Great video. I’ve been looking at the reissue lately on the resale market and am thinking of taking the plunge. I’m glad you compared the small with the mini, it highlighted some things I never noticed, like the double grommets on both so the weight sits on the flap and not the bag like the classic mini.
I love the Reissue! For me it's lighter in weight, but holds more than the Classic Flap. Great video!

The aged gold looks beautiful on the black reissue! I think aged gold hardware suits the reissue style so well even though I don’t really like it when Chanel uses it on other bags.

Yes! That lavender color is so stunning and I’m having the hardest time resisting the urge to get something in that color even if it’s just an SLG. I know I won’t wear a bag in lavender and I don’t need more SLGs but ahh it’s so pretty.

This is a great overview. I love the 2.55 and feel it does not get the kudos it deserves. The main downsides for me is that the lock is a bit finicky to close compared to the classic flap. It also shows wear faster on the hardware. For the clasp, it rubs against itself and makes that smile mark. For the chain, it will discolor faster in the gold because the metal rubs more on the grommets and clothes. The classic flap has the leather touching the skin and clothing, so I find that the hardware stays in better shape. However if you have a classic with light colored leather, you would get the wear on the leather.
Ahh yes I’ve heard that the antique looking hardware can discolor due to how it’s made. Luckily it hasn’t happened to mine yet. It’s also interesting you’re the second person who has mentioned recently that the turn lock is hard to close. I haven’t noticed it myself but I also barely ever use my classic flaps so I’ll have to test and compare the two myself sometime.

I’m thinking of getting the small classic flap eventually but you’re right, the prices are insane. I feel like by the time I find the perfect color, it would cost close to $10k USD 😨

In Asia, it’s opposite, most people now wearing smaller bag. My original reissue has been sitting in wardrobe for ages.
I much prefer smaller bags too. Looking back, I never needed all that space in my bags even when I was carrying those big hobo bags that were popular 10 years ago.

Unfortunately I’ve never owned one. From what I’ve heard it really depends on the type of tweed. The ones with a tighter weave tend to be more durable.
Did you have any issue with color transfer? I am thinking to get this bag but still havent pull the trigger yet :(
I got a tiny bit of color transfer along the bottom edge of the bag in the back. It’s barely noticeable though. I have to look really hard to find it and even then I sometimes don’t spot it. Also got a little bit of color between the flap - it’s on both the inside of the flap and the corresponding part where it rests against the bag. I have no idea how that got there though.
How many carat of the diamond ring? Is it from Tiffany? Looks nice.
Thanks! The center stone is a little over 2 carats. It’s not from Tiffany. I had a jeweler make it.

Is the mini the same as 224? Or does 224 have double flap?
In terms of size they’re essentially equal but the 224 has the double flap and I don’t think they make the 224 anymore.
Does the white one easily get dirty or get color transferred when wearing jeans ?
You definitely need to be careful with it. I wouldn’t advise wearing jeans with it.
I wonder if anyone tried using carbon pro spray on the white reissue to protect the bag?

I got a tiny bit of color transfer at the very bottom edge on the back. It’s barely noticeable and even when I’m looking for it specifically I sometimes miss it. Honestly though, with white bags it’s always best to stay away from darker clothes especially jeans but luckily with the reissue you can just shoulder carry it if you’re wearing jeans.

Hmm that’s quite a big bag so personally I would pick black since that’s a lot of surface area to keep clean on a white bag. But it depends if you think having a black reissue would be too similar to your classic flap.

Another great video and hey you made me realize I had it wrong which was the 2:55 reissue I always thought the 2:55 reissue was the one with the leather chain strap and the Interlocked cc logo.
But I was totally wrong
Anyway Im seeing in this is one softer than the one with the CC and this one does work as a crossbody, I’ve seen video complaints about the classic one doesn’t work well as crossbody on the medium size.
Haha yeah it’s called 2.55 because the original bag was first released in February 1955. And you’re right, the aged calfskin that is usually used on the reissues is not as rigid. The classic flap is much too short as a crossbody bag in my opinion. When people do it, I feel like it looks the same as having a belt bag worn across your chest. But I love the length of it worn on my shoulder…can’t have it all 😅
@@CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC ohh ok great. My mom has the classic flap in the jumbo size since like 10 years and almost never wears it. She regrets the size she got so I’m suggesting her to re sell it and buy the mini size and with your video I’m thinking of telling her to get the reissue since she Wants a crossbody and the reissue looks much more practical than the classic.
The mini rectangular is also a good crossbody length but it doesn’t have the 4 grommets so it’s a bit more limiting in terms of how you can carry it without doing some DIY yourself. And since it’s usually made in lambskin it’s more delicate than the aged calfskin on the reissue. But that bag is also way more popular and many people prefer that style so it may be worth it to try both on before deciding. I think either bag would be better than a jumbo. That bag is huge and so heavy 😅

The chain of the Classic looks prittier but the the reissue seems like Its more confortable
It might just be me but I haven’t had any luck with the mini rectangular classic flaps 😞 I tried buying 2 this year and had to return both. It’s the complete opposite for the mini reissues though. They’re perfect, no complaints whatsoever. Yet that doesn’t stop me from wanting a mini rectangular still 🤦🏻♀️
