Once again your teachings are so easy to follow. Just got my Lasermatic 30w with rotary set up. Have enjoyed playing with it the last few days running power test, but now it is time to do some real work. Will be trying my first tumblers for Father’s Day. If I follow you instructions it should work out without any trouble. Thanks again. Will post my results on the forum.
Great to hear Joe!
When I saw this dude lookin like the guy in every science fiction movie who's in charge of inventing every latest and greatest device.. I knew I found the right guy..
🤪 Thanks for watching!
Your teaching style and demeanor set the standard. Would love to have a Lasermatic, and any of your teaching is the best.
Wow, thank you Charles!
Ordered the 30w package on Friday. Can't wait. Good video Rich thanks
Hope you enjoy it Randy!
Just got my rotary and switched out the module to the 10/20 watt. This video was so helpful !
Great to hear it!
Just got the 30 watt MK2 your videos are so helpful especially this one since it’s the first time I’m using the chuck rotary.
Glad I could help Sergio!
I originally thought about getting the WeCreat laser, because of a couple of features I liked. BUT!!! After watching the videos on the lasermatic MK2 no with a 30w laser it has become a no-brainer.
Another thing that is a big deal is support. There are so many resources to draw from.
Now all I have to do is come up with the $. The amazing thing is that all this quality doesn’t require a wheelbarrow of money.
Thanks for all your input,
Another convert
Yeah, the LaserMATIC is head and shoulders above any diode on the market.
thanks rich for this informative video
Thanks so much!
Dang, I recall learning from you with the otur rotary. What a difference. Amazing how far things have come in such a short time.
Yes it is!!
Thank you so much!
My pleasure!
good and informative, thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
great video!🎉
Glad you liked it!!
Thanks!
You bet! Thanks so much for the support!
Greg video, you answered the question I was going to ask about taller jobs. My 30 watt Roly is supposed to be here Tuesday. I too have a set of the fancy risers like you, mine are scrap oak pallet wood, can’t beat free.
Awesome Jeff! I actually have 3D printed legs now.
Great video, not Greg. Lol
Ordered my rotary for my original Lasermatic last night.
Awesome Carl!
love your videos
you need to make a video on how to use the pass though on the lasermatic
I am... it's pretty simple. Just remove the passthrough covers.
Rich thanks for the video they are always great. I purchased this chuck rotary for the original Lasermatic 10 and the setup is different for that machine. Also the cables between the roller and chuck rotarys are different for some reason. The manual for the chuck rotary stipulates that "Either objects diameter or circumference needs to be set by the user." Also "MM per rotation" needs to be set if you were using the roller rotary as you don't input machine definitions for the Lasermatic Mk2 when using it with the Lasermatic 10. One last issue I have with chuck rotarys is that if you are using chuck jaws that fit internal to the object there is no good way to get easy repeatable placement. Just my observations.
This video was on the Mark 2 Terry. Yes, basic settings need to be set on the 1st edition.
Hi Steve, tomorrow will be my first time.
Waiting for delivery😊 Thank You!
The name's Rich 🤪
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy Sorry Rich, have to play the I'm getting old card!
So I didn't see you compensate for the curve of the cup to the image or is the roly doing the work for us. I have mk 10 and have even opened the rotary tool. I've been to busy with wood projects. But 30wt xy is come soon and would like to use the Chuck in some stanley cups.
This file didn't need any compensation Frank. The 30W XW will be here next week, so stay tuned!
Hi Rich great video. I am just waiting for the postman to deliver mine today. Will I need to alter any settings as I have the Lasermatic 10.
The roller should come with a USB to install the chuck settings. If not, you can ask for them in the FB group Nick.
Thanks Rich, great job as always. Did you have it set to 10w or 20 w, sorry if I missed that. Thanks,Mike
The switch was already in the 20W position Mike.
Can you do a video showing how to do the really large tumblers or even jugs (like a 64oz beer growler if thats even possible)?
Eventually...
In section 16:10 you mention doing this cup engraving on another laser didn’t do a good job, which laser was it? thank you
I don't remember Lou, it was 6 months ago.
Great video Rich. Can I ask, why is it okay to turn the rotary by hand?
It doesn't move far enough to send a charge back Andy.
