I had the honor of seeing him perform in front of a full house about a year before he passed. He lost some of his timing, he was slurring some of the lines, told most of his older jokes. When he finished we all gave him a roaring standing ovation for about 5 minutes chanting "Rodney!!" He tried not to cry. We love you Mr. Dangerfield!! Here is the respect you always deserved. Had no idea that he appeared on the Jackie Gleason show ! I watched his show faithfully each Sunday night. Both of these comedians were all class all the way ! I watched all the movies they were in and they still make me laugh ! Thanks for posting these on UA-cam ! Such sweet memories.
Two guys that are great examples of IMHO something I don’t see too much of anymore - true entertainers, a couple of self made, intelligent celebrities. Glad I can say I remember stuff like this.
Theses two are really funny 💯💯😉😁🤣😂🤣😂!! Rodney and Jackie will be miss a lot today , RIP😪😥👍👍👍 ! Great actors in movies and very funny comedians ! We will miss you both !!
never thought of looking Jackie Gleason up, but now I am on it! Going to research ALL the stuff we Used to watch! And the only reason was to look up Jackie and others is Watching Old Johnny Carson! New ones, have NO idea What FUNNY IS!
Great! One of his best stand up routines. And Jackie Gleason a great comic and actor in his own right. One thing missing, Rodney's red tie. Was in my late teens when this was made, and when these two men were made the molds were broken.
Stephen Roby Gleason was a great dramatic actor and a decent composer, too. He broadcast the show live from Miami when all live prime time shows came out of LA or NY because he was The Great One so the network set it up - a big deal when live television was transmitted over many parallel and expensive AT&T lines. His ratings were great so the network made plenty of money.
I was born at the end of the 60's so too young to really know, but I can remember a few actors who I would see that I would stop and take the time to watch. Gleason, Stewart, McQueen to name a few. It was like they had this power to pull you into their story wanting more. Then seeing Rodney when he showcased new comic's was mind opening giving me a new love of Comedy.
Last year I went to the thrift store and found a bunch of Jackie Gleason albums for like $2 each. Fantastic music, so lush and beautiful. My lovely wife was astonished to learn it was arranged and conducted by Ralph Kramden.
I remember Jackie Gleason being interviewed years ago and he was asked if he`ll be in Heaven. He replied `only by the grace of God`. I thought he was a great entertainer.
"Another girl was admiring my face." "So I asked why are you staring at me? Girl: "Forgive me for staring, but I'm studying astronomy, and your face resembles the surface of the moon."
Thank God I grew up when I didn't I'm 65 years old I remember watching Jackie Gleason with Rodney Dangerfield on the show thank God they were great wish they were still here

he didnt stop moving he couldnt relax for one second thats like me even when im as still as i can be somthings moving even if its just my toes , if i stop moving so does my thinking, i dont get no respect i was at the doctors the other day i had to fill out some forms then the lady at the desk gave me a dirty look i said what? she said where it says sex you wrote yes please ,
Pure NY.
Is the constant touching of his tie part of his routine? I mean he unnecessarily keeps touching it to make like he is repositioning it. Every clip of his has these touches.
@@waryaawariiri1812 - yes, the voice, cadence, fidgeting and tie arranging is all part of the shtick.
How does he keep coming up with new jokes; and how does he remember them, and spit them out without missing a beat? His timing is spot on.
Mark of a true talent..he killed it and kept it clean the whole time.
Censored
J H, you should watch his performance in Natural Born Killers.
@yafargo thanks we needed a downer after that .:-)
The whole time on national television.
"That's not a tiger cub, that's a fucking kitten!" - Rodney Dangerfield
I thought this was on NBC, you can not swear during Prime Time. His act was extremely blue. He had books that he released of only dirty jokes.
I love Rodney Dangerfield and Jackie Gleason!!!! The best comedians!!! I really miss them!!!
Hello 👋 Reba
Miss you Rodney, thanks for the laughs😀👍
I never thought that one day all these people such as Rodney and Jackie would be gone and just distant memories.
"My wife, I tell ya...my wife she used to be scared of the dark...then she saw me naked. Now she's scared of the light." Ba ha ha
My favorite too.
