The point of the video was to show the capabilities of his synth guitar, and it did just that. Of course you won't be getting the same harmonic depth when you play it on a guitar.
Phijkchu Shuckle what you have to remember is on the album the bass is playing behind the synth which is a Roland jp-8000. So it's s lot closer than you think. They did this live too up until 06/ black holes tour. They started doing it again on the unsustainable tour.
@@karlcovers7963 Glad someone else said this. It's one of their few "synth bass" parts, actually played by a synth. Chris made the distinction that sometimes he performs "synth lines" like Hysteria.
I was totally expecting the solo from dark shines as it was played using a synth pickup and a trumpet patch I believe! Some really cool mods you've done to bring even more out of the synth pickup.
Really awesome, sweet as. Totally jealous though! Subbed :) Thought about getting one of those Roland pickups on and off for ages, but never heard any sounds that swayed me, you've changed that!
Possessing a Fuzz Factory I can guaranty this is how it really sounds just a tad bit more unlatched, this beast really is hard to apprehend and sounds pretty bitcrushed, I got to make it sound as clean as possible. And get myself a freaking noise gate too hahaha
Wow! That's really cool man What is this vKnob? I mean I've always wanted to be able to control wha and whammy from my guitar! Had no idea it was possible 😄 So how do you make that vKnob control pedals instead of just volume? Thank you sir
"f you have a request for re-creating the tone or sound of a song or artist that you like, please post suggestions in the comment section." It would be great to see a re-creation of the fuzz-like tones in "Spirit in the Sky" I've tried (without success) many times using the Roland GR-55. If you succeed please show the patch details!
awesome, brohhh...!!! never knew before using roland GK. but i think it can be replaced with pitch shifter effect + expression pedal next to fuzz pedal.
well done sir! can you explain more on that guitar and pickup? Is that a roland midi pickup? is it polyphonic? Does it plug directly into a midiflow usb interface and send out general midi, or does it have to go through a roland proprietary box?Im trying to build a similar guitar. I want to send midi directly to my daw to my guitar. any info Would be greatly appreciated. thanks
The guitar is normal strat which I've modded with a killswitch, Fernandes sustainer and a Gk-3 pickup. I don't use the killswitch during Map of the problematique, but the sustainer is being used as well as the GK-3
Hi! I'm using the GP-10 guitar pedal for all effects, most of which are customized within the GP-10 so I can use the buttons/ dials on my guitar to modify the effects as I play
Great tones and sounds! But how did you setup your guitar? You bought a GK divided pickup and then installed additional knobs to control more parameters?
Артём Окнедис yep that's it, I installed the additional knobs in areas on the guitar I thought would be most convenient, I can then assign what they control on each patch through the software
What sustainer control? I just was thinking to upgrade my stratocaster to synth guitar for a long time, so I'm really interested in how did you do that. Maybe once you'll do video of what did you do to your guitar, it'd be interesting. Or maybe you can recommend some links to read about it.
That's my Jim Root Telecaster but it's been heavily modified to have a kill-switch and Roland Synth pickup, the best option would be visit a guitar tech with a guitar you don't mind taking apart and installing the parts seperately
Both guitars are heavily modified and cannot be bought as they are. The Telecaster is a Jim Root Squire with an added killswitch and GK pickup system. The Stratocaster is a standard strat with added fernandes sustainer, killswitch and GK pickup system.
I'm looking forward to build a guitar like the one you used to play fury, what electronic device or component did you add to that guitar to give it that effect?
Hey, the effect is actually rather simple to do, it's a pitch bend pedal with a bit of delay. Normally the pitch is controlled via the foot pedal but after a lot of modding and the right gear, you can set it to be controlled on a knob on the guitar.
@@YourNewEmpire Thanks for clarifying the effect, i've been using a wah instead. I'm using an midi program that comes with a variety of effects and have been trying many arduino builds to some how manage to do it, which do work, but I'm still working on making the build more compact to fit it into the guitar. I'm guessing you have it built into your guitar, right?
Thanks mate, I'm using a Jim Root Tele which has been modified heavily, the pickups are passive humbuckers. The other is a mexican standard Strat which has also been modified heavily, it has a humbucker and two single coil pickups
Man, that map of the problematique sounds so awesome
Thank you, I'm happy with how it turned out. I've always been a fan of the song itself!
That little expression bar on the tele has got to be one of the coolest things I've ever seen!
Map of the Problematique was the one Muse effect that my friend just could never get right at school, even with all his pedals. Cracking effects.
Maybe I'm missing the point, but Time is Running out sounds much better on a Bass. On a synth guitar it sounds so empty.
Well, it wasn't exactly designed for basslines. Bass feels more... i don't know, meaty ? The sound is a lot more defined and nice and bassy
The point of the video was to show the capabilities of his synth guitar, and it did just that. Of course you won't be getting the same harmonic depth when you play it on a guitar.
while the video shows us that it's quite a doable thing to replicate the sound, that melody is indeed the bass line
Phijkchu Shuckle what you have to remember is on the album the bass is playing behind the synth which is a Roland jp-8000. So it's s lot closer than you think. They did this live too up until 06/ black holes tour. They started doing it again on the unsustainable tour.

