Thank you. I have a 2016 2500 duramax. Been watching your videos. All the work I have done in the last month watching your videos I have save more than 2k in labor. From brakes brake calipers cv shafts. Keep them coming next is tie rods for my truck.
I beat my truck up everyday! I plan on keeping it... The reason I say this is because I bought a lifetime fronend alignment plan from Firestone tire. I use it often whenever I replace suspension parts that affect alignment.
Just ordered the same type of tie rods I’m excited about installing them. Thanks for the vid. I also just go upper control arms and the stabilizers! Thanks for ALL of your bids bro.
Hey truck master thank you for all your videos you make it helps me a lot 🙏. But I do have a question for you, so I just installed ppe tie rods on my lml duramax and brought it to do an alignment and les Schwab told me that in 10k miles theys tie rods will break right at the ball joints due to bc its to beefy and it doesn’t have no flex when I go over pot holes and just daily driving compared to the stocks, anyway what I wanted to say it’s been 5 years since this video came out and wanted to ask you how did your ppe tie rods hold up?
Looks like a fitment issue with these tie rods & the truck. I have the same truck basically & just replaced mine with Moog, Though my truck is only slightly lifted , it has some issues but didn’t have to remove the linkage to get sway bar.
It’s sitting in a jack stand when the truck is in the ground they are not as bad. That’s why I never do anything over a level on Silverado or Sierra’s with stock cv axles though.
I know this is an old vid but I put these on my truck an one of them won't take grease on the ball joint side? The grease zerk Is in perfect shape, even took it off an tested it. Any ideas?
how long of a job to change out tie-rods? also about to put new bushings on end links will sway bar hit kryptonite tie-rods? you just leave it un bolted and ran it?
I have a 2003 Chevy 2500hd duramax 2wd. What do you recommend I do to level out the rear and the front end. The front is too low. Would you recommend a spacer or a lift kit?
Anyone know if these will fit on a 1500? I can’t find a part number match but given the amount of universal parts gm uses I wouldn’t be surprised if they fit.
Did you ever try to flip your sway bar so it will clear the tierods better. I noticed on my truck my tierod was hitting my sway bar but I'm not lifted as high as you. I just have green keys cranked up. I had to make some longer sway bar links so the tie rods would clear. 👍🏼
I'd try that first. If it can work flipped do it. If not just get longer bolts and a longer sleeve for the sway bar links like I did. My inner tierod boot would hit the sway bar and I didn't want to blow another boot like the stockers did unnoticed. Good luck
Just curious who is this lift through on my lifted spindles I mount my tie rod from the top and I turned my sway bar over to make up the room I have a pro comp lift
Nice job . I have PPE tie rods too with 2" level keys and did a Boosted launch and shit the hole front end both CV's ,center link and inner tie rods @ 611 HP . My bad but FYI on any Boosted launches with a lift lol .
Oshy it isn't just a Chevy problem. A friend has rebuilt the front end in his dodge several times. And it gets the death wobble. Ford is known for the death wobble to..
Have you had any issues with the outer boots on those tie rods? Just put a pair of these tie rods on my 06 dmax and the boots are already leaking grease due to a tear in the boot on both sides. 2 weeks old
+Adam Eudaly yes mine are doing the same but I think it's because I put to much grease in mine. I plan on putting some clear sealant on the leaking spots I hope that will stop it from seeping out
Talked to ppe today they said it is from having a lifted front end and changing the original angle of the tie rod. Then when the control arm is fully extended with a arm travel I guess they will pinch. They recommended limiting straps to prevent the lower control arm from over extending. Also you can buy new outer and inner boots from there website for $25.
Idk what’s going on but replaced the steering box and shafts pitman/idler arm and bracket tried installing these PPE tie rods and they are hitting the inner CV axle when in 4wd? Any solutions
my lady has a 03 duramax 2500hd 2wd. she needs new tie rods would this video be the same on how to install for her truck also?? her truck also is squeeking like crazy when she's driving it would that be the ball joints or shocks?
