This is an incredibly good video. Your teaching style is A+ Just watched 17 min of wood staining while completely captivated. Lol You predicted questions the viewer might have, followed a progression of simple to more complex, quality camera work. I could go on
Your presentation and logic behind every action are exceptionally good. I am learning a lot from your videos; keep it simple as it is, and keep teaching beginners like me.
Annika you really, really read my mind Thank you 💕 for the stain on wood video I love that bcs it's a lot of tips, just what I needed RONALD ❤ Thanks again Annika
I’ve rendered down some beeswax and wanted to use it as part of a timber finish. Can you cover this in a more in depth video about finishes? I’ve been looking to potentially create a blend of beeswax and timber oil (maybe/maybe not, add a small amount of sealant in the mix like a polyurethane or shellac additive) Really enjoy your tutorials and it has certainly helped with my confidence in using power tools ☺️💕
Stripping, sanding, and staining a coffee table this weekend. I don’t know if you covered this in past videos but I am having trouble determining what color of stain to buy to get the look I’m trying to achieve. I hope to take your power tool class soon. Love your videos!
Maybe, go to a real paint store (e.g., Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore) and tell them the wood type and the desired effect. Pictures might be helpful.
Hi Anika! This was greatly informative and educational. Highly useful! Thank you!! I use Poplar and when I stained it even after the prestain, I noticed that some stain on the board (board was 10" long) stained nicely in some areas but in some areas just pulled away leaving a very light area. It looked awful... I sanded and spray painted some of my products. 😢 After seeing your video, I will try sanding in 60 grit increments because I'm hoping that was the problem. I was sanding with 80, then 120, then 220. Jumping to the 220 might have been it. I'm a baby woodworker, so I'm using water-based stain to make things easier for me. Also, any other recommendations. I also heard that Poplar is not a good wood to stain. What are your opinions?
Not sure if you will see this but question. I purchased a cookbook holder it’s pine wood and has a monogram burned into it, I believe it was already sanded. can I just stain it as is? Or will I have to sand it again? I’m worried about the monogram coming off.
I just ordered some butcher block for a laundry room countertop. Am I able to apply the halcyon directly to the wood without any conditioner, stain or other finish? Thank you for your videos.
Have you ever done water popping instead of conditioner. You want the grain raised to take the stain evenly. If the fibers are closed it won't take the stain as evenly

Hi Anika, what wood filler that you used on plywood on one of your videos? Thanks
Nice video

If it is burned into it, light sanding will be ok. if the monogram is painted or stained, it will come off
@ thank you so much for replying
