Today's artists are playing for free in local lounges and bars including my son in Brooklyn where bars want them to bring 40 people per band. All the greats including Tom started out playing for free anywhere that had electricity for the guitars
Another one of my heroes in concert... I know I've seen Tom Petty and Heartbreakers at least four or five times but got to love the man awesome songwriter great band Phenomenal band...
Came across this looking for Chris Robinson’s spiritual rant about the summer solstice during the opening act, this same night. Thanks for the memories!
This is a really a beautiful concert. Fir me all the musicians are really at their best and what about those fantastic back up singers. Great energy.♥️✌️
Mike Campbell is a legend…he co-wrote a ton of their big hits and wrote Don Henley’s “Boys of Summer”. THE DIRTY KNOBS is Mike’s band and they just released a rock n roll masterpiece…some songs are “wicked mind…Electric Gypsy…Irish Girl…Wreckless Abandon…”if you’re a fan of PURE American rock, you’ll love it.
Awesome!! I was at this show. Black Crowes opening act. Some fans around where we were sitting smoked with us & Pettys sound was big!! Incredible mix! Especially “Turn This Car Around.” I remember thinking what a great new TP song that was. Thanks for posting this.
That is so cool that the Black Crows opened up for Tom Petty and The Heartbreaker’s. When the Black Crows came out for me rock- n- roll was going away a little and it seemed to me they brought that good old sound back. I used to wait on them at a little deli here in Atlanta in the 90’s and they were always gracious and cool guys to wait on but I never waited on Chris and Rich at the same time. Yea really good guys and a kick ass band. My sister worked at the same deli also and she waited on Rich a little more than I did and she just loved Ruch and his girlfriend who I believe became his wife later. I miss those days and I miss her. I like your blog.✌️ 🦋
Laurence... You seem to encourage us to hear that CAR song that is included.... Yes?... no? If you really did want people to appreciate or enjoy it..... You just do something simple like this: 12:49 What you did was the incomplete expression of a recommendation. 48:57 All Work Out
If you have 'rare" TP video..do you have Jones Beach 1998.. I am looking for a live video of RHINO SKIN ..I had that on a VHS but my VHS are gone .. Also any live video from the 91 tour of ALL OR NOTHING?
I do have a live video of “All or Nothin’” posted on this channel. The Jones Beach 1999 show from the ‘Echo’ tour (they didn’t tour at all in 1998) is something I don’t have and it isn’t listed on online bootleg databases so I didn’t know it existed! There is lots of fan video from the 1991 tour (the Orlando and Gainesville shows as well as the Michigan show) on others’ channels.

Saw TP&HB 8 times between 1999 and 2017. I'm so grateful for those memories, and I'm so sad I'll never get to experience that feeling again. :(
I met Tom Petty in Gainesville in 1984. It was a free concert. He was kind and generous . We shook hands. I still love him

I usually listen to Tom Petty every day! ❤️
Such a beautiful person making such beautiful music - we really don't get to see much of that anymore

One of the best live concerts I got to watch, Alan. Thanks for Tom.🌷
It's funny. When you start with breakdown you know it's gonna be a hell of a concert.
Thanks for posting. I'm amazed the lead guitarist has been with him since 1970's

I was so excited when he started playing that song in this video, I love Highway Companion and I had never heard a live version!

Great show, but I think Tom seemed tired throughout the show.
I know Steve is not so laid back like Stan. But i liked it more
Why were those 4 cut out?

I can't stand Steve's drumming especially in the intro