😂🤣😆
funny lol
LMFAO 😂😂😂😂😂
🤣🤣
He looks young compared to seeing him in the 80's. As a kid, I used too LOVE this dude, still do. That last joke about stretching a Dollar was Fire!!!! 💵💸💰🔥😺😸😹
Well this was 1970 😜
Love Rodney and Jackie two great talented funny guys gone too soon🇨🇦🇨🇦😁
Two of the greatest!!
I'm sure they making alot of laughs in heaven🙏✝️
R.I.P. RODNEY AND JACKIE
Had no idea that he appeared on the Jackie Gleason show ! I watched his show faithfully each Sunday night. Both of these comedians were all class all the way ! I watched all the movies they were in and they still make me laugh ! Thanks for posting these on UA-cam ! Such sweet memories.
Rodney just walking on stage makes me laugh his little shuffle that he does so much talent on stage Thanks for posting :-)
Same here, even the great one, Jackie Gleason was smiling and laughing just the way he walked out from behind the curtain. Rodney is incredible.
I used to watch this show every weekend with my grandfather. What a great Dangerfield routine!!!!
Everybody knows this classic Rodney Dangerfield oneliner,I took my wife to the dog show and she won!..He's the best oneliner ever, hands down!
Thank you so much for this!! I thought I had seen every recorded Rodney routine...I never saw this one.
Me too.
Me three... thank you OP.
never thought of looking Jackie Gleason up, but now I am on it! Going to research ALL the stuff we Used to watch!
And the only reason was to look up Jackie and others is Watching Old Johnny Carson! New ones, have NO idea What FUNNY IS!
Rodney, John Candy and other comedians who've passed I miss. Truly funny Guys.
Great! One of his best stand up routines. And Jackie Gleason a great comic and actor in his own right. One thing missing, Rodney's red tie. Was in my late teens when this was made, and when these two men were made the molds were broken.
Only comedian that can crack me up, without dropping F-bombs.
What a wonderful piece of history. Thanks for sharing
I loved both of these classy comedians. Thanks to UA-cam we can see them again whenever we want.
Not only do I miss Dangerfield who's easily one of my favorite comedians of all time but I surely miss comedy like this too.
His funniest one was when he asked if he could go ice skating as a kid. The response was, "Wait till it gets warmer."
Two great funny men. Rodney untouchable stand up master missed dearly. Jackie comedy actor loved by all RIP Gentlemen..
Both legends now the bandit god must be having a great time RIP boys.
Stephen Roby Agree.
I'm here in 2021 because I can't get enough of the late, great, Rodney Dangerfield. RIP Rodney. The world misses you.
I don't laugh that easy but this made me lol a few times. When you're good, you're good. Thanks RD.
I remember Jackie Gleason being interviewed years ago and he was asked if he`ll be in Heaven. He replied `only by the grace of God`. I thought he was a great entertainer.
Pay T.V. killed it all. Rodney was a one of a kind, he was up there with the greats. R.I.P.
Most of these greats where in Vaudeville or their mentors were in Vaudeville. Has nothing to do with pay TV.
Dangerfield was a genius.
RIP.
Your right about that. Pay per view killed boxing as well back in Tyson's day
Ali had pay per view fights. Then that following weekend Wide World of Sports would show the fight. So we at least got to see the fight.
@@ilovetomorrow i did not know that. A little before my time
@@matthewlewis9996, it was before cable. You'd buy tickets and go to an Arena to watch it on a movie screen.
For my money, Rodney was the greatest stand up comedian of all time.... Finally, some respect.
I had so much acne in high school, that I once fell asleep in the library and woke up to a blind girl trying to read my face -----Legend.
Nerdimus Maximus
Yeah no one else heard him say that. Glad you let us know what he said
Hahahahaha - Rodney was comedy gold XD
@@draggin-up9911 I've actually heard Dangerfield say that bit. Why are you being so hateful?
Hahahahaha
"Another girl was admiring my face." "So I asked why are you staring at me?
Girl: "Forgive me for staring, but I'm studying astronomy, and your face resembles the surface
of the moon."
Hands down, one of the best to ever do comedy.
Great crowd, this is the calmest I've ever seen Rodney be while performing stand up
Rodney was great,my favorite movie was Back to School, I'm glad I got to enjoy all his work.
