This was the tour I first saw Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Seems like yesterday. It was in May 1995 at Oak Mountain in Pelham,AL and then in October in Tuscaloosa. 95 was alright :)
OMFG! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for ripping this from your (???) tape,. Somehow I never got to see this amazing band play live. I don't know if it was fate or whatever but thank you again for ripping and posting this show!!!!
Oh man. So great. Steve Ferrone plays with a pocket as deep as the grand canyon. He grooves like Gadd, Porcaro and Vega. A master of groove and Mike and Tom knew it. This band has no equal
Oh yeah! I was a die hard stones fan who loves any good music but these heartbreakers are such a great tight band and Tom’s and Mike’s song took off what the Beatles did before.
I 'heard' him in concert at the Bayfront Civic Center...they say 1981...but I'm pretty sure I was married and I wasn't married until 1983. Anyway, there is a restaurant connected to the Civic Center and I was there having lunch and listened to the concert. I'm not sure I paid anything...maybe a cover charge of a few bucks...I broke my neck in 1983 and have a bit of a fuzzy gap in those years.
Wow. So cool. I will date myself but my first concert was right after I got married in 1970. And it was Elton John at Yale New Haven in the stadium. So he was doing madman across the water and all that good stuff and it's amazing you never forget your first good concert. Or other things. Ha ha. Congrats Gail in central Florida. This man is a Gorgeous Genius🥰 Love His Tallent with Music & His Personality, Humor & Caring Heart are over the Top! I Am Speachless but one thing I know is: Tom Pettys Fans ALL FEEL THE SAME !!! We Miss You Tom & Thank You for the Many Many Gifts you comprised that we still haven't heard yet. Rest In Peace🙏☮
Funny, you hit the nail right on the head, Petty fans are a different breed. You can't love Led Zeppelin like you love Tom Petty because he's all heart and soul. You feel like he's family, the words touch and inspire that much. He was the only "celebrity" whose passing I deeply mourned, and still do to this day. I took a personal interest in his life, even hoped he would quit smoking so he would be with us longer, but in the end God has his plan and that's life. Gone but never forgotten, my favorite of all time and I know that I'm not alone.
One Thing I Like about Tom Petty is That at Every Show He Persist to Talk to His Audience,,,And That’s Really Cool,,,He Makes You Feel Like You Matter To,,Peace Tom Where Ever You May Be,,,, Heartbreakers Are a Cool Group
On ne t'oubliera jamais Tom. Merci pour tout. Reposes en paix avec tes amis rockeurs ( Georges Harrison, Roy Orbison), pour ne citer qu'eux et tous les autres. MERCI
www.pinterest.com/pin/362258363773516948/ Good eye Lorraine; not many pick up on that. I, however, was married to a 3/4 Native American (half Cherokee on the mother's side) and my foster brother was full Cherokee...so I spotted that as well. You forgot the hair texture though...Cherokee all the way. Because his mother was a Native; his dad had to flee from Georgia to Florida, because I gess that was a no-no then. Now there's transgenders, my how the world has changed. I think his mother was half Cherokee and half Seminole...so Tom is 1/4 of each; so still, half Native American...which is why if you Google 'what nationality is Tom Petty', it comes up 'American'.
@@morgancalvi6675 I need to correct you on a point. It was his paternal grandmother that was Cherokee, not his mother. He got his blond hair from the maternal side of the family.
Well I'm not into Civil War officers but his hair looks fine. That's not what I thought it looked like. I was thinking more like a country singer that was trying to look hip five years ago & slicked his hair back some. Ha ha. And then out would come the twang. And it was just really interesting. But he's an adorable cool dude for sure he was...
I first heard Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers going to a summer basketball game in Roxborough. It was a cassette of Damn the Torpedoes. I was in front seat, Coach was driving. I asked, "Who is this, Coach?" He said, "This is Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers." That was in 1980. I have been a fan since.
Hearing and seeing this now after weed is legal in Illinois...beautiful performance of Mary Janes Last Dance. It's like they were playing in another dimension where prohibition never happened and this story is playing out like any bar (with alcohol) has played out in our reality before weed was legal.
We lost him to early for no good reason accidentally on his part because he wanted to finish his farewell tour with a broken hip so he took them damn pain pills laced with fentanyl.
I love petty had a chance to see him at summer fest in Milwaukee, and the ticket was given to someone else, so I missed out oh how I wish I had seen him
48.95,21.91SVK it had originally been proshot, he just doesn’t know by whom. He decided to post his ripped DVD, when he saw the concert being sold as a bootleg.
you can really tell the heroin use here ... tom and howie look like absolute shit. but they still sound great which is surprising :P gotta love it. i can't help but wonder if tom had not gone through that phase if he wouldn't have looked so old so fast, like by 2005 he looked far older than even this. just 10 years sheesh. love ya tom and the HB!
Beg to differ -- on Howie you can see it taking over, but I think Tom looks magnificent and from what I hear doesn't miss a line or beat. Tom's deal with heroin was a couple years after 1995 from what I know anyway.

The World misses you Tom Petty.
I believe this concert was filmed in relation with the Wildflowers documentary 400 days, very cool!
Correct. It isn't a bootleg with all those camera angles.
Oh yeah, I was there.
Mike Campbell-a master.
Indeed he is one of the Greatest Guitar players on the Planet!
Since the passing of Tom, Mike has his own band called ''The Dirty Knobs''.
@@josephcuccio7822 does he have anything we can look up?

*EXCELLENT!* Thank you Sooooooo Very MUCH for sharing!!
You could always feel how Tom felt when Campbell went off on some awesome solo... So cool RIP.

So while I'm commenting on Tom's looks, I might as well mention his Cherokee nose and cheekbones and that 1000 watt smile!
He is Beautiful!

What do you mean, bad hairstyles? I think Tom looks awesome - and the beard - wow! Kind of the Civil War officer look.
HEY.....its not the hair that's makin that music!! and I agree....Tom DOES look awesome

In their PRIME!!!! OMG, soooooo good!! I wish I had been there...😭😭😭
They were in their prime from 1976-2017
@@mr.smithgnrsmith7808 hands down, they were in their "prime" the whole time they played together!

When did Howie's dog come out on the stage? Such a sweet dog, unfazed by all the noise.
I miss records and love those sounds of an old record playing.
Can’t believe Howie managed to live 8 years after this! RIP
Looks bad here
Well that's heroin for you, difficult to find the attractive side. 👻
RIP Howie
I MISS TOM I WILL ALWAYS PLAY HIS MUSIC!
Thank you Brother Tom!!
I was there. There was no second or third encore as you described.

What's wrong with the audio on this? Straining my ears n volume up all the way n I can barely hear🥴
I love petty had a chance to see him at summer fest in Milwaukee, and the ticket was given to someone else, so I missed out oh how I wish I had seen him
Wish the volume was better...
Mike Campbell was # 2 of top 10, Only Jimmy Page is # 1

My favorite, gone in 2017 unfortunately. He is playing for God.

Does anybody know who opened the show?
Pete Droge
Tom Petty

Stan was great, but Steve Ferrone really made the Heartbreakers such a better sounding live band.
Amen.
I think Dave would have blown the doors off. Steve is good
Smoking and drumming just like Bun E Carlos
The bootleg sounds way better, I know I'm a dick.
