I love Sculptra! Only you need to have a very good 'sculptor' to inject it. Also, it involved a lot of work from myself, vigorously massaging my face for a week after each procedure which you don't do with regular fillers. Results were very gradual, but the effect stayed for 2 years on me, absolutely beautiful. This is one of those procedures where people won't tell you that you've done something to your face, because gradually you become more and more youthful
@@rainabosworthf393 really? With Sculptra? I know you don't massage fillers, but Sculptra is not technically a filler, it's a collagen stimulator and I was told massaging is super important so you don't develop 'bumps'. I've done this quite a while ago, so maybe there's no need to massage it, maybe Sculptra has different consistency or something..

@@rajanimdskincare there are some doctors on youtube that do microneedle it in. one does around the upper lip lines since you shouldn't inject there they say you can microneedle it in
Hi Dr Raj, love your videos and I’ve learned so much! I’m in a conundrum here where I’m 48 and had 4 vials of Sculptra but I’m less than 3 months out from my 1st procedure. My injector truly believes that the “cheeks are the foundation of the face” and thinks that filler would benefit me. I have really tried to avoid HA fillers and hope that Sculptra would help enough that I won’t need HA fillers. I have a lot of good fat pads and no jowling yet but my main concern is the lines going down either side of my neck under my chin (Cobra neck) starting. She thinks cheek filler will help me. She also said she’s not trying to give me cheeks but just support the ligament to stabilize the mid face. I wish I could feel confident that Sculptra will be my answer to the problem but she thinks it will only help slightly. Thoughts?