ow boi that plug in baby tone end up sounding mint
Almost as good as the original one.
Holy shit, those pickups are heavenly.
wow never seen midi whammy bar before!
That Fury sounded great!🤘
Thank you! I appreciate the kind words🤘

Who is this faceless genius? Some say he looks like a pirate.
And some say he looks like a parrot.
The DOOO v2
The dooo 2.0
Thank you Your New Empire, very cool
Those are some seriously modded guitars.
They look sick!
when are you going to show us how to install these synth things on our own guitars
yea man still waiting those kind of stuff
He said he was working on one (but obviously it's a complicated and detailed video)
Beyond great!! Super fantastic great!! What a treat, wasn’t expecting to be blown away. I love what you’ve done here.
Thank you for the kind words!
I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
damn you are guitar synth master

Please do a tutorial on how to get the map of the problematique sound and the kaos pad
Ben King Matt Bellamy use à Whammy pedal with à midi input pattern for this
Map of the problamatique sounds good.
PLEASE MAKE A TUTORIAL!!! I NEED THIS
Your New Empire hey any updates on the tutorials?
Guitar setup dope af yo, I'm impressed!
Excellent video, good job :) !
I need this. Now.
this is amazing! thx for publishing it
I would love to know more about your guitar mods! The little bar you have on the knob is so clever.
The little bar is called a vknob and it really is great!

I love plug in baby
It's awewome! Thank you very much!
How about uprising intro?
Those guitars are siiiiiick
fury was amazing
Wow grest sounds, do u think its possible to simulate the madness song effect?
this video diserves a few millions of views
very creative 👏👏👏
Thanks very much!
Qué efecto tienes en plug in baby? Como cuadraste la GR-55 para que sonara así?
Hello ! First of all, you rocks. I wanted to know what kind of sound effect are you using for Map of problematique and for Fury, please ?
That used to be a Jim Root Telecaster
Wow, that's so cool!
Are you a wizard?
awesome, brohhh...!!!
never knew before using roland GK. but i think it can be replaced with pitch shifter effect + expression pedal next to fuzz pedal.
a whammy my man. You can even get a whammy DT, its more complete.
That pitch bend effect sounds like a theremin.
Man, covering Fury hit me. It's not the casual Muse fan who can cover the B-sides
Hehe, thanks! Fury is a great song
i love map of the problematique
Podrías mostrar la configuración de Plug and baby; en la Roland GR-55? O que synth utilizas en esta canción?
man how you do this on guitar? what the name of this device on guitar?? the video is really good !! make a cover of the complete songs!
Thanks man, the device is a gk3 it is part of the gp 10 pedal board. Glad you enjoyed the video!
Can you teach us about your setup on Fury? It was amazing, subbed!
Nandira Prayoga the way Matt plays it is with a digitech whammy on +/- octave harmony
and don't forget to add lots of delay (except in the verses) !
Por favor dime que patch utilizas con el pedal Roland GR-55. O el synth que utilizaste en Plug in baby.

