It should most folk who used the kaos pads made it sound like shit why that Ibanez years ago was a big blunder that had one on it, I'd really like to try one if possible though as a guitarist
probably the most equipped guitar of all time,...the sustainer, kill switch, and the kaoss pad, totally normal, considering matt bellamy has 2-3 jobs on the stage,...
U clearly never saw a manson Dolorean, got all sort of pickups, a theremin, midi pad, sustainiac, piezo pickup, motherbucker, p90, kill switch, fuzz factory etc..
IT HAS A MIDI CONTROLLER ON IT, Some of us want to know what it can do and also what is in that guitar. Because some of us build guitars. I literally built a tele and yes I wanted to know the full specs of Matt Bellamy's guitar because it is unusual. You'd know that if you bothered watching the full video assuming you can bring your attention span up higher than that of an ant. It was 6:33 . WTF patience is a virtue I can clearly see no one ever said that to you.
I love Matt's style so much. Because he can't play to the top of his ability whilst performing (he has to sing) he ladens it with effects, and creates something truly unique, yet not complex in the extreme. It's brilliant, and then he goes and comes up with this; a dream realised by true genius, but something he himself uses. Amazing.
the pad at the base of the guitar is just an x-y pad, you can hook it up to control anything from a kaoss pad (sound effects like what matt does) to controlling the stage lighting. it is very versatile
The step filter, The Step Filter, THE STEP FILTER!!!!! How is that not incorporated more into music in general, its such a cool effect? I added it to a song I wrote and had a simple acoustic playing chords and just followed the chords like I was playing a bass (single notes on thickest string and lowest note I could get) since the effect is so pronounced and that sounds epic. Listening to Muse automatically makes you unafraid to try out new things, they incorporate so much into music. And they are masters of turning a literal ugly sound into something beautiful, if you know what I mean. Very cool band with very cool instruments. Inventive as all hell. I don't like the price tag on it but it is its own midi controller and has quite a few on board effects coupled with it. So I guess it sort of explains its price.
I think tom just used a pickup selector with the pickup turned down for a kill switch (saw him in 1992). He may have had an actual kill switch made up later.
I think he did not have much idea of how to use practice made very very simple examples. The easiest thing would have been to do something kind Matt B., because the guitar was made for your taste and need ...
Matt uses Hugh Manson custom made guitars made in Devon,Exeter in the UK.He’s got a quite good number of Mansons. The first and most famous is his silver Manson. The new ones he’s got right now which he uses some in concerts are the ones with Kaoss pad on the side.
A technical marvel I'm sure, but absolutely the FUGLIEST Tele/LP/Dolly Parton mashup I've ever seen! What the hell is that tumor of an upper horn on the body about!
@KieranHand01 they are influenced by queen, but that's the only song i've heard by them that sounds very similar to queen... dont hate on muse they're inspired by, not rip offs :3
They are well built guitars and its pretty much a tricked out tele. Have you not heard a tele before? We all know what they sound like, we do NOT know the full specs of the guitar especially since it is sporting a midi controller with quite a few effects under the hood. It requires an explanation as he literally explained at the start that it played like any other tele. Some of us build guitars so some of us require the specs if we don't want to pay for something we can build. Plus you act like you are buying that exact guitar, guitars have variables that are slight that change from guitar to guitar, one you may buy might sound exactly the same or it could sound different. If you aren't buying that exact guitar (the one he is holding) there is no reason to put it through its paces, I am sure the person who owns it will do that, which is probably the guy in the video. If it sucked I am sure he would have said something to that effect. He is holding it, not you.
can you guys please all shut up, Radiohead is an incredible band that gives me stunning moments every day. and you know what: muse is that too! matt bellamy is a genius in his way and thom yorkie/ jonny greenwood in their way. i mean seriously, don't you have better things to do than comparing those two? just sit back and enjoy what they created.
@heroandthieves Very few of us left, for some reason people's ears have begun to bleed and the belief has taken over that a amp modelling software somehow can attain the same sound as a real amp. Clearly, these individuals to my mind have not owned a real tube amp.
