A masterclass to Wall Plants (in PVZ2)

- Wall plants may be the weakest plants in PVZ2, so I figured I'd give a relatively (wall plants are super complicated) short guide on how to make the most out of them. It should probably be fine enough.

While Endurian isn’t too useful overall, it’s hella fun when you pair it with bonk choy, spike rock, celery stalker and sap fling. Getting them to work can be hard but it’s so satisfying
Tip: Add pumpkin to that list.
@@MrLozone999 And snow pea to add the slowness :troll:
Kid named flying zombies:
man's speaking my language!
Thank you Jotaroblox
My personal favorite with wall plants is actually olive pit, it's ability to slurp up 3 zombies makes walls last longer and slow down the horde further due to it's sap.
Bro am I dumb or is this sarcasm, cuz olive pit isn't a wall plant lol. How can there be a wall plant that can't be eaten
@@guacodile2528 he means that olive pit synergizes well with walls, not that it is a wall.
@@mr.meatman7978 oooooooooooh I'm dumb
Interesting. My pick is Primal Wall-Nut. It can bear three haymakers from Gargantuars. Plus, their cooldown time and cost are beautiful.
I wish there was a reason to use walls more often in vanilla, but problem is there's just too many instant-kill/nullifying-effect zombies with little counters. E.g pvz 1, you had spikeweed to counter Zombonis and Catapults, or magnet shroom for jack-in-the-boxes and ladder zombies. Pvz 2 has stuff like football mechs, wizards, explorers, e.t.c all of which are spammed in such high frequency that their counters can't recharge in time, discouraging walls and encouraging hyper-aggro strategies to kill them as fast as possible.
I almost always like to bring a wall plant in my decks. A strong attacking force means the zombies may never actually get that far down, but it's better to be safe than sorry.
Screw the basic wall plants, all the true homies put Pumpkin inside of a Spikerock.
Mom: We have Endurian at home
Endurian at home:
@@OhCrapI_He it's not even close since the zombies only can get hurt after eating the pumpkin
Walnut: weak for hordes but very cost efficient
Infi-nut: plant food ability tanks the most threats
Chard Guard: endures threats 3 times / Blover synergy
Primal Walnut: can endure some threat / fastest recharge
Tallnut: blocks flying zombies / highest health
Endurian: weak for hordes / short-ranged Pea-nut
Pea-nut: Long-ranged Endurian (slightly higher health and damage negated by slightly higher cost & Jester weakness)
Sweet Potato: basic health / crowd control
Hot Date: offense version of Sweet Potato / warms plants
Explode-o-nut: more of an Insta-kill than a wall
Pumpkin: space efficient
Kiwibeast: beefier Chard Guard (weak Wall with strong melee)
Blockoli: beefier Chard Guard (higher health with recharging stun)
Holly Barrier: Endurian with knockback of Chard Guard
Murkadamia Nut: Endurian x Infi-nut with lamer plant food ability
I've been playing pvz for 11 years but I still feel like learnt something
Walnut is great because they are tasty
This is very true
Yummy wall
Yummy nuts

Is he gay r just exotic? I just can’t crack the NUT
Infi-nut is my favorite wall plant, Primal Sunflower is my favorite sun producer.
Same
Kinda ironic
@@LeeGMa the wall is the future but the sun is the past
i much prefer sunshroom and i don't really like walls
i used to use twin sunflower and infininut but now i use primal sunflower and either primal wallnut or torchwood depending on if i’m using any freeze.
A master class to lobbing plants or melee plants would be cool.
We STAN Chard Guard in this house