Another really helpful presentation, thanks so much! This was comparing Sculptra with HA fillers. Can you also discuss Sculptra versus biostimulators like Ellanse and Radiesse?
@@martina2615 +1 I know he mentioned not being a fan of Ellanse (just Ellanse or PCL in general?) , but they do have a product that lasts 4 years. Bellafill also promotes collagen stimulation. And hyaluronic acid as well, not as much as the others but if you get lip fillers it's said it'll promote collagen so even after it dissolves your skin is better than before or nothing at all. Can you rank these all? Like in 10 years I don't want to be wishing I used something else.
Dr when i get my under eye done there is still a huge trough above where filler gets injected. in good lighting like indoors it is not a big deal but outdoors where there is a lot of shawdows it just does not look good do u know what i mean?
Yes under eyes are tricky. ONe would need to assess but watch mu PlasmaEyes video. IN that way even the lid can be addressed. Sometimes the hollow is above the bone and thus fillers are not the best option.
Thanks for the always thorough and helpful information. Can't help but wonder what if any of all the procedures you've tested out yourself, to help keep you looking so youthful. Could be fascinating content if you ever care to kiss and tell.
Hey doc, one question I only think you can answer : sculptra works through inflammation, so the body builds collagen. But isn't inflammation for up to 24 months beneath the upper skin causing more aging?!?? Thanks so much ❤️ I wish I could reach you as my doc.
Doc, can you please talk about Sculptra and fillers in people with autoimmune conditions, like Sjogren’s and Hashimotos thyroiditis? Many people suffer with autoimmune conditions and they want to know the risks for fillers. Thank you!
@@rajanimdskincare can you do a video on considerations with Sculptra and autoimmune disease - when it might be dangerous, what might work better for certain situations (PRF etc.)? What are the cases where you do not offer it? What do you offer instead? That is a great myth and question. Go back 10 years and watch my videos. 7 years ago I had 2 sessions of sculptra in my cheeks and then no more. Results can be dramatic. The beauty is with sculptra if you want dramatic it is simple--add less water. But depth needs to be perfect for safety at that point to avoid nodules.
Great Video. Can u tell us how you do reconstitute Sculptra with PRF? Do you Mix lidocaine in there? Does that change the properties if the PRF and Do you have a time span from mixing it to injecting it? Thank you Dear Rajani. Cant wait to meet you at BTS.
Thhank you for your knowledge dr rajani! I was reading that if sculptra is injected to places like the nasalabiol fold, due to constant moving of that area, there maybe collagen beading. What are your thoughts?
Where I am is really limited. Nobody uses Sculptra here. I can’t find anyone who does hand rejuvenation with filler, only skin boosters which don’t replace my hand volume. I just had my chin augmented few days ago, Dr, I like the result but very very upset cos she caused a huge bruise about 3cm wide and a smaller one too. Long weekend is coming and all my schedule is disrupted. I put it to poor skills cos she could have done better stemming the bleeding. I am well aware that bruising is common but not this bad! Even colour correctors and concealers I bought can’t cover fully. Gonna change provider. As one aesthetician says, bruise them and lose them.
This video helped me a lot. Since everyone's anatomy is slightly different, I was wondering how they could figure out where the vasculature is. Thanks.
I wish I could afford it ! It’s way more expensive than fillers so I’m thinking should I just wait to save up for sculptra, or just in the mean time use fillers 🥺
Dr Rajani many thanks for this informative video.Does the same applies for hyperdiluted radiesse as well meaning that it’s safer from dermalfillers?can it also be used for volumizing the temple area?than you 😄
The radiesse syringe itself does not produce suction so if diluted enough and placed in a different syringe yes. But it does not last as long as sculptra and thus one needs more injections. More injections means more opportunity for risk and problems. Thus longevity is important factor as well.
Week after my second sculptra I had a few seconds episode of tongue numbness and it was really scary. Nobody knows was it related to the treatment or no, but now I’m scared to repeat it.
So would you say it's OK for eye hollows? Many people I've seen say it shouldn't be used there for high risk of nodules but I also saw that 8% dillusion seems to reduce the possibility of nodules quite a bit in addition to applying the 555 rule.
Thank you for the very informative videos! May I ask, how do I find a provider that is well-trained in the use of Sculptra in my area, and possibly someone you have trained? I'm in Pittsburgh. Second question, do you offer virtual consults? Again TY for taking the time to do all of these videos!
Wow 2 days before? Sculptra is mixed 48-hours beforehand and diluted with 7cc of saline. This is very important to reduce the risk of bumps. An experienced injector, massage, dilution of the product, and facial placement. Sculptra should not be used in shallow muscular areas. The eyes are a no-no area.
I mix Sculptra 20 minutes before. Sculptra is a polymer and cannot absorb water. This is one of the many old myths. Join my aMIT if you are an injector and wanting more information. courses.aesthetictrainingcenter.com/courses
Dr Rajani, Thoughts on someone with Lupus using Sculptra? I'm low level. Not on meds at the moment. Am I better off using HA or perhaps having microneedling/laser or something? 🙏🏼
I had thermage fxl before and my provider told me I should start with it. I did researches myself and I felt I am good candidate for sculptra . I have a small face and I feel like I lost even a bit of volume through thermage, but it could be also due to excercising, cause I do like to exercise a lot and I don’t have too much fat. Now I wander if the combination of these 2 are more beneficial, than doing sculptra alone, cause I feel I didn’t need to do thermage. Also I didn’t see any results from thermage.