you deserved a sub
so how do you get that note to sustain that long i need to know loll like is there a sustain pedal or is it built into your guitar
It's a mod pickup built into the guitar called a Fernandez sustainer. It's great
@@YourNewEmpire thank the lords you saved me a bunch of research !🙏
what synth pedal is happening? i need that plug in baby tone
what the name effek plug in baby in your guitar? please
Still waiting for that tutorial video.
cool man
Thanks!
Amazing !
How did you add the buttons to your guitar,I want to make a guitar like yours too.
Can you please provide full name and model of the guitar synth you're using for muse maps of the problematic ?
The guitar is normal strat which I've modded with a killswitch, Fernandes sustainer and a Gk-3 pickup. I don't use the killswitch during Map of the problematique, but the sustainer is being used as well as the GK-3
Where do you get the sound fx
Amazing video! Any tips on getting your guitar tones?
what pedals are you using? or is it just that guitar synth thing?
Hi!
I'm using the GP-10 guitar pedal for all effects, most of which are customized within the GP-10 so I can use the buttons/ dials on my guitar to modify the effects as I play
damn you play Fury better than MB ahahah
nice job
Thanks so much! That means a lot to me 🙂
@@YourNewEmpire i'm producer and i would like to talk to you about your midi customs , i'm interested please add me on FB : Adrien Saura
Cool!
RESPECT!!! Ciao!!
Map of the problematique has an off-beat octave shifting pattern appearing here and there that you didn't play, but other than that - nice sounds :)
どこでそんなギター売ってんのか教えてくれ!頼む!
They are custom made

Артём Окнедис yep that's it, I installed the additional knobs in areas on the guitar I thought would be most convenient, I can then assign what they control on each patch through the software

Артём Окнедис yes, except for the killswitch and sustainer controls

not enough gain and high end on the fury part. the whammy is really fucking cool. it also needs delay cause damn
Totally, delay would have really completed the sound. It's one of those things I only noticed after finishing the recording 🤦♂️
Your New Empire otherwise tho, its super super super sick
WOW
Where did you get the Tele guitar from
It's just a stabdard jim root telecaster but it's been very heavily modded
where did you buy your effects?
for some reason I feel you are a robot
not a good job. but GOD job!! ur geunius bruhh..
Fuck amazing
Just great
what pedal are you using for the guitar synth
Great video mate! This really triggered my curiosity :P What kind of guitar and pickups are you using?
Thanks mate, I'm using a Jim Root Tele which has been modified heavily, the pickups are passive humbuckers. The other is a mexican standard Strat which has also been modified heavily, it has a humbucker and two single coil pickups
I was expecting you to do the guitar part in unsustainable. Great video though.
That would be great, perhaps in the future though. Thanks for the kind words!
What guitar model is that?
Colbey Tracy is Custom
Where did you get that sick pickguard on the strat?
Glad you like it, man. It's a hand drawn pattern on a standard pick-guard using ink pens.
Your New Empire really well done, looks cool
Is that a Jim Root Telecaster?
It's heavily modded but yep, it's a Jim Root
where did u get the guitar from?
aha Roland GK3 I just sold it I want to keep my setup as simple as possible live.
Crazy!
make more video about muse please!!
What kind of guitar is that?
I didn t know these sounds were generated by electronic guitars
totally 👍
Che roba è?
this is how alien sounds when you, if you are lucky enough to talk to one. outer space shite you didn't know about🙃
which is the name of the first guitar you play?
Jim Root telecaster, it's been heavily modified though :)
Fuzz. Fuzz. Fuzz. And fuzz.
fuckin amazin
What guitars do you use?
The two guitars in this video are a modified Jim Root Telecaster and the other is a modified Mexican Strat
