    A neat little tip from an endless zone grinder is that you should place the free turnip on your first sun producer if it isn't moonflower. Linking a sun producer to an offensive plant is better than two turnips on two offensives, since two offenses getting fooded is overkill in the early game, and lets you snowball earlier from the sun bursts, which in turn can let you plant even more turnips

    My favorite memories with PvZ2 was with this one UA-cam channel named “Captain Hack” and he hacked his game so he could have infinite sun and no recharge time and what he did was have tile turnip on every tile, plant a bunch of plants, and watch the insanity as the game lags to all hell and back. It was great and I loved seeing how far you can push the engine of the game.

  • @staticsphere_

    Personally, I never thought Turnip was a bad plant, but I generally try to avoid plant food use in the game, and I suspect much of the player base has varying views on plant food as a whole, which does directly impact the overall popularity of the plant. I think of it in a similar camp as bowling bulb, spore shroom, and others, where the concept is super unique and fun, but it’s held back by either viability or in the case of turnip, mechanics and balance of the games function as a whole (think laser bean or pirate seas, where the level design or plant design causes wave spam). I think people would be more open to turnip if power lily was more available overall, or if PF effects had a massive overhaul, where PF power scales much more with sun cost. I just personally don’t think PF is well designed, and I think tile turnip suffers from it.

      @gaerekxenos Рік тому +1

      For a lot of maps, I end up using Plant Food because... there is too much of it. Lightning Reed maps end up dealing with swarms very well, so you have the early parts of the level dealt with reasonably. Which then leads to a bit of stock for plant food. Then since Lightning Reed is such a low cost plant... the only option if you aren't using Tile Turnip left is to either replace them with stronger plants on some rows, or full field flood -- which full field flood becomes inefficient since some of them are too close to the front and get eaten. About 3~4 rows of lightning reed are necessary, at max. Which is where you end up having more sun than you know what to do with, so you stock for Tile Turnips. Since you only really need plant food for the heavy hitter enemies... you just end up with excess of plant food early on, so you drop one or two -- which then steamrolls, since lightning reed PF effects last awhile. Some maps get especially bad where you're left with 3 PF floating around while having full stock >

    • @staticsphere_
      @staticsphere_ Рік тому +3

      @@gaerekxenos Completely agree, pf is far too plentiful. I don't use lightning reed much so I can't really comment on it, but it just feels wrong to let pf despawn (like not picking up a diamond/coin). Usually if the pf bar is full I'll resort to using an effect that has little impact on the game, i.e. sun boost or a seed packet recharge. That being said, I can see its value as a late game option when you're completely overflowing with sun, but at that point you've likely already won the round, and picking it won't make much difference between winning/losing (other than maybe endless modes)

By the second plantfood you’ll have made a profit of 350 sun! Of course not just a profit of 350 sun of course you also get the 3 power tiles to get more sun, or to go into your powerful insta effects. Talking about plant food: I think a better design for it would be making it as a "tactical consumable" which is something more like upgrade or alter the plant behavior. I mean, most of the effects we currently have are "Nuke this" options and that is it. I think adding more different types of plant food effects that changes some strategies used on cactus or infi-nut would benefit it more. Plants having multiple plant food effects you can choose before starting a level which definetly gonna change a way plant is used in a positive way if strategy is involved. That is just my oppinion tho. I think plant food is heavily under-utilized mechanic...

It's essentially what makes PvZ and PvZ2 different, being one is a casual strategy game that still keeps you on your toes and the other is a "spam everything until you win and if that don't work just pay Popcap to level up your plant to be broken and spam again," game respectively.

      Oooh. I’m a fan of using Shrinking Violet in my Tile Turnip synergies. Try spamming Shadow Shroom plant food effects with Shrinking Violet. If you have poisoned zombies on the field, they’ll be cured for burst damage, so perhaps have an odd number of Shadow Shrooms if you want them to stay poisoned. Regardless, the Shrinking Violet will ensure the poison bursts do a complete team wipe in your favor. I forgot how powerful this is to gargantuars, since they are shrunk with no imp to throw… but try Shrinking Violet with 3 or 5 Shadow Shrooms. (That’s assuming you can afford the sun, which… is a problem to me too.)