Unfortunately, my post from yesterday has been deleted. Sculptra ruined my facial features forever. I am going trough a disastrous situation and I´d like to usher a warning against sculptra. It has destroyed the contours of my face and given me a very heavy jawline after just two vials. I talked to Galderma directly and they are very kind but the problem is, nothing can be done to reverse the progress. My jaw is heavy, my cheeks are too big and my nasolabial folds are deeper than ever. I´m devastated. I have always had a very youthful look (I'm 38 f), I wanted to heal my acne rosacea and look a bit fresher, but this stuff has made me look aged by 5 years within the last three months. I hate my face every day. Please, ladies don't do it. When it goes great it looks great, but when it goes wrong, you are on your own. My injector is not helping whatsoever, she denies there are any changes on my face. I´m just exhausted at this point. Don´t do it - it is not worth the mental pain.
@@rajanimdskincare I´m sorry, I couldn't find it, so I assumed it was deleted. I correct myself: CHOOSE YOUR SURGEON WISELY! I went to get a second opinion today and was told there is still a lot of swelling in my face in week 11 after the second injection. Unfortunately, my injector failed to diagnose the swelling and sent me home saying it was my end result. I start to see that in my case, sculptra probably is not the problem but the injector and how they trivialised my symptoms as "non existent". I picked a well renowned surgent in my country, but you can never be sure. Aftercare is so important for your patient´s mental health. I'm sorry for my tirade - I was very desperate. I learned the new collagen needs some time to settle and I have to wait for things to fall into place.
Do you feel only a Dr-(Plastic surgeon or Derm) should provide sculptra or is it something a qualified PA/RN injectionist could do successfully. I guess it would depend on their level of training. What are some questions to find out what their training is to feel comfortable with exploring this option of treatment?
I had sculptura done last year. Love my results. Dr. Rajani has said, in past vids discussing sculptura, that you need to find a masterful injector who has lots of experience with sculptura. Not just someone who is good. Because I'm a paranoid, I obsessively researched MDs in my area to I found one with enough experience and reviews to back up his claims. I think you need to find the best person possible. In the right hands, it is pretty safe. But, if the injector is not experienced enough, the adverse effects like nodules will become more likely. They can't be treated as easily and can take years to resolve on their own.
@@nperegri i agree.. I had a very experienced PA /injector with years of experience do my chin filler last month and it is not symmetrical- sort of settled more to one side.. not real happy with the result from straight on.. my profile is more pleasing but I always seem to have “off” results with filler because you can’t control how it settles.

Ladies, listen to me: DONT DO SCULPTRA !!!!!!! NOone in their 20s or 30s or even 40s, or ever, should touch this stuff. And the surgeons who talk them into it are criminals! I, 38 female, had two sesions of sculptra this year (2 vials at each seassion, spread 9 weeks apart) and it has wrecked my life! It has taken an absolute toll on my mental health. I'm a mental patient now because of this. I was a healthy and happy woman before. For the last few weeks my face has grown non stop. Every day that I look in the mirror I look less like my self. My cheekds are heavy. When I smile, talk or cry I don´t look like myself anymore. My head is big and round and I´m a small person. This is devastating. I have had an untypical response and the collagen wont stop growing. Everyday I look different from the day before. I was pretty once but now my face is heavy and round and it doesn´t look natural. ONCE YOU KNOW WHAT SCULPTRA LOOKS LIKE ON PEOPLE YOU KNOW WHO DID IT! IT DOESN`T LOOK NATURAL BECAUSE IT ISN`T My surgeon ghosted me and tries to tell me nothing is wrong and that this is all in my head and that I look better than before. IT IS NOT TRUE!! I LOOK AWFUL and nothing can be done to reverse it. NOBODY IS THIS FULL EVERYWHERE IN THEIR FACE!!! NOBODY!!! When I look back at childhood photos, even then I had somewhat of a contour. I reached out to Galderma now because I don´t know what to do anymore. They have been kind so far but I´m not sure they can help. I cannot live like this hoping the collagen will stop or go away eventually. At this point everyone can tell that my head is swollen. I tell people it is water retention, when in fact it is the collagen. I got a second opinion and they, too confirmed that it is the collagen. Gosh, this is a nightmare. When will I finally wake up from this?!?!?!? I WAS INFLUENCED BY VIDEOS LIKE THIS BECAUSE I DIDN`T APPRECIATE WHAT I HAD. WHEN THINGS GO WRONG THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO FOR YOU! THEY WILL MAKE YOU LOOK AND FEEL CRAZY INSTEAD. SCULPTRA SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED IN THE COSMETIC MARKET BECAUSE IT CANNOT BE REVERESED, TREATED OR SLOWED DOWN. NOTHING!!! IT IS RIGHT OUT DANGEROUS!