Hi Rich. Can the rotary be used without rotation? I have square, tapered cups to engrave and I'm thinking that putting them in the rotary and leveling, this would provide me with an accurate 'jig' to repeatedly orient each cup each time. thanks
Sure Steve. The LaserMATIC uses the Z axis for the rotary, so if you don't plug it in and enable the rotary, the laser will work normally and you can use it as a jig.
Hey LHG, do you know if this can do 40oz stanley tumblers?
It can Phil, after removing the baseplate and flipping over the rotary.
What made you say it’s “running a little too hot”? I’m testing MK2 30/10w and getting black laser marks but they don’t rub off with water or isopropyl alcohol when I’m done (im getting a burnt dull look instead of the shine no matter how much a clean it after)
I had the power set too high. Sounds like you do too.
This really is a great laser with great functions and accessories.
Unfortunately, it can only be ordered from the USA.
I would like to have such a device but I live in Germany ;-)
Nevertheless, I enjoy watching your videos, I've already learned a lot from them and I'm still learning. Many thanks for that
Greetings Robert
You can order it in Germany Robert. It just costs a bit more for the tariffs and import fees. Contact leo@rolyautomation.com and tell him I sent you.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy Thanks for the information, I have just written to Leo. (hope it is not too heavy with the fees ;-) )
It's not the shipping fees, it's the tariffs and import fees charged by your country.
Yes, that is what I mean
Just ordered my new mk2 with the 30w module. Is your file for the machine settings the file that comes with the unit? Is that for 10w or 30w? Every time I want to try something with my lasers, your channel is the first place I go to look to see how you already did it! Thank You!
The file I made was for the 10W. You can get the 20W in their Facebook group.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy Is there a 30w available?
Soon...
I'm trying to decide if I will keep the first one, the MK1; or upgrade to the MK2 (selling the MK1) ... also, Rich is the thumb drive that was sent for the MK1 still of any use for the MK2? TIA!
No, the MK2 comes with its own USB drive and different settings.
That chuck rotary looks sweet. I used the regular roller a few times now and it works great but this looks nicer because it grabs the piece to turn it. That 30w was flying pretty good too! I see that chuck rotary will work with my original 10W too, SWEET!
Yes it will Mike!
Question I have been having issues with my rotary tool, I contacted Roly they said what I found was correct but I'm really confused because when you use it you don't have the same issues? When I leave lightburn set to 96 mm per rotation the Z is way off a 2mm letter gets wrapped around the glass I have been testing on. I entered the correct measurement into the rotary settings. I'm worried that something could be wrong with the MK2 I just got. I had to change the 96 mm to 10 mm to get the rotary to stop spinning completely around stretching the image. Just to elaborate I followed your instructions to the T but getting bizarre results
There is an employee technician on staff in the Facebook group: facebook.com/groups/rolyofficial
No, I don't have that problem.
I own the original 10-watt unit. The alignment for the honeycomb grid and the roller is tied to the exact position of the bottom. From eMail w Leo it is my understanding that if removed there is no index / key to guarantee that the bottom will go back in the exact position it used to be in. Is this true? If so, how can I get that exact alignment back so the roller, rotary, and honeycomb grid will be in the correct position?
The bottom is indexed on a 10mm lip and drops back into this shelf perfectly. The 6 screws holding the bottom into the shelf index perfectly.
Is there an extension cord for the rotary
No that I know of, but Patrick at Lightsource Engraving makes them. sales@lightsource.pro
Will this work with the falcon 2 22w
It's made for the LaserMATIC Bob. I don't remember the wiring on the Creality.
Love to know if the jaws can be reversed so as to hold the cup on the inside?
Yes, sir, they do hold items from the outside
Yes, and it comes with 2 different sizes.
Would this be able to do the 40oz stanley style tumblers?
Yes, but you would need to raise the laser and remove the bottom plate.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy thank you
What's the biggest tumbler you can engrave on the chuck roller?
The jaws can open to a max of 4 1/2". My partner Patrick did a 40oz mug style on his. You would have to remove the floor of the machine to do one that big, which is what it's designed to do.
thank you
ill give it a try.@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
Rich, great video! I got the rotary going thanks to you, but I have lines in my graphics. Like not all the paint is removed. In other words, the graphics have lines of paint that did not get burned. What am I doing wrong. Something to do with dpi or overscan?
Overscanning should be 3-5%. DPI should be 318. You can also raise the focus a mm or 2.
