Hello, I succesfully go into engineering mode, i do everything the tutorial suggests but i can't seem to activate android auto. The only difference between my car and the tutorial one is that in the variant coding page 2, on the remote ui applications section, the remote ui services, carplay via usb and automotive link via usb are all off by default. Once i turn them all on and i restart the car the modifications i did do not apply, apart from the ci screen type. Do you have any suggestions? Edit: my car is a mercedes a160 from 2017 if it can help identify the problem
Help needed, followed all steps, changed logo etc etc however.. Once I hold the on button for 10 seconds the systems reboots fine.. then new logo comes up and no car play or android auto :( every time I set the coding page and do all the exact steps but the UI settings go back to default every time :( please help :(
Any clue why it keeps turning off for me? I saved the settings (AMG logo to confirm this), but when I go back to the settings page the UI is turned off again (Also for Apple Carplay) I tried it multiple times and it keeps going back to 'off'. The AMG logo stay which i'm really happy with!

I have the same issue, I was looking for why, and i recently found that perhaps we have to reset to factory befor doong this, im going to try, because the only thing that was able to do was to change logo but the Apple car play and android auto did not appear. I have a B200 2018 in Argentina. If i mange to change it i will answer here!!!

Pause the video at 1.56. at the bottom of the infotainment screen where it says android auto drive levels, make sure you match those numbers or this won't work. You can do it by highlighting the boxes and enter the numbers with the car keypad then set page and you're good to go.

Hi, as seen with a few others mine keeps resetting to no on the apple carplay selection. I’ve changed the load icon to AMG, you mentioned maybe a software update, can this be done from the engineering menu also? I noticed there was a section for that but was too scared to click it haha. Thanks
I would appreciate if someone advice or guide, I went into the engineering mode and activated carplay since my car is equipped with it. But as soon as I save and exit to go reboot the system I can see that the option is back to off and for as much as I keep toggling the option back on as soon as I leave the page it goes back so the carplay option never shows on my screen when I connect my phone.

Odd, I have a 2017 A class and I can only access the Variant Code menu option when I disable log marks instead of enable which seems to be the default. Rest of the settings I follow as you described. Menu's are identical but it's a no go for me unfortunately.

I have been able to go into the engineer menu only after doing a factory reset on the vehicle menu. Unfortunately, variant coding menu is the only one greyed and I could not go further in my attempts to switch Android Auto. My car is a B250ed (electric drive W242 similar to W246 for most parts of the dashboard).
Mate this is amazing!! Is there a way you can acitave the Boost gauges and dials on the a45? Unfortunately i didnt have the command option spec...but apparently its literally something like this a click on a button to activate it. I needed to hold down end call, 1, 3 and hash. You also need to make sure that the codes at the very bottom of the page match the ones on the video , you use the telephone pad to change the digits. Pause the video at 1.56 to see the codes.

My setting is already active in the car settings, I have made sure CarPlay is not restricted on my iPhone and it still won’t connect in the second media port it just charges my phone… I’m think maybe the USB is at fault.
I managed to get onto the engineering menu and I changed the loading screen which proves it saved that setting however it does not save my settings regarding the remote UI applications. On my screen it has it set that the RUI settings are off for remote UI. I have tried to mirror your selections on this video but when I go to set the page it doesn't save my changes. Any ideas????

Got the exact same car turned everything on as described on vodeo. The only thing that worked was the change of logo, it seems to not set the page to on, it just goes back to off when you check it

I tried this on my 2016 W176 AMG Line premium, the start up screen changes to type 1 which shows it works but the apple car play etc setting is turned off when you go back to the menu? Am I doing something wrong?
That is very odd. Let me get back to you on that. Currently away for a few weeks though. If I recall correctly, I think there were some related settings on page 3.
Just curious: did you also enable the "Remote UI Services" option, which is next to the CarPlay/Automotive Link options? I should have called that one out in the video.

You need a OBD2 activation tool, after that it will be activated. I had the same problem.

Hi, i cannot enter the engineering menu on my A Class from 2016. The 3 buttons combinaison does nothing. Any idea ?