Truck Master it's a creaking noise every time we go over small bumps or dips. she hasn't done any work on it I've had to learn how to do stuff to keep it running. she pulls a horse trailer also. it also stalls sometimes and she has to prime it to start it again. lol sorry for all my questions.
The lift drops the front diff 2-3" to keep geometry. My 2500hd has a leveling kit and my sway bar has the same issues. Has nothing to do with the lift.
brandon katrenak Just trying to help, but it does have something to do with the lift. You need to drop the sway bar mounts as much as you drop the diff. A piece of formed C channel or rectangular tubing is usually put between the sway bar mount and the frame so there's no interference issues.
Hello, I have a 2008 duramax. Some times it goes on reduce power mode, only happens when I am towing heavy loads. I took it to the dealer, and they changed several parts and it made no difference. The parts they replaced: diesel filter unit with filter and a pressure sensor. But still is doing the reduce power mode.. any ideas how to fix it?
Kilo Alas it sounds like one of you solenoids are sticking inside your valve body, u had the same problem a few years back but it might be time for a rebuild
Not saying you did anything wrong but im pretty sure your sway bar is upside down and your tie rods should be on top of your knuckle. But you may have a different brand lift than me
As always thanks for another great video but why did you choose to go with PPE over other brands like (Rare, Kryptonite and DMAX XD). I'm in the market to upgrade mine and was wondering your thoughts.
alotandstuff There's no CV spacers between the diff flange and the axle. All lifted IFS trucks need them to prevent that. Not sure why they aren't on there.
u know I notice that there are few people asking u bout the stabilizer link and yet u have not answer their question... where is the fucking update for the stabilizer link... thank you..
I know the FBI busted multiple chinese manufacturers at last year's SEMA for making knockoffs. I have no doubts they will be in action again this year jalopnik.com/shit-gets-real-at-sema-as-feds-seize-chinese-aftermarke-1788555323
Hey jason Gibson why dont you "go ahead" and fuck off the videos are made for people who cant afford to pay mechanics unlike yourself who has parents to pay for it

Thanks for posting all these videos. I've learned a lot from you
Just ordered the same type of tie rods I’m excited about installing them. Thanks for the vid. I also just go upper control arms and the stabilizers! Thanks for ALL of your bids bro.
Any complaints 5 years later?
I just ordered HD sleeves for now, but I'm going to have to upgrade soon!
+JW Montoya sleeves are good too but these things are double the size
seems like nobody noticed his truck was on jack stands? the cv axles will flatten out once he lowers it
+JASe BOw thank you!
Those sure look a lot like Rareparts tie rod ends.
What did you do with sway bar end links?
Dude I ordered KSP tie rods and your plywood matches the plywood in the package instruction photos
Hey truck master thank you for all your videos you make it helps me a lot 🙏. Mine blew up after 1200 miles!
Looks like a fitment issue with these tie rods & the truck.
I have the same truck basically & just replaced mine with Moog,
Though my truck is only slightly lifted , it has some issues but didn’t have to remove the linkage to get sway bar.
Looks like a new cv shaft wonder why.. them angels are crazy!
It’s sitting in a jack stand when the truck is in the ground they are not as bad. That’s why I never do anything over a level on Silverado or Sierra’s with stock cv axles though.
Did u have to grease the inner boots ?
I know this is an old vid but I put these on my truck an one of them won't take grease on the ball joint side? The grease zerk Is in perfect shape, even took it off an tested it. Any ideas?
I had some but when they installed them tires didn’t turn all the way like before so I had to settle for smaller ones
Got a link to that adjustable?
So do you need longer sway bar links ? I have stock ride height. I about to order a set. Any feed back on them ?
Does the swaybar connect back together after the tie rod is installed?
tie road are upside down
Ever try krptonite tie rods?
Are 2wd and 4wd tie rods any different?
how long of a job to change out tie-rods? also about to put new bushings on end links will sway bar hit kryptonite tie-rods? you just leave it un bolted and ran it?
Good looking tires.
