- Yesterday is one of my most cherished Beatles songs - and also a song I was completely 100% wrong about how to play on the guitar... until (no joke...) Yesterday (Boooooooo).

Great one Ryan! Yesterday is a complicated song and you explained it wonderfully. 👏🏻
thank you David! every song has many things to teach us.
This killer Ryan. Thank you!
welcome buddy!
Love that guitar sounds great !
borrowed it from a friend bc elizabeth broke a string and I was too lazy :)
Hey nice new guitar addition! Fun break down.
it's my neighbor's guitar. and by neighbor i mean our friends who sold their house in WA and drove across the country in their motorhome to live in our backyard while they shop for a home.
you're welcome!
thank you!
Hey Ryan could you do a lesson on saint joe on the school bus- Marcy playground thank you for your lessons you’re great
thanks for the idea harley :)
I play this is in D with capo on 3td fret or sometimes no capo when I pretend to sing haha
7/1/22. It’s nice the way you broke this down. Didn’t Paul McCartney say he couldn’t read or write music? So how does he write something like this? Maybe McCartney thinks of doing a walk down in his head, and just starts playing around with different fingerings with the open strings, paying attention to that one key note that he needs , and where best to play it. How much did George Martin help the Beatles with their music theory on songs? Who knows? And McCartney is a little cagey about where his ideas come from. One guy on UA-cam talks about where the Beatles stole ideas for their songs and shows examples. But here’s a big key to the Beatles success: Aleister Crowley on the cover of Sergeant Pepper’s.... Daniel Johnston does a good job singing “Yesterday” on UA-cam. Take care, Ryan.
not being able to read or write music doesn't mean someone can't do music skillfully - rather that they don't know what to call stuff :)
I got so lost in this that I had to ask for directions
you're a bigger man than I
A song I've had trouble understanding for maybe a year and you lay it out perfectly. Thank you! P.S. have you heard Julien Baker's cover of fell on black days? she does something totally unique with the guitar parts and I think you'd get a kick out of analyzing them lol
thanks for the tip checking it out now!
"Inside out D". 😆😆😆These names always remind me of Phoebe. Bearclaw, Turkey leg, aaand Old lady.
:)
Do you think you could do “Shelf in the Room” by Days of The New
good idea
Yesterday I didn't know how to play this song, today I do. Oh and I am a Yesterday denier. I've never seen yesterday so therefore it doesn't exist.
ha!
Ryan everytime he hears chromatic notes in a song:
This is a masterpiece!
And my new favorite song!
not untrue...
I've got the strongest feeling of Deja Vu right now.. . .
teehee
Chromatic walks are the greatest walks, along with other walks that are likewise the greatest walks :)
(The collective noun for a group of parrots is 'a pandemonium')
i would ask what a group of turtles is, but to my knowledge turtles don't travel in groups. which is a shame, they are missing out on group pricing for tours.
This is the way! I believe you have a bit of banana in your beard!? Grrr ;)
:) grrrrr
Its just not the same without the Taylor 😀
elizabeth the taylor broke a string. That's my neighbor's guitar. Talk about lazy...