Beware, Sculptra ruined my face! I had a robust reaction and now have a sagging blowfish face that will last for years after only one treatment. This product last for years so if something goes wrong it doesn’t go away after a few months. My problem is not from nodules but from placement and collagen. My cheeks slowly started blowing up. You want volume… you will get volume. Being in my 50s the volume caused deeper smile/ nasal folds, jowls, and cheek sagging. It put years on my face and there is nothing I can do but hope that the collagen breaks down after a few years. You have been warned! Other injections usually can be fixed or last a few months. Hiding for years because of an injection gone wrong isn’t an option.

Chest or collar bones areas?
I’m looking into sculptra for cheek hollows and temples. This happened so quickly. I feel like overnight. Thank you for this video. Very informative and in perfect timing.
Most welcome
Same here! I just woke up with it. Did you do the sculptra?
How did it go?
I got sculptors this week for the first time. During the treatment my left eye would not close and the left side of my mouth would not move. It did go away after 20 minutes but it was scary. Doctor said the numbing med in the injection hit a nerve. Now I’m anxious to go for my follow up.

Such good info!! I am 42 and am just starting to research and learn about these procedures...I need to come see you!
Thoughts?
Thanks @Glossyvixen I was in my clinic all last week. I do plasmasculpt all day long. 2 sessions 5K usd and it works well. Full face. Plasmasculpt.com. Sculptra is a key component. See an expert. My sense is you dont feel a confidence in her.
I'm getting my sculptra injection next Thursday. I'm excited. Thank you for the informative video.

everyone I heard said Sculptra is the most dangerous one and difficult to inject and is pronte to granulomas because it's not dissolvable unlike HA or radiesse which is absorbed in the body naturally.
Granulomas VERY Rare. BUT, nodules can occur if not done correctly.
@@rajanimdskincare Thank you, I will ask at my local clinic which provides both Sculptra and Radiesse which is the better option for me to treat sudden fat loss induced by microcurrent. Precious channel, thanks
Thanks for sharing Doc. I will give Sculpta a try sometime in the near future.
Please do! and keep me posted. It is very predictable in the right a\hands/ dose and patient

Dr.Rajani , after watching several of your videos on Sculptra , had my first Sculptra and developed a headache next day and lasted for 2 wks and then went away . I normally don’t have headaches . Could it be a side effect from Sculptra ? If so it it ok to go ahead with the second session ?

Hello kitten, it’s your loyal viewer from north of Barrie again. Hope all is well with you. Do you have any opinions on Profhilo or Jalupro? I have lots of clients asking about them. I have done Profhilo on myself, and was blown away when I woke up a few days later, once it had time to take affect.(Not because I slept for a few days straight😂) I understand the science, but maybe your viewers might want an opinion on this.
Go for sculptra instead or plasmafil.com. profhilo does not build collagen
Another really helpful presentation, thanks so much! This was comparing Sculptra with HA fillers. Can you also discuss Sculptra versus biostimulators like Ellanse and Radiesse?
Yes stay tuned
Ellanse please!
How do you feel about the SculPLLA facial and products? I can’t find any reviews that aren’t from sponsors but it sounds revolutionary.

Hey doc, one question I only think you can answer : sculptra works through inflammation, so the body builds collagen.
But isn't inflammation for up to 24 months beneath the upper skin causing more aging?!??
Thanks so much ❤️ I wish I could reach you as my doc.
The level of initial inflammation is low and short duration. You are correct. I have a video in mind to discuss just this.
How long of a time frame is the inflammation from sculptra? I'm four weeks out and my face is still itchy and swelling.
Doc, can you please talk about Sculptra and fillers in people with autoimmune conditions, like Sjogren’s and Hashimotos thyroiditis? Many people suffer with autoimmune conditions and they want to know the risks for fillers. Thank you!
Yes I offer in most cases
@@rajanimdskincare So its ok?
@@rajanimdskincare can you do a video on considerations with Sculptra and autoimmune disease - when it might be dangerous, what might work better for certain situations (PRF etc.)? Hi dr rajani, absolute gold this video! Can you ever get similar results as fillers with sculptra or is it always going to be more subtle!🙏👍
Brilliant thanks always!

