Amazing ! I just wanted to take a moment to say how amazing your video was! I was really impressed with the quality of the footage, the editing, and the overall presentation. You did a great job of explaining the topic in a clear and concise way, and I learned a lot from watching your video. I also really appreciated the way you made the video engaging and entertaining. You kept my attention throughout the entire video, and I never felt bored or lost. I would definitely recommend your video to anyone who is interested in learning more about the video.
Some of the brands like Breitling you get 15 ~ 25% discount at your AD, so the value retention in respect to retail seems bad but it actually not that bad compared to the price after AD discount.
This channel needs 20x the followers. There's no crap filler at all. Though idk how you can say the speedmaster that loses almost 30% of its value can be considered the best value for money when you could get that watch for free by acquiring the snoopy and selling it.
@@WatchChartswelcome to the club!🎉 Love the hesalite it's so utilitarian! Not blingy, not trying to be jewelry. Alway subtle and proper yet very respectable and relevant. Love it! Best regards!
Does this analysis pull secondary market data for unused NOS stock only? Wouldn't that be the only way to factor out watches with wear to really isolate depreciation?
So well done! Love to see the same type of video on green dial watches from $500 to $20,000 segmented by dive, dress, and every day wearers. Are green dials here to stay or just a fad?
@@dannysimenauer5745 frankly those were blown out of proportion by UA-camr haters. As a % that was negligible...all my friends who have them haven't had issues. And also many on UA-cam unfortunately cannot be trusted as well. Some out there had their pieces damaged by their own negligence and would rant trying to get some sort of refund or exchange by trying to create a fuss. Those are a dime a dozen nowadays. Especially among western consumers (sorry but this is true) .
A mega celebrity would be wise to buy all the C tier then start wearing one. Drive up the value then sell everything. Many of those C tier watches are vastly superior to the watches that hyped into the S tier.
For the first time. I'm a little disappointed in one of your comments. Don't worry I'm still a subscriber I personal like the Speedster with Sapphire crystal.
We focused as much as possible on watches where the chronograph is the only complication (much as I would love to own the new pink gold version of this excellent watch with the murdered out dial). You can find data on the steel version here: watchcharts.com/watch_model/17409-jaeger-lecoultre-master-control-chronograph-calendar-4138420/overview
This is a great channel. Sensible with no hyperbole.
@timcroft109 I totally agree!
Please Keep Releasing These!!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing !

You need to be clear on the condition and year of the watch on the secondary market. New unworn? Only then it’s an Apples to Apples comparison
How about IWC pilot chronographs 😂
I own the datograph in rose gold, and I’m loving every second of it. I buy what I love ❤️
How can I get this list on the excel spreadsheet you showed. Thanks

Good stuff, but are some of the watches you compared limited releases? If so, some may naturally hold a higher resale?
I’ve owned 7 Speedy’s and the current 3861 Sapphire Speedy IMO is by far the best. Also, the Ed White went into the wrong category. Cheers
The Ed White trades at a +29% premium over retail, which places it in the A tier. Personally I'm a die-hard member of Team Hesalite :)

Excellent analysis...keep them coming
Great! GMT/World Timer next? (Please longer shots of the B roll of the watch enlarged with the data longer).
Thanks for the feedback, we'll get to it soon!
Excellent compilation. Thank you!
Fantastic work. It might be hard to get suffix data on these but how about a ranking of independent brands?
Again, I would suggest adding the IWC 3716.
Some watches may not performanced well in the secondary market, but it didn't mean that they're nor great, classic watches!
Where is the Longines Avigation Big Eye ?!! Why isn't it mentioned ???
What about the new Mónaco “dark lord” . I bought one and thinking on sell it .
Great video , thanks for your comments
Good info. Considering how popular the chrono genre is the fall in value can be substantial if you began by paying full retail.
Appreciate the details and unbiased content

Agree. It is unclear
Why no portuguese?
I would love to see Panerai's current models with this comparison. Especially the 40mm and 42mm models.
Love these videos!
value retention = second hand price in good condition
change "current retail" to "retail price wo/ link sell"
thank you for your video
Thanks again , great update...
Great information

I bought a Breitling Premier B01 for $5500 brand new, box and papers. I am not selling the watch, but it is nice to know I have not lost money.
If you keep looking at watches just for their value you are no real enthusiast..
Really what about Jaeger-LeCoultre and Pnerai chronographs ???
excellent!
missing furlan marri mr grey, Farro, ect
Who would have thought the cheapest watch would hold value.
Yup and you can see those rabid rival brand fanboys tearing into it, only listening to their own voices.they think they are the majority
Especially with the quality issues in the first release. Ties in to space seem to be on collectors’ lists!

Tags are basically the BMW of value retention.
Percentage wise? But $$$ loss is what matters. Ouch! Guess we should never sell what we buy.
@@LouisMorales-zx3jm All I'm saying is that, like BMW, Tag Heuer watches depreciate like crazy.

Add a few Longines on the list. They have “a bit” of history with chronographs 😉

Does anyone on planet earth know someone who owns a Bvlgari watch?
So much for the moonswatch naysayers
Lame, didn't even include the JLC Master Control Chronograph Calander.

Apple to apples for data modeling.
