Another great demonstration. Lauren explains and visualise the keys parts needed to play this song. She is a wonderful teacher for young and old. She take you step by step for each part of the song.
Although I do not like fingerpicking bcz I can't concentrate on moving the right finger at the right time on the right string. But since this is a video from Lauren who's the most awesome and lovable lady I know on UA-cam, it's my obligation to like and comment on the video. I love you Lauren!
Thank you very much for this. I have wanted to learn this for years, but it seemed like such difficult rhythm and picking. You embraced the fact that most people will never play it exactly like it is on the record, and it doesn't matter. You broke it down into very simple yet musically appealing picking patterns, and demonstrated the walk downs and chord changes beautifully. I'm an intermediate hobbyist, on and off for 20 years. I've tried several times to learn this one, but could just never master the picking and rhythm. Watching your video I learned it in about an hour, well enough that i could play it for friends and not be embarrassed, even singing it. Thank you, Thank you Thank you. You have a new subscriber.
Thank you so much for your tenacity when it comes to unleashing your honed skills with guitar theory. Many Blessings to you and your loved ones this upcoming Thanksgiving. Music is essential to good order in the world.🙏
And originally when both Paul and George recorded this song, Paul played it in G and George played it in F. Sounds pretty good! Later - Paul played it solo.
Hi I just discovered you and love the way you teach. Non pretentious and genuine. It would help though at least for me if you did a run through of the song before teaching it and then get into the breakdown that you do so well. While that would be helpful for me, it is almost mandatory for my grandson who is 9 and learning, to hear the songs first since he has not been exposed to most of them. ❤
Hi Ms. Bateman, I'm really glad that I stumbled upon your UA-cam channel, and I hope to receive an answer to my question. As a beginner on the guitar, should I start learning with fingerpicking or using a pick? Thank you so much!
Question, 1,I bought a yahama F series, So I went to get new picks for beginners the man ask what I was playing on and I told him and he said I had bought a TOY, is the guitar I bought a Toy????? It has not had to be tuned for 3 months now,and I practice everyday for about 2 hours.
Lauren. Correction from 13:36 to 13:44 your demonstration shows Thumb and Plucking 3 times for the A/D7 and for the D7, but the tab shows Thumb, Pluck, Thumb, Pluck for each pf these chords.
Getting into dynamics, percussion and other aspects of playing become important at the advanced level. Playing with others is a huge step in the right direction.
Wouldn't it be great if all the teachers out there would go nice and slow making it so much easier for us beginners to learn. One step at a time is how you learn your songs. Go slow and then you'll know.
Been playing just a few chords and singing at a campfire for many years. Sometimes not at all when there’s no campfire. Recently got a classical guitar and a solo finger style book. I’ve been having a blast! Things sound so beautiful I’m sometimes amazed that I did these beautiful sounds. Definitely worth it! Never give up, guitar playing is a journey, the road is destination, we’re all just on different parts of the road :)
Thanks!
No problem!

Julla, thanks. You can always use the strumming pattern I suggest in the video.
You flexed. I don't even use drop D tuning. But, I was glued to the screen and I feel smarter than I was 20 minutes ago.
I'll take that as a win!!!
Another ezcellent lesson Lauren. Thank you.
Thanks so much Darren
What a great lesson! Thanks Lauren!😃
You got it.

Do you ever use three notes per string versus caged system?
That's how I learned. I know nothing about CAGED honestly.
Hi Ms. Bateman, I'm really glad that I stumbled upon your UA-cam channel, and I hope to receive an answer to my question. As a beginner on the guitar, should I start learning with fingerpicking or using a pick? Thank you so much!
I would recommend a pick first.
Question, 1,I bought a yahama F series, So I went to get new picks for beginners the man ask what I was playing on and I told him and he said I had bought a TOY, is the guitar I bought a Toy????? It has not had to be tuned for 3 months now,and I practice everyday for about 2 hours.
It's not a toy. I've seen students play on toys. It's just an entry level guitar.
@Lauren Bateman should I look for something better? Not going out of tune does bother me a little. I'm working on strum patterns, any advice? Thanks
Lauren. Correction from 13:36 to 13:44 your demonstration shows Thumb and Plucking 3 times for the A/D7 and for the D7, but the tab shows Thumb, Pluck, Thumb, Pluck for each pf these chords.
Great catch! Thank you very much. Will keep this is mind :D
Hey Lauren what do i do after reaching intermediate lvl? It kinda feel pointless to just memorize chord

Im a picker do this will be fun. Again thank you for taking time to teach us...im Squirrel 🐿️
Thanks for watching!
Hi Lauren, I hope all is well in boston. Can you do this song, PLZ. Proclaimers 500 Miles
Oh that's a great song!
instead of tuning down could i use a capo?
Unfortunately in this case it’s a bit more complicated than that
Wouldn't it be great if all the teachers out there would go nice and slow making it so much easier for us beginners to learn. One step at a time is how you learn your songs. Go slow and then you'll know.
Slow is the best way to learn.
I like your ninja turtles Lauren 😁
Thanks!

Si hablaras menos e instruyeras mas fuera muchi mejor. Parecer que estuviera narrando un juego en vez de enseñar
The best students listen before speaking
you are so great i love you
Aww thanks!