Thanks.
What should one do if a vascular occlusion happened with sculptra? There is no acid to resolve the problem .
here is no "acid" tha dissolves any filler. We have enzymes though
I wish I could afford it ! It’s way more expensive than fillers so I’m thinking should I just wait to save up for sculptra, or just in the mean time use fillers 🥺
Keep in mind it last longer. In my practice it is less expensive over the long run.
how much does it cost?
Dr Rajani many thanks for this informative video.Does the same applies for hyperdiluted radiesse as well meaning that it’s safer from dermalfillers?can it also be used for volumizing the temple area?than you 😄
The radiesse syringe itself does not produce suction so if diluted enough and placed in a different syringe yes. But it does not last as long as sculptra and thus one needs more injections. More injections means more opportunity for risk and problems. Thus longevity is important factor as well.
Even olive oil has its own risk factors 😬
Oh no how?
Week after my second sculptra I had a few seconds episode of tongue numbness and it was really scary. Nobody knows was it related to the treatment or no, but now I’m scared to repeat it.
So would you say it's OK for eye hollows? Many people I've seen say it shouldn't be used there for high risk of nodules but I also saw that 8% dillusion seems to reduce the possibility of nodules quite a bit in addition to applying the 555 rule.
Never ever use sculptra for eye hollows. Use plasmaeyes.com

Can you use sculptra with hyaluron pen?
Wow 2 days before? Sculptra is mixed 48-hours beforehand and diluted with 7cc of saline. This is very important to reduce the risk of bumps.
An experienced injector, massage, dilution of the product, and facial placement. Sculptra should not be used in shallow muscular areas. The eyes are a no-no area.
I mix Sculptra 20 minutes before. Sculptra is a polymer and cannot absorb water. This is one of the many old myths.

Dr Rajani,
Thoughts on someone with Lupus using Sculptra? I'm low level. Not on meds at the moment. Am I better off using HA or perhaps having microneedling/laser or something? 🙏🏼
I do it but risks higher. Depends on titres too
I had thermage fxl before and my provider told me I should start with it.

Thanks for this doctor I'm going into Dr Amir Karam's medical spa in SD next week and I'm interested in this procedure. I read one horror story of a lady and it freaked me out. Also I heard to take caution with autoimmune issues- I'm hypothyroid not sure if I have Hashi antibodies.
See an expert for sculptr. There are only a handful in the country.
It's still up and I even commented on it
@@rajanimdskincare I´m sorry, I couldn't find it, so I assumed it was deleted.
Can sculptra be injected while on antibiotics? I have the common cold currently and my appointment is tomorrow ugh.
You’re the best. And hilarious. And so helpful!!!!
Thank you
Do you feel only a Dr-(Plastic surgeon or Derm) should provide sculptra or is it something a qualified PA/RN injectionist could do successfully.
Dr. Rajani I recently got some fillers around marionettes and chin area. I didn't know about Sculptra. Now, can Sculptra be applied underneath the fillers I just got?
Also, can Sculptra be applied on nasolabial folds and marionette lines?

Ladies, listen to me: DONT DO SCULPTRA
!!!!!!!
IT DOESN`T LOOK NATURAL BECAUSE IT ISN`T
My surgeon ghosted me and tries to tell me nothing is wrong and that this is all in my head and that I look better than before. IT IS NOT TRUE!!
I LOOK AWFUL and nothing can be done to reverse it. NOBODY IS THIS FULL EVERYWHERE IN THEIR FACE!!! NOBODY!!! When I look back at
childhood photos, even then I had somewhat of a contour.

You do understand that your case is rare, right? You also do understand that it requires a more skilled injector than fillers do, right? You could have easily gone to the wrong person, or you had a rare reaction.