@InfamousTrapper25 there are tutorials to do it yourself and else just ask about it in a music store. do you live near a Guitar Center? i've been in america and visited a guitar center and im pretty sure they can help you ;D just aks ;)
@EeroVT "go whee ur sister." i suppose you got the full stop in the right place but you might want to work on the rest of that sentence, cos i makes no sense what so ever and all.
Toss in a piezo-equipped Wilkinson/Gotoh-type bridge with Locking Tuners and you've got a guitar that could rival the Parker Fly Adrien Belew Signature Model as The Ultimate Guitar.
@70panpan Hardly, it's like buying a brand new 2012 car instead of a old 1800's car....the guitars are just getting more advanced as is everything else in the world.
@BeautifulTragedyx21 Well, I found the ignorance in my post shortly after. I should know better than to believe that his Manson's were strictly one-offs.
i'm not sure what the actual switch is as it is integrated onto the PCB, the sustainer used in the manson mb-1 is the twin coil FSK-101 however the one that matt bellamy started off using in his M1-D1 and the one i use, steve vai, the edge etc. is the FSK-401 which is a single coil pickup, the 401 version of the sustainer comes with a custom FIG humbucker too which is why that one is more expensive but the FSK-101 doesn't have the mixed harmonic mode which the single coil has. hope i helped :)
@sickmetalicman I'm not saying he's a guitar god I'm saying they make good songs and don't over do it with solos just cause the songs that get the most focus are the simple ones and they did a couple of half assed songs for twilight to be noticed in the usa I've seen them live on a few occasions apart from playing about with effects before songs they're rarely on and never used the midi board till after 2005 and sounded good since 1999 if u cant play effects wont help they'll just make it worse
@sickmetalicman The ones you mentioned are typical guitarists that will be playing same stuff for their entire carrer. Matt is sort of a visionary, he implements new things...Just because he doesn´t play wild solos you can´t tell he´s not a good guitarist. Would you call The Edge a poor guitarist ? He plays quite few notes in majority of U2 songs, but he´s got his signature sounds, and his riffs are legendary.
The nice man has forgotten to tell you that the guitar costs around £3000. And that's before you add on the chaos pad! I believe that's an extra £300! You can get all the same noises (effects!) from a Roland VG-99 for less than a third of the price. And one other thing you might want to think about, could you use any of these sounds in any of your songs?
5:21 Didn't Matt destroy this guitar on stage THEN Hugh Manson put it in the glass case? I remember seeing pictures of it and the white screen over the KP2 pad was missing as well as the bottom half of the guitar in shreds. Hence, Manson putting it in the case. But it looks perfectly fine (minus the tuning heads)
Yeah guys, it's a crime to get innovative!! Come on, Bellamy IS a guitarist, and even if he hasn't played the greatest and most technical solos, he has created some awesome riffs and plays great while singing too, so give him a break...
@DaSoul11 Sorry about that. I was quoting an article I'd read on the net about it. However, your information now tells me it's going to cost even more to set up! And there was me being ashamed of spelling "kaoss" wrong!
@BeautifulTragedyx21 He smashed his Gibson LP DC Lite back when he used it all the time. Apparently, the headstock snapped off but his guitar tech was able to set it back into place and he was able to use it the next day. Off course, being as big as they are now, I'm sure Muse have plenty of reserve. Matt probably planned on getting the new glitterati and decided to go all out for the HD recording :]
@sirtoyou Just a quick note, there is no kaoss pad in the guitar, its an X/Y pad midi controller which can be used with a kaoss pad or some other similar midi device
@mastersilversoul Haha that's a nice joke but Bellamy is a huge farcry from the best guitarists ever. Plug in Baby was voted best 21st century riff so presumably it's his greatest riff and I do love that song but it only takes an hour to learn, nothing particularly difficult about it. On the other hand, I've been learning the live version of I'm So Afraid by Fleetwood Mac, i.e. Lindsey Buckingham and that's taken me a couple of weeks just to get halfway through the solo
Not at all like that. Matt only uses the kaoss pad for certain effects. If you ever listened to muse or watched them play live you'd realise this is the case.
Does it come with a Matt Bellamy?
It should most folk who used the kaos pads made it sound like shit why that Ibanez years ago was a big blunder that had one on it, I'd really like to try one if possible though as a guitarist
