I love seeing different preservation methods and also what you cook with your harvest A little harvesting and how you deal with the coming winter in your garden would be great too But everything in your pace ❤
First let me say, I love your channel. You are such a great inspiration. I really enjoy both types of videos but I tend to enjoy the harvest more. With all the hard work you do all the time, I think whatever you post is fine with me.
Hey 👋👋 Heather Nana's here n I jus ❤visiting with you no matter what youre doin 😅😂❗ always full of information 💁 that helps us become self sustainable in some way or beautiful things to 👀🏵❗... Like the Golden Hour n goats playing or Amish Countryside n I enjoy it all 😇💯❗... Bunches of 💞💖💞 love 😘
Golden hour with the goats is the BEST! Will have to add in some of that to the end of the preservation videos this week as long as it isn't raining! Supposed to keep raining for a few days!
I know harvesting is busier than spring. So many more steps to get things put up before they spoil. Don't over do yourself to post vlogs. Im sure I don't have to tell you this but we will still be here when things begin to be all wrapped up. Putting things in the freezer is the easiest thing of all the methods. The process of pickling and just canning (like any of these steps are easy) video when you can. It will save and we will still be here. I will stop rambling now. Awesome vlog Heather ❣ God bless and keep you and your family ❣🙏❣
Thank you so much!! I'm happy to video it, I'll be doing things anyway ! ♥ I am trying NOT to add things to the freezer since we are in meat harvest season and a lot of the meat we process goes in the freezer at this time of year ♥ Canning, drying, fermenting projects galore!!
Yes we can meat all the time! Most often I reach for the canned rabbit (it's just salted) and Add mayo and relish to make a "rabbit salad" as opposed to chicken salad. :)
I am a sucker for garden chores and harvests, I am very interested to see how you preserve the bountiful harvest and getting the homestead ready for the freeze.
Oh Heather, I absolutely love all your kidletts!! For me, I love to see your preservation techniques, but I also like to see you harvesting! I learn so much from you always!!
I would love to see how you preserve what you harvest this week! I looked at the weather last night and nearly had a panic attack haha! I still have things to clear out and haven't gotten my garlic in the ground! I'm NOT ready for winter lol!
Bring on the preservation!!😂 I'm excited to see what you have planned for the bountiful harvest! I do hate to see it drop that low and that quickly. I was born in late October 1967, I've been told we had a "big" snow when I was just a couple weeks old. Hopefully history won't repeat itself!😂 Thanks for sharing and stay safe!!
Can I be greedy and say YES to both (gardening and preserving) hahahaha. I love how you give us a bit of chat about the veggie/plant and then did the hi speed of some of the work. If I really have to choose for this week, I think I'd love to see how you preserve (or even turn into regular meals) some of these amazing veggies from your garden haul. Or maybe rotate if it's picking of the same type of veggie again if you mean long term. Show us sporadic season harvests (like if the veggie/fruit changes over season) and then mix it up with the cooking/preserving vs repeat of picking the same veggie. I honestly don't know, depends on your time and availability. I do know whatever you post I will watch and I love your content, haha. Love how some of the goats are "meh" to the tomatoes and some are gung ho for them and eat them so sweetly/cute. Pesky is adorable to me, she's like "just give me head/horn scratches pleaseeee". Haha. Sign me up for some of those yellow tomato seeds! 💚 💚
Those yellow tomatoes are SO good! They are always welcome here and I'm happy to save seeds and spread the love! I'll be doing both harvest and preserving content this week! ♥
I see a lot of comments requesting preservation videos and those are fun too but I MOST enjoy watching you being in your garden, seeing the diversity, your experiments, sucesses and fails too. I also love watching you with your goats (I have full size Nubians and yours with the startling blue eyes always look strange to me)
Good morning Heather. Have you ever put a little bit of oil in the pan and cook some tomatoes and a couple of hot peppers. Put some water in the pan and let it boil.put some melting cheese and let it melt. Fry up some eggs and pour it over your eggs. Warm up a tortilla and you have a nice easy breakfast. ❤❤❤
I am just not ready for this weather. Finishing up the garden in next few days. I want to get some carrots planted in a tub in the greenhouse. I heard that is a good veggie to grow in the greenhouse. We shall see! This is my experiment yr! You can pull the whole pepper plant and hang upside down and rest of peppers will ripen.
@@SageandStoneHomestead I haven’t tried it. Lots of research going on this yr for me. I have a friend who does it every yr. I would rather have flimsy as opposed to them dying from the weather tho. I have 4 I’m going to try it on. 3 cayenne and 1 tabasco plants. They are loaded and I don’t want to waste them.
Great harvest Heather. I like to see both please. I did see your temperature. WOW that is a drastic drop. It's like us here. We had 32C=89.6 to 19C=66F. Today are high was 22C=71.6F tomorrow it says we are having 30C=86F. Thank you so much for sharing. Love and Blessings to you all. ❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏 Doris, Penrith 🇦🇺🦘
I just dug sweet potatoes. Still have potatoes to dig. Some seed collection left. And, with other things going on in life, I am ready to be done. I love any of your videos and appreciate your informative and down to earth style. Thank you for sharing!
@@SageandStoneHomestead It's what got me here! I can keep working on preservation all year, even if things just change states, but I can only garden for a limited window. We actually have snow on the ground!
Ugh snow!! It will get here eventually too. I agree, a lot of preservation waits for winter. Simmering sauce and running the canner is a hot activity for summer!
I would love to see the range of preservation you use for this pre-freeze harvest. As you were going through the harvesting, I was thinking stuffed peppers, pickled green tomatoes, and fermented pepper sauce. But that bit where the goaties were nibbling the yellow tomatoes was just so wholesome and adorable. Was that Pesky who kept saying "no thank you" with her horns? LOL I get a few of those wheaten-colored girls confused, I guess...
I would love to see both express in the cucumelons as I am trying to grow them first time here in Australia Sydney...But today rainy and cold 🥶.. but been 34degress hot summer coming...❤❤❤❤❤❤
That is a beautiful haul! Thank you for sharing that with us Heather! I'd enjoy both the harvest And the preservation of your garden haul. You sound congested Heather... be praying for you to recuperate fully hun. Allergies are kicking our posteriors over here! Hahaha. We are going to have a major chill over here in these parts come Tuesday....a low of 39. I'm trying to think, but that's a bit cold ....so soon for this area... I have a question those yellow little cherry tomatoes that you're picking that you got from me Gardener are those also known as Barry's crazy Cherry tomatoes? Because I grew some of those or they look very similar to them that I grew three years back and when they are called Barry's crazy cherry tomatoes ...they are called that for a reason, because they are crazy producers and they are very wild. I did not tie them up or secure them like I typically would Tomatoes .. it just got away from me and I tell you what I have never seen such an explosion and on top of that they were the only tomatoes in all the Tomato varieties that I was growing that were not being touched by the worms. Coincidental??
Actually no! I bought some of Barry's crazy Cherry seeds this summer when someone (I think it may have been you) mentioned that I should try them! These ones were called (yellow currant tomato) on the package! I bought those and Tommy Toe tomatoes in the same year (Really small red ones) and these yellow ones have come back exponentially year after year!!
@@SageandStoneHomestead that's funny. There are so many wonderful varieties to try..... like I'm always telling my sister "so many seeds, and so little space hahaha.

Use an old sheet that you're not using her a blanket and stuff and cover them up then when you get up in the morning take them take them down but just keep them every year just make sure that they're dry and when you don't need them follow them up and they'll always be there for you that's what I used to do our King is coming back soon his name is Jesus Northern California 😊
