The amazing thing about MBs is that no matter how long you own one, you're always discovering new features hidden deep down in the car. Such marvelous engineering!
Imo they are over engineered. Built in redundancies, designs that aren't necessary, engineered so you need to bring them in to dealer for simple fixes that should be able be taken care of at home. Great cars to drive, not to own
Here in HoustonTexas I have had two MB mechanics tell me I need a new moon roof in 2015 S550 E. The dealership wants $4000.00 to replace it and the other guy wants $2500.00 to replace. after watching your video, I was able to re set the moonroof after three tries. Thank you very much sir
I am a mechanic all my life, never work at Benz Dealership. 14 years ago I decided to purchase a 2004 E-500 4matic Mercedes with a blown Engine due to Hijostatic 🔐. First owner drove the car 🚗 in water that was to high 😳 and it suck the water from the grill intake ducks. One connecting rod was broken and six was bent badly two piston Skirt was broken the block had holes on both sides. and was also cracked with the oil pan 15,000 miles was on the car 🚗. Due to the year of the car at the time was just two years old I couldn't find a suitable Engine for the car. So I decided to repair the Engine, crazy right. Well I did it. Same Engine. Only internal parts was replaced not including crankshaft camshaft six pistons oil pump and chain. 129,000 miles now is on the 🚗. Still has the car. You're videos are very good and understandable. I like them and appreciate you. Keep up the good work 👏 👍. Thanks.
Just purchased a shiny 2013 MB E350 with a uniquely low mileage in very good running condition. I'm still in the learning stage of its various tech features although this is my seventh Mercedes in the past 30 years! Have been watching various guiding Mercedes videos in UA-cam but yours is The Best as far as helpful tips are concerned. My local favorite Mercedes mechanic can't hold a candle to you for your excellent tips! Please continue your excellent work, I am sure any Mercedes vehicle owner would appreciate your efforts!
From the 10:00 minute mark to the10:45 mark - you gave the information that I needed. THANK YOU for your GENEROSITY and TIME !!! The good manners you display surely make your Mom and Dad very proud ! U put a shine on both yourself and your parents ! It's { good manners } what our world needs so much now, thanks again .... ROLAND
Actually MB Dealerships like me, because they share my videos with their customers. That saves a lot of time to their salespeople, as they can concentrate on selling instead of explaining how to use the car. Although, when I worked in sales, I've always liked to explain myself, because that's how you get the repeat business.
I knew 3 out of 7. The door lock, the window and sunroof. Mostly from trails and error. Whenever I forget something about my car I always go back to your videos.
I have owned Benzos for almost 25 years and currently own five of them, and have never had any of these issues. The most important thing for a Mercedes owner to know, is a Non dealer Benz specialist who knows the cats because the dealership is a stealership. They will rip you off royally. Even if they know the cheap fix for an issue, many times they'll recommend something expensive followed by "more troubleshooting". They are there to take your money. It's imperative that you find a local shop that's preferably family owned for several years, they'll have a reputation to uphold, and will cost you so much less. Better than that though, are the two mercedes forums, where you can learn literally everything you need to know, and those are free. The money you will save by doing your own maintenance will be phenomenal.
It's great to be able to find a knowledgeable independent MB shop. But if they are not knowledgeable enough, they may actually cost you more, because some are doing "try and fail" technics. Although more expensive, MB service department, can actually save you money by doing the right thing in the first place. One example is 2003-2005 E and SL-Classes had Sensotronic braking system, which was highly pressurized. Some people trying to perform the brake jobs on their own - ended up in the hospital with damaged hands. I'd still recommend the local MB dealership service department for the newer vehicles, especially those under the warranty.
Your just amazing!!!!! I am a serious car enthusiast, had many MB over the years, starting with SL 560 1988. Always read manuals and looking at books and magazines. What I learn in your Chmiel is beyond believe!!!! Thank you
@@gilsonrogeriolimaoliveira2807 That is very noble of you Gilson. If I ever have problems with my MB, the next time I am in Brazil, I will stop in to let you take a look at my vehicle. My local MB dealership wanted to charge me over $200. just to see why my sunshade did not come back along with the glass when the sun roof is closing. Honest mechanics like you are few, and far apart.
@@aceavram712 I see no reason to charge for things that are just small adjustments. This helps to build confidence, and the costumers will come later to do the real expensive things.
You are a genius man... it is so handy... I will try that oil reseting warning on my GLE 300d 2016. BUT how do you do that for an older car? like my C300 2010... which does not have that secret menu... My wife uses that old car very little, only 4000KM a year and I don't want to change the oil after so little driving, that dammed warning light for service is driving me crazy. I am quite sure a lot of your followers would love to know. Congratulation again for your fantastic and useful videos... Great job.
I was wrong, actually it works as well for older cars, I just tried it on my C300, the secret menu is not as fancy as on newer cars but it did cancel the annoying warning message, it worked perfectly. I am so glad and it saved me some $$$, thanks you again for your videos, they are very well presented and clear. I have watched each one of them several times, there is so much to learn. Thanks again.
Just bought my first Mercedes. It's used, but it's mine, and I absolutely love it. I just discovered your channel (subscribed), and it's amazing!!! Thank you!!!
Great tips thanks. I knew about 4 or so but I'm so glad I found this channel coz there must be so much else to learn esp for us with older models who don't wanna run to merc every time a tiny thing goes wrong
Thanks for the window synchronization item. I was having the problem and had an appointment booked to fix it. Did the 5 second trick and the second time everything is back to normal!!! Huge relief. Thanks again ! I have a B250 2014.
Just bought my first MB e550 4M (March 2020). I liked everything you talked about especially the money saving parts. I didn't know anything. Well worth watching again.
Great page with some really awesome tips! I used to have the sunroof issue on my old ML 350 and I just learned to live with it. Wish I had seen your page when I still had it.
I had a manual sunroof on my new 1971 220D, as well as, crank windows and standard transmission. Life was good. Fun on the Autobahn and country roads in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Belgium, Liechtenstein and Netherlands. Fuel.
I have a 1998 Mercedes Benz and the sun roof was stuck in open position and your quick fix worked. One thing I still haven't got it fixed is adjusting the mileage service even following the manual.
I have a MB350 E Some time ago when I started the car it would NOT go into gear until I turned it off and RE STARTED it. Worked every time . I was told it was caused by some sensor in the front wheels . I was not convinced that was the problem. I just happened to buy a new battery and It fixed the problem . I was happy and amazed.
Thinking of buying a used E Class and happy to find your channel. Always like to save money or if still under warranty then time saving alone makes it worth watching. Really nice job but, yeah, there's always a but, I could do with fewer animations. It's not a biggy though as your probably just expressing your artistic talent. There.....feel better!
I was expecting this to be the same old stuff that's always in these videos. Very good info. Especially the keyless go issue. I've replaced batteries and it didn't work. I just went with the idea tht the entire system is messed up. I always double click, Thanks for posting this video.