Pumpkin + Electric Currant is kinda broken aswell since the effects of the currant still works (it will change their directions and does damage)
its one of my fav combos and its just satisfying
I like using electric currant with power vine since it’s give the electric currant another way to damage zombies that are on its lane instead of having to rely on zombies eating electric currant to damage them
Something very important is since wall plants are for stalling Cold Snapdragon is the best plant to pair with any Wall. This magnifies everything especially Spikeweed. This results a in Pumpkin and Infininut being the two best walls in my opinion.
Iceweed: *maniacal laughter* you fool
Hm, isn't cold snapdragon just a short-ranged version of the winter melon which has been around since the original game and is likely more balanced as a result?
hey, this is overall a great video, however i do have a major problem in how you compare walls to stalls, as i believe that really misrepresents how walls work
stalls are meant to reduce zombie progress, such as a sap fling slowing down their progress, a stunion preventing progress for a short while, and even primal pea reverting zombie movement
walls replace the progress zombies make via movement with their hp, something you have a lot more direct control over
(if you noticed, stalls will actually reduce progress in both aspects)
making use of both field range (when zombies haven't reached your walls yet, and are still moving towards them) and defensive range (when zombies are currently at your walls, a naturally stronger range at the cost of needing to maintain a resource (your wall's hp) to continuously make use of) can be incredibly important to the success of a strong defense
i hope i explained this well cause articulation isn't exactly a strong suit of mine, but i knew this 100% needed some sort of explanation
Wall plants are really underrated
Not quite. Just, wall plants aren't accustomed to the atrocious environment of Plants vs Zombies 2.
Wall-nuts are the best walls, mainly because they are the only wall-type plant that can kill zombies in pvz1. But yeah, I'm glad that you're continuing this series
Edit: Fixed the minor stroke
Bro had a stroke
huh?
That means Kernel-pult is the best attacker, because it's the only plant in PvZ 1 that can theoretically kill a gargantuar alone.
Bames jond is having a stronk. Call the bondulance!
wtf are you saying
i swear bro, you can't leave us hanging...
gotta do one for every class now.
I'd like to point out that pumpkin effectively allows any other plant to outclass peanut.
I have an idea on how you could do this in order
-Sun producers
-Walls
-Attackers
-Fire attackers (fire peashooter, pepper pult, etc)
-Exploders (insta killers like cherry bomb or strawburst)
-Ice attackers (snowpea, winter melon,etc)
-Water attackers (seashooter, seashroom, etc) if that’s a class, idk
-Electric attackers (Lightning reed, electric blueberry, etc).
-Time hourglass guys, idk what they do, but that’s one of the classes (gravebuster, stunion, etc).
-Melee attackers (Bonk choy, etc).
-Magic attackers, idk
-Pincher attackers/ the scissors symbol, ik what they do (laserbean and others slice through an entire lane or sum).
-Launcher attackers (Coconut canon, Banana launcher, misiletoe, etc).
-Poison attackers (shrooms, and others).
-Shadow attackers (Nightshade, Shadowpea, etc).

