  • Hey everyone,
Today, we're deep-diving into a mysterious stop-start issue plaguing a Mercedes A-Class. Trust me, the culprit hides in the most unexpected place! Get ready for some detective work, surprising reveals, and a happy ending (hopefully!). Fault code was B11C116.
Remember those old detective shows where they find hidden compartments? Yeah, that's the vibe here! After some digging, we stumbled upon a well-hidden auxiliary battery tucked away in the passenger footwell. Yep, you read that right - under the floor mat!
I'll safely disconnecting the old battery (safety first!)
Accessing the sneaky compartment (it's not as tricky as you may think!)
Swapping in the new battery (with a little TLC, of course)
Clearing any error codes to give the system a clean slate.
Do you know other car models that have hidden batteries? Share your stories in the comments! Ever faced a similar stop-start mystery? Spill the tea! ☕️ And for all our fellow Mercedes enthusiasts, any A-Class tips or tricks? Let's hear them!

Great video mate. My 2018 A Class 200D has just thrown up the battery warning symbol with the message 'stop vehicle and check the manual'. The Stop/Start use to be active almost immediately but over the 3 years I've had it it's taken longer and longer to become active (the orange indicator for it on the dash had to go green before it would kick in) to the point where it doesn't kick in at all now so I'm guessing it must be the Auxiliary battery which to my knowledge has never been changed, unlike the main battery which I replaced with a Bosch 3 years ago.
Il change the auxiliary battery now I've seen you superb video on it. Keep up the great work sir! 👍 🍻
