMATIC uses the Z axis for the rotary, so if you don't plug it in and enable the rotary, the laser will work normally and you can use it as a jig.

    What made you say it’s “running a little too hot”? I’m testing MK2 30/10w and getting black laser marks but they don’t rub off with water or isopropyl alcohol when I’m done (im getting a burnt dull look instead of the shine no matter how much a clean it after)

    That chuck rotary looks sweet. I used the regular roller a few times now and it works great but this looks nicer because it grabs the piece to turn it. That 30w was flying pretty good too! I see that chuck rotary will work with my original 10W too, SWEET!

    Question I have been having issues with my rotary tool, I contacted Roly they said what I found was correct but I'm really confused because when you use it you don't have the same issues? When I leave lightburn set to 96 mm per rotation the Z is way off a 2mm letter gets wrapped around the glass I have been testing on. I entered the correct measurement into the rotary settings. I'm worried that something could be wrong with the MK2 I just got. I had to change the 96 mm to 10 mm to get the rotary to stop spinning completely around stretching the image. Just to elaborate I followed your instructions to the T but getting bizarre results

    I own the original 10-watt unit. The alignment for the honeycomb grid and the roller is tied to the exact position of the bottom. From eMail w Leo it is my understanding that if removed there is no index / key to guarantee that the bottom will go back in the exact position it used to be in. Is this true? If so, how can I get that exact alignment back so the roller, rotary, and honeycomb grid will be in the correct position?

    • @TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
      @TheLouisianaHobbyGuy  7 місяців тому

      The bottom is indexed on a 10mm lip and drops back into this shelf perfectly. The 6 screws holding the bottom into the shelf index perfectly.

    Rich, great video! I got the rotary going thanks to you, but I have lines in my graphics. Like not all the paint is removed. In other words, the graphics have lines of paint that did not get burned. What am I doing wrong. Something to do with dpi or overscan?

      Overscanning should be 3-5%. DPI should be 318. You can also raise the focus a mm or 2.