I often don’t know how good certain plants are unless their use is explained to me. But I can usually tell when a plant sucks, and I don’t need a whole video to tell me why it sucks. I get more out of your videos when they’re about why a plant is good and how to use it properly. And, honestly, I enjoy these videos a lot more too :)

    It acts as a great 8th plant when you go back and replay worlds. Since it gives you a nice sun outlet, you aren't needing to keep open extra titles to make it work.
    You can even bring in other plants to see synergies since you would only realistically need about four plants to beat any given level.
    A good example of powercreep since it doesn't invalidate other plants yet instead further strengthens them and their powers.

    Would be nice if more things do that with player aiding gimmicks. A plant to make Rails to shift plants around from Wild west or a plant that changes other plant to suit the current enviroment from Modern day, like truning a peashooter into Ice or Fire in frozenland, or a Cannon into a Bannana launcher in the Beach world.

    I remembered using Tile Turnips to combo Shrinking Violet and then spam Shadow Shroom’s global poison. Every time Shadow Shroom’s Plant Food effect hits a poisoned target, it clears them and deals burst damage… but if you got an odd number of them, the poison is left. However, the Shrinking Violet leaves the zombies vulnerable to the poison (damage over time + burst damage) that only 1 Shadow Shroom is what you need for regular zombies (it goes through head armor). Try placing more than 3 if there is a shrunken gargantuan. Of course, you can compliment this global kill combo with what you will, like Iceberg Lettuce or Kernel Pult.

  • @alvynryansonzhuo2663
    @alvynryansonzhuo2663 Рік тому

    I love tile turnip cuz if you plant it on Sun-shroom or Primal Sunflower and feed it with plant food, you’ll farm a lot of sun. Seconds, if you plant it on Laser Bean, Citron, Primal potato mine, Powered Shadow-shroom, etc. and feed it with plant food, every zombie will instantly be erased from existence. Tile turnip with Winter Melon or other lobbing plants will instantly create a deadly rain of projectiles.
    But, the only disadvantage is that it gets more expensive every time you plant it. It’s 100% recommended to stock up on a lot of sun for tile turnip. Also (idk if it works but) use imitater to use it twice.

    • @flightyavian4580
      @flightyavian4580 11 місяців тому +1

      @@Quilquala spring bean isnt really that good of a stall imo. Yeah, it can knock zombies back a few tiles, but that is really not anything special. There is PF that can stall zombies way better like Iceberg lettuce PF or kernel PF. kernel PF is also really good for eliminating any zombies that are one-shotted by it and lasts a decent while. iceberg lettuce pf is also very decent. springbean however, is only really decent when it's pf is used. the other plants can still stall fairly decently without pf, but springbeans 2 tile knockback is a literal joke. iceberg lettuce and butter stall for way longer than it takes a zombie to walk 2 tiles and they are also just overall better than springbean. iceberg lettuce is inedible and springbean suffers from being overwhelmed very easily in crowds. kernel pult can actually damage zombies and has better pf. it's odds to fire butter are low but with enough of them you can quite easily permastall gargs, whereas springbeans can't really team up due to how they function. you can only really use one springbean every lane whereas you can use a lot of kernel pults to just stall and kill high damage targets. Springbean is only ever semi-decent in Pirate Seas, but the spammy nature of the game means springbean is only useful with it's pf and perhaps for slowing down earlygame. but clearing the entire board while fairly useful, might not justify bringing springbean enough. a cherry bomb even though it cant clear the whole board can usually just kill most land zombies due to pirate seas often having three connected lanes be the only planks, with the others only having threats that springbean either cant handle or doesnt matter like imp cannon, seagulls and the pelicans. the only thing springbean can really do is kinda kill the imps from imp cannon but it's recovery time isnt great, and kill swashbucklers but often they get spammed hard enough to slaughter any springbeans in their way. and anything paired with tiles is decent really. personally i find that iceberg lettuce or kernel on tiles paired with plants that deal high damage to everything on the board is a much better combo. for example, just a few tiles on some winter melons and you can nuke the entire screen while freezing it in place. or perhaps you could just combine debuff plants like shrinking violet with plantfood that targets the entire screen, and instead of pushing everything back you just kill all of it.
