This will give you a chuckle. I bought this house about two years ago and it came with the same Frigidaire dishwasher you have. I would clean the user-serviceable parts on a regular basis, but the dishes on the bottom rack wouldn't come clean. I tried different dishwashing detergents, to no avail. So, I would wash the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. Occasionally, I would get lazy and put the air fryer pan, coated with grease and cooked particles in the bottom rack and it wouldn't come clean -- despite the fact that the air fryer pan is nonstick. Then, I saw your video and realized that the blue spinner had been attached upside down presumably at the factory!!! I flipped the blue spinner around so that the chrome pieces were facing upwards and that seems to have solved the issue! Thank you so much for being brave and taking your machine apart and documenting it. You saved me potentially $1,000 as I tend to replace rather than repair because there's no guarantee that the repairperson will fix the issue... and I like to resolve issues quickly. Thanks again!
That is to funny 😂 lol Crazy that happened as one would never have expected it to be assembled wrong from the manufacturer… I am glad this was helpful for you! I also appreciate your support for my channel, with your help and others we are almost to 1k subscribers!
lol I really don’t think it’s supposed to be like that. The metal pieces I’d assume are for the heating element used for drying the dishes. Mines not like that
@ Yeah, I actually realized that after several washings and reversed it back. I live in an area with heavily mineralized water and I’ve found that if I put a cup of vinegar in the upper rack (or citric acid) it does wonders in helping the dishwasher perform well. Although that silver part doesn’t have anything to do with the heating element - the heating element is on the floor of the dishwasher basin and is a circular tube. And it gets hot if I use any of the sanitizing or heat dry functions which I try to avoid to save on energy.
This worked for me, thank you for making this video. I searched for weeks and we even installed a new water inlet valve. THIS ended up being the problem, there was a small silver metal piece stuck in there. It was actually the Frigidaire label, that had fallen off and got under there. This is probably something that usually happens, but is rarely spoken about and was not on anything I read or found. Our dishwasher is now working and spraying water, thanks again!
Just fixed my dishwasher afterr watching this video. Had a similar problem where a piece of a wooden chopstick was in that same area. Once i removed it and reassembled the parts, its working fine again. Thanks!
This video was super helpful! I couldn’t find a sprayer bottle but managed to get the Garden hose in the house and use that to with a low pressure nozzle to flush out whatever is blocking the top rack spray and sure enough that worked
Thanks!!! I took out all the pieces but there wasn’t anything in there but after I put everything back it worked.. I was ready to take the brand new dishwasher to the dumpster
You da man! Thank you! Mine had crud around that ball valve that prevented it from moving. FYI: That ball is a passive valve that determines the water flow to either the top or bottom sprayer. The direction of the motor changes the direction of the water, which in turn determines which way the ball moves to close off the water flow.
FYI, you installed the blue 'orbit arm' incorrectly (upside down)... the metal is supposed to face down to protect the plastic from the heating element, and the nozzles are on the other side, so you have them pointing down in this video. ;-) Thanks for the tip on the check-ball.
Just the video I needed! By the way, there is a goober in your upper spray arm on the outside hole. I have nearly that same unit and my upper arms [There is another spray arm on the very top that I just discovered after 3 years - very hard to see] do not seem to spin at all. Now I read that they alternate to keep noise down [ And you mentioned it] , but for the life of me I cant figure out how that is accomplished. The ball seems to shut off the flow to the upper arms - how does it open up? Total mystery and I am a mechanic. 2 speed pump motor that blows the ball out of the way on high? Very unusual bit of engineering. Might have to call Frigidaire...
Yes I tried to open that one tiny hole up and it just fell back in lol 😂 But ya that really is a mystery! But if it’s not broken why mess with it… So I choose to leave it alone! I appreciate you supporting my channel and I’m glad this video helped 😁
@@CravingSolutions When motor speed is slow, the upper hose water pressure back to the ball up to the bottom spinner. When than motor speeds up ball stays on there, and water goes up to the middle arm. Water spray at different time
I'm using ifb dishwasher Neptune vx.last night my husband put a tall utensil and today morning the upper arm doesn't rotate at all...though water is coming through the arm holes bt no rotation...vessels are dirty can anyone help pls....don't want to buy a new dishwasher
I apologize for missing your comment! When this happens, usually something is clogging the water pressure, as that's what spins the arms. Try to dismantle the arm and see if there is any water coming out from the arms when you just pour water into it. Also try to see if water is coming out where to arm connects. Thank you for commenting and supporting my channel! With your help, we can reach 1,000 subscribers! :)
I wish you had shown the viewers like me how you removed the upper spray arm. Of course we saw how you put it back but with folks like me, often putting it back is much easier once you had removed something. Your video would have had a far greater value with that (absent) demonstration.
Hi Raji, As I mentioned in the video all i did was pull down on it and it came out. That’s all I had to do, I didn’t want to risk putting it back and taking it out to many times in case something breaks.
Not yet; I sprained my wrist while gardening. I did find some gunk stuck in one of the holes. I cleaned it a bit, and decided to run the load already in the DW (after rearranging the bottom rack to ensure nothing was blocking the dispenser). This wash is currently going on. I am using vinegar (to remove any other unseen gunk). If this works then, no need to remove the spray arm. If not, then Plan B is to remove it.
@@RajiTripathi ok, please keep me posted. Also keep in mind that my true issue was that the water wasn’t getting to the spray arm. So this could be your issue as well.

Fabulous! Just pulled the middle arm off like you did and broke the damn thing!
I'm sorry that happened to you. Yours was most likely very worn out. It's a snap mechanism and pulling it out was the only way to remove it.
Neither of the arms where spinning on mine, took it apart nothing was in their, after putting it back together it worked 😳😁. Thanks!!

There's another comment in here saying they flipped it over from the way the factory did it and now it works haha
When do we get the video of you discovering the bottom wash arm is upside down. The metal plates are for heat protection from the heating coil below.
Pretty sure the ball works as a backflow preventer to keep the after from flowing back down once pressure to the arms stop.
I understand that now, but just didn’t at the time 😅

What is very strange about your issue is if that stick stopped the impeller, you would not have ANY flow top or bottom... was the bottom arm spraying?
I believe we did, things on bottom were getting clean.. I’m not an appliance specialist or anything I just know this is what fixed it for me..
This worked!!!! Thank you!!! 🎉
