- We hit up our freinds at the local iPull-uPull and asked if we could do a "Will It Run" video on a sweet K10 they have in their showroom! They helped us out so here we go, we have no history on the unit just that it was bought at auction, she has clearly been sitting for a long time but we can't say how long. Check it out, it's short............ but spoiler alert, she’s seized but after some work….she runs!! Unstick a seized motor and more lane Dad jokes from CJ….let’s go!
The year is 2024. I just acquired a 1969 mustang coupe. I say I just acquired it but I actually bought it last year. It's been in storage in Waco Texas. I finally paid $2340 bucks to have her delivered to me here in Amarillo Texas. She's a rust bucket and her motor was locked tight! I pulled all the spark plugs and filled each cylinder with marvel mystery oil. Hit the crank bolt with my impact wrench. 500 pounds torque but to no avail. Instead I used my 1/2" drive socket wrench with a 13/16 socket and a cheater bar and lo and behold she broke loose! Everything was seized on her. The alternator, the water pump, and the power steering pump. All frozen. I pulled everything off the front. I had keys made for the ignition and she turns over now from the key which she couldn't do before the marvel mystery oil treatment. You know how the saying goes that it's alway one bolt that is stuck? Well. That was true of one bolt on the water pump. Impact wrench, cheater bar and a breaker bar, a hammer and a sawzall and it wouldn't budge! Finally i found an old propane bottle in my shed and heated the crud out of that bolt and it finally broke loose! It only took 3 hours. But it finally let go and i pulled that seized water pump off. Anyway, my plan is to put fresh plugs in her and new wires to see if she'll fire up. The plugs really didnt look all that bad. So maybe I'll get lucky again. Either way, I'll be rebuilding the original 302, welding floorpans replacing a fender and a door for sure and addressing some areas of rust but I'm absolutely certain that after some time and money, she will ride again. Theres a lot going on with this car like someone tried to put an automatic transmission in it but there is an existing clutch pedal that they tucked underneath the carpet! Why?! So she will be getting a manual transmission installed again along with an airbox that for some reason was deleted! Again, WHY?! I know it's texas but it does get cold here and a defroster is needed all the way down to Galveston! Lots of work ahead but I'm pumped and ready for the challenge! Bring it on!
That sounds awesome!! I’ve had a few 69-70 Mustangs!! Tell me you have a UA-cam channel so
I can see this thing!! I want to follow along!!

Yes. I do have a youtube channel. In it, I have a 2007 mustang that was struck head on with a tornado. That's right. An f2 tornado. It was my sister's car but it only had 50,000 miles on it so I bought it from her and replace a roof and all of the glass and rear view mirrors, grill, both headlights, both foglights and that's the car I drive today. She now has 93,000 miles and still runs great! I will be posting some of the work on this car when I start doing some of the substantial repairs like floor pans, engine rebuild and restoration of the manual tranny. Also the heater box . Lots of work to do but it should be lots of fun and fairly rewarding too!
@@grumerguy I already subscribed and look forward to seeing this unfold!!