Infinut with plantfood: Let me introduce myself
24:31 that poor peanut on the top be like: "well well well, if it isn't the consequences of my actions?"
When the most replayed part of the video is the beginning of the actual analysis, you mastered your process
I would add stallers as a classification because there are many stallers that don't do ANY damage and don't fit into any other categories
Me who doesn't play pvz: interesting
This was a very informative video and I felt like I could learn a lot from it.
Even though have of the things you said went over my completely.
Dude I’ve been so excited for this video!!!!
I see you’re a Hollow Knight enjoyer as well, nice!
Now, about the actual topic, since I unlocked Infinut I almost always use it, that’s why the Fisherman Zombie was a total joke to me, lol.
I love wall plants
i feel like your catch phrase should be
"Its Worth Keeping that in mind"
I was expecting this vid to be "torchlight zombie go brrr" but I'm pleased at how actually usable they are
I dont think Vamporcini is terrible, just people not using it with the right mindset. I use it more as a pseudo insta that does slight damage to zombies around it and then proceed as a wall there. Yeah, it's basically cooler tomb tangler. It can help deal slight damage to a horde, and then stall them out to group some of them up for splash dps to take advantage of. I do think it's a flawed plant, but every plant in the game might be better than the common consensus, it's just that they're good in specific niches while the more popular plants tend to be good regardless of situation
But yeah Pea-nut sucks lmao
It does damage at lv 1?
Pea nut great with reinforcemint tho
Peanut does the same thing you praise Vamporcini for, damage, but from a longer range and if zombies reach it then it will act as a well. It is functionally a straight upgrade compared to Vamporcini in every way except instant damage but in those cases you want instant damage Vamorcini loses out to actual instas and fails as a wall due to the hoard.
It's still better than Levitater
@@Buglin_Burger7878 if you're using pea-nut as a middle board disruptor like I suggest Vamporcini be used, pea-nut has to be placed closer to the house to take advantage of its shots which while has more damage potential over time, is different from Vamp's quick damage to *several* zombies at a moment. Placing a pea-nut in the middle of a horde is a bad idea since it's not gonna do much damage to the horde because it's gonna get eaten quick, and Vamp at least deals damage in an aoe before it gets devoured
Man i remembered when i went to jurrasic marsh just to get those op plants and cheesed early worlds sadly not possible now
I would love it if the next video of this series is on Support plants
idk much about master classes but theres a really cool photograph of an exceedingly buff primal wallnut that i really love
Hey bro thanks for the tips for sun producers it helped alot in levels rn I'm in post city thanks my brodda
Should’ve talked about blockoli. It does a lot of damage per hit and stuns. It also blocks fishermen, flying zombies, excavator, and more when closed. I honestly don’t think there’s another wall that has as much utility as an actual wall.
Pea nut is basically a tanky peashooter that is useful with limited seed slots as a multi use plant, and meant to be placed behind other walls, but in front of other plants so when the front line of walls get breached all your plants don’t just die. (Edit): also it’s plant food acts like both a peashooter and walnuts making it useful for hordes as it gains health and can wipe out a lane of weaker zombies
How is it useful with limited seed slots if its wanting to be used alongside a second wall? Use the one other wall and use the peanut seed slot for more dps / an insta.
@@thecreature4 if it is against a bunch of weaker zombies or can be healed (aloe Vera, penny pursuit ability, nut aid, ext) then use it alone
Creeps literally made a whole ass video on how bad pea nut is
@@amanbirbthe4th967 I don’t care
Except Pea-Nut sucks donkey balls.
Ok, recently I found a use for peanut, it is the best wall for dealing with backing attackers, this great for jurassic marsh as the enemies get past the front line so the tankier backlining is auctually useful, also it helps with the level in modern day dust up with flower line at the back and lots of pteradactyls
I have never played 2 in my life, and yet I never miss one of these
“ Wall plants tend to have bad food effects” -laughs in infinut wall that stops Gargantuars
he means that like "usually" or the average, not all
I just had a dream where you were doing this for straight shooters
I've been using Tall-Nut with Sweet Potato and Rotobaga recently in vanilla, and it's a surprisingly good synergy. Sweet Potato helps move zombies in Rotobaga's range, and Tall-Nut keeps them in that range.
That’s sounds cool I’ll try that
when i first saw explode-o-nut in game i was like "oh gosh so they used it outside of bowling" and thought it was a d tier plant ala peanut. later i realised it's surprisingly decent even if you don't use it as a second cherry bomb and use it more like a second primal wallnut
Thanks for this video it was helpful
When I first beat pvz2, I used reinforcemint and pea-nut for alot of Jurassic marsh, big wave beach, and modern day levels. It just worked too well.
you are soo underated you deserve 1 mill subscribers
Blockoli has become my favorite wall as of late. The way he's drawn reminds me of old newgrounds, games like Toss the Turtle specifically.
He has similar health to Tall-nut, 8k I believe? But he also blocks flying zombies like Tall-nut.
His main gimmick, being stunning the zombies, is pretty good against hoards. Especially if you can only put down 2, since their stun affects the lanes next to them as well. A couple of them are pretty good against a garg, since they'll be stunned for a while.
Unfortunately, they can hit stunned zombies. I don't believe it stacks, at least it didn't really seem that way for me. Makes his gimmick pretty meh, but I can kinda understand why? If they waited for the zombies to be ready, it would either:
Never attack
Or
Never let the zombies free
Overall: He's a pretty interesting wall. The only one I actually choose to get other than infi-nut. Glad I managed to get him
I kinda wish aloe was better, either longer range or better healing rate and healing at 75% instead of 50%.
I know the Chinese version heals all 8 adjacent tiles
The chinese version also has a chance to buff the attack and attack speed of the plants being healed, and can also freeze zombies.
Sweet potato is what garlic was in pv1. In pv1 garlic had more health and was far more useful to set and forget for at least a little while. Sweet potato in pv2 fills that redirect role since garlic fails.
great video
I like using Endurian, Spikerock, and Iceweed for MAXIMUM SPIKE
I personally love walls as well, they are very fun.
Never thought I’d know so much about nuts
0:35
I was terrified of what the endurians were wearing until i realized 2 seconds later that that's a scarf...
Vamporcini is quite a cool plant actually
Using it in hordes as an instant to kill the weak zombies and then block the tankier ones is useful actually
In that case though why not just use primal potato mine for half the cost to instakill nearly every zombie?
It’s to Cherry Bomb what Guacadile is to Jalapeño
@@thunderspark1536 well not everyone wants to do the basic option of making the game too easy
And some want to use other plants too
You forgot Tiger Grass. While it's not Technically a wall plant, it works as one really well, as the respawning tigers work basically the same way infi-nut does, while not suffering from insta kills nearly as much.
While everyone thinks its a mediocre melee plant, I personally think its one of the best wall plants out there, as it does enough damage to set up your economy without buying attack plants.
I thought everyone thought tiger grass was op, and it sure as hell looks like it when I see it in videos.
@@ZoofyZoof level 1 and it can kill most zombies fast absolutely shreddin em for sure regarded as op
i feel like you would enjoy chestnut from the Chinese version

imo they're more offense plants. if it was a wall, then hypnoshroom and zoybean would be walls

Chard guard is really overpowered sometimes in arena and infini nut’s plant food makes it good as well in certain occasions
I know it's kinda a not fun method, but peashooter and reinforcement is so funny. Just peas all over the entire screen.
Great vid again👍 please pick up your sun tho 😭😭
Chard Guard + Blover trick works in most cases. When being timed correctly, it can instant kill any zombies including Gargantuars.
Tall-nut + Celery Stalker can dominate a whole level in Far Future (when Gargantuar is not around), which is interesting.
Tomb Tangler - although not from Reinforce-mint family - works like a wall plant after swallowing a gravestone (and absorbing gravestone's HP).
chard + blover is inherently stupid, tall and celery get countered by football also btw, tomb tangler is in a weird spot where it's main thing is overshadowed by the slowing effect (that can stack btw)
@@NeoBing Chard Guard + Blover combo might be stupid but it makes Modern Day 30 a lot more easier.
Mecha-Football Zombie can push Celery Stalker only when it is exposing itself. Overall, it is still decent for its low sun cost (50 sun for each Celery Stalker).
@@pvz2darren_g MD Day 30 is easily cheesed by spikerock, and football mech can still counter tall. celery stalker's delay in going down can hurt it a lot as well in interactions with football.