My truck isn’t lifted, I have the tie rods already, should mine hit the sway bar links? Or should I be in the clear?
Did u leave sway bar disconnected?
Lol what a ‘good question’
Nice great video bro I had just asked you about it in another video
+Estevan Munoz that's cool thanks man
By any chance do you kno if I could use these for a 2003 Suburban Lt
I have a 2003 Chevy 2500hd duramax 2wd. What do you recommend I do to level out the rear and the front end. The front is too low. Would you recommend a spacer or a lift kit?
What did u do about the sway bar clearance issues?
Anyone know if these will fit on a 1500? I can’t find a part number match but given the amount of universal parts gm uses I wouldn’t be surprised if they fit.
They should fit I just ordered kryptonite ones for my 1500
Did you put locktite on your inner, I just put those same tie rods on my 08 lmm but I didn't use any locktite
Did you have to use longer sway bar bolts or the stock ones?
Did you ever try to flip your sway bar so it will clear the tierods better. I noticed on my truck my tierod was hitting my sway bar but I'm not lifted as high as you. I just have green keys cranked up. I had to make some longer sway bar links so the tie rods would clear. 👍🏼
+Lanni_LBZ no I didn't try that but I want to try and reposition my sway bar that might work
I'd try that first. If it can work flipped do it. If not just get longer bolts and a longer sleeve for the sway bar links like I did. My inner tierod boot would hit the sway bar and I didn't want to blow another boot like the stockers did unnoticed. Good luck
anybody else noticed that axle boot being all twisted up.?
Just curious who is this lift through on my lifted spindles I mount my tie rod from the top and I turned my sway bar over to make up the room I have a pro comp lift
Can use these on chevy Silverado 1500 hd 6.0
Are those zone control arms?
What problems were u having with your old tie rods, did u get any shaking in your steering wheel. If so did these make a whole lot of difference
I got the wheel shaking as well I’m wondering the same thing?
Nice job . I have PPE tie rods too with 2" level keys and did a Boosted launch and shit the hole front end both CV's ,center link and inner tie rods @ 611 HP . My bad but FYI on any Boosted launches with a lift lol .
+C Holder dang man that impressive
C Holder are you say that the frontend still broke even with the PPE Tierod ends?
0307 0307 Older chevy trucks have that problem, the front end is just shit, I just had mine rebuilt
Oshy it isn't just a Chevy problem. A friend has rebuilt the front end in his dodge several times. And it gets the death wobble. Ford is known for the death wobble to..
0307 0307 yes it did . The CV'S have to be flat or it will still toe in . I didn't break the outer tie rods with the sleeves . 05 GMC
Did you have to get longer Sway Bar endlinks?
No I never did
Thanks for the info man, got mine on order an I wanted to know if I had to order those too
Love the videos
Max Ashby thanks man
Have you had any issues with the outer boots on those tie rods? Just put a pair of these tie rods on my 06 dmax and the boots are already leaking grease due to a tear in the boot on both sides. 2 weeks old

Now that you've had the PPE Tie Rods on for awhile, do you still recommended them and are they sill leaking grease?
Idk what’s going on but replaced the steering box and shafts pitman/idler arm and bracket tried installing these PPE tie rods and they are hitting the inner CV axle when in 4wd? Any solutions
Got any pictures? That should never happen in less your tie rods are on the bottom of your knuckle (wrong) and should be on the top (right)
good video as always!
+Billy Bob thanks man
my lady has a 03 duramax 2500hd 2wd. she needs new tie rods would this video be the same on how to install for her truck also?? her truck also is squeeking like crazy when she's driving it would that be the ball joints or shocks?
+Anthony Valadez if it's squeaky most likely it's brakes or wheel bearings but yes this is the same process to change her tie Rods
Truck Master it's a creaking noise every time we go over small bumps or dips. she hasn't done any work on it I've had to learn how to do stuff to keep it running. she pulls a horse trailer also. it also stalls sometimes and she has to prime it to start it again. lol sorry for all my questions.
