It’s so true, making YT videos is really hard work. It took me almost 2 years to get to 500 subscribers and I almost gave up until I decided I’ll just present what I like, more like sharing, vs trying to produce content to please the algorithm. Good that you took a break and recharged. Hope you’ll continue to find joy on this platform ☺️

Yeah I remember when you first started posting videos. Can’t believe it’s almost been two years already! I still watch your videos. I struggle with the growth aspect too but same as you I decided not to let that bother me and discourage me from posting more content.

I think it’s great you’re not on an “Hermes journey” - such a bore. I don’t get the obsession with Birkins and Kellys and having the same collection as every other influencer. Stay true to yourself! Also appreciate you shedding light on the cost of your Maldives vacation. I always knew it was expensive but wow 😮 had no idea it was THAT expensive! 😅

We definitely splurged on that trip 😅 Don’t think I’ll be doing that again anytime soon though.

It definitely takes a lot of guts to put yourself out there and I think it's important to be true to yourself on your channel. It's not a step-down to buy something you like no matter what the brand is. If you like it then you like it. Period. I also think you're correct that there's a lot of deception on here. Unfortunately it's something to be aware of so that we are careful who we watch and what kind of content we consume. It's similar to the expression "buyer beware." In this case, it's watcher beware. Haha! Great video, Carol! 💖

Absolutely agree with everything you said here Sarah! Social media in general has such wide ranging effects.

Missed seeing your videos lately, but I am happy to see that youre back! Taking time off for yourself is super important so don't sweat it! Don't know if this means much but I really appreciate all your effort in making genuine videos 😊 I always turn off my ad block when i watch your channel haha
Also that Maldives trip was an absolute dream of a trip! Glad that you and your husband had a good time! Keep up the great content Carol! 加油加油

Thank you for sharing your travel tips for your Maldives vacation. I knew it would be expensive but wow!
I think sticking to what you like and getting back to basics is what many people are looking for in videos. Yes. We appreciate videos on luxury goods but not where influencers are dropping $10k + like it’s nothing on a weekly bases. That’s just not reality for many. I pretty much stopped watching those influencers. keep it real. I liked the clothing haul videos you did in the past. I do like your luxury videos because you don’t go overboard. I feel your spend is attainable for many. Would be nice to see what you wore or capsule videos, how you care for your bags or jewelry. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the suggestions! Yeah doing clothing/style videos is fun but they take too long to film and I haven’t had the time. Maybe I’ll try to figure out a way to film OOTDs efficiently and that could be a start to incorporating style content back in a bit.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. I’m about your age (25-35) and really don’t understand the Hermes hype 😅 1. the bags (Birkin/Kelly) from that brand look boring and are not easy to use at all 2. you have to buy a lot of “trash” to become qualified for a Birkin or Kelly 😂 p.s. Welcome back 🎊

    • @CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC
      @CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC  5 місяців тому +2

Haha “trash” 🫣🤭 My favorite part about the Birkin/Kelly is the look of the locking mechanism on the flap (which is part of why I bought the Kelly belt) but aside from that I feel like other bag designs look better. I have to admit the leather is really nice though.

@@CAROLCHANNELINGCHIC by trash I mean that customers are forced to buy things they don’t truly love. Many YT end up selling their bag charms, shoes or scarfs 😅

I appreciate this video! I hate videos that said, this is not a sponsored video, but the brand kindly sent me this bag, so blah..blah…meh, I love your honest opinion on this topic even if is not popular.

For your hair, I swam everyday for a week in the sea before and something me and hubby did which helped was. After swimming in the sea rinsing our hair very very well then using hair conditioner (instead of shampoo which can cause more dryness). This kept our hair soft and clean. For the luxury items, for certain many people are just showing certain bags for content and not really using it. I'm not on a Hermes journey because its not practical, nor is it safe to carry around much even in major cities.

Great tips! I’ll have to try them next time.
I always wonder how people with large collections get use out of everything. Even I find myself struggling.

Was thinking of u the other day! I still love your style and any bag or accessory you share is always interesting to me. Idc for everyone's hermes journeys honestly. I care more about everyone's unique style, not just owning brands

Welcome back! I’m with you I’m not impulsively decluttering but I’m definitely buying less. I’m buying other things other than bags and saving a bit more but that isn’t to say I won’t ever buy bags again.

keep being you and buy the things you love. people with like minds like myself will continue to watch you! although, it's nice to declutter once in while and keep things we love. those videos i find too click-baity and not authentic in some ways.

Thanks Sandy! 🩷 Yeah I find ‘declutter with me’ videos a bit strange. It seems too scripted to me because I feel like people have already made their decisions prior to turning on the camera.