Anthony Valadez ball joints
reason why the sway bar isn't correct because someone didn't drop it when they stuck this half ass lift in it
The lift drops the front diff 2-3" to keep geometry.
Same install on the 08?
You need a diff drop and knuckles. Otherwise you will be replacing those tie rods every 10k, axles too.
Wow, you make it look so easy. No specialty tools needed for this?
+Brandon Miller maybe a pickle fork but nothing a pet bar can't handle. Thanks for the comment
great video as always. but man those CV axles are scary lol.
+Brock Childers I used a jack to raise the front end to work on the truck that's why it looks like that in the video. Thanks man take it easy
what style lift kit do you have on her? looks like you just put in different torsion keys?
+Daniel Plagerman procomp
Did these last?
Yes definitely I still run them
The cotter pin ???
Will those work with a 1999?
gosh, do you have issues with CV axles? That doesn't look like an ideal angle for em.
+Tigersfan829 the front end is off the ground when I was installing these so it looks off, I should of told everyone that in the video lol
Good point haha I didn't think about that
Why Is your tie rod going in from the bottom??
Hello, I have a 2008 duramax. Some times it goes on reduce power mode, only happens when I am towing heavy loads. I took it to the dealer, and they changed several parts and it made no difference. The parts they replaced: diesel filter unit with filter and a pressure sensor. But still is doing the reduce power mode.. any ideas how to fix it?
If you are running the stock fuel pressure relief valve, it could be the issue. See this link. duramaxtuner.com/fuel-pressure-relief-valve.html
Do these have a lifetime warranty? Deciding between knees or the Kryptonights
Kryponite has a lifetime
Do they work for 1500 Suburbans and pickups? What do you suggest?
Yes they sure do
Next up Armor bumper???
+Inspire_Greatness74 i was thinking the same thing last week that
Are the outter tie rod ball joints Replaceable
+Robert Burkhalter yes
Truck Master thank you
Would this fit a 1500?
Last week my LMM shot a code p0776 and now I have no reverse or drive. I really do not understand or know what to do.
+Kilo Alas it might be in limp mode reset the code and it should fix it for not
+Truck Master now
I have reset the code and it's stuck itself in 3rd gear and when I got home I had no reverse or drive
Kilo Alas it sounds like one of you solenoids are sticking inside your valve body, u had the same problem a few years back but it might be time for a rebuild
what brand would you recommend?
Not saying you did anything wrong but im pretty sure your sway bar is upside down and your tie rods should be on top of your knuckle. But you may have a different brand lift than me
Ty Law I ran into that issue just now on my install
As always thanks for another great video but why did you choose to go with PPE over other brands like (Rare, Kryptonite and DMAX XD). I'm in the market to upgrade mine and was wondering your thoughts.
+Jeffery Hildner I've owned some of the top name Tie Rods in the past but PPE seem a lot more beefy compared to the others less expensive
What do you gain with upgraded tie rods
+jorge ramirez read the description but they are overall stronger GM truck tend to bend tie Rods easily and these are almost indestructible
What size of lift do you have? What brand?
+Jay Ramsden procomp 6"
Dude your cv boots are so stretched!!!
alotandstuff
There's no CV spacers between the diff flange and the axle. All lifted IFS trucks need them to prevent that. Not sure why they aren't on there.
It's jacked up no pressure on the IFS is why it looks like that lol
What's IFS truck?
Shane K Independent Front Suspension
Hey where did you get the CV axles from?
+Roy Bradshaw advanced auto
Advanced auto? Sorry I'm in Washington
Well what I'm trying to get at are those CV axles stock length or did you buy longer ones to delete the spacer?
Link don't work
do you blow cv axle boots with that lift kit?
+Yamaha Rider I have not sure about anyone else
I'm trying to find a lift kit that I won't be going through axle boots every other month lol
Yamaha Rider you won't have to if you just lower your torsion bars
That part is made in USA or made in china
Awesome videos, keep them coming! Have you considered doing the pitman, idler arm or center link? I'd like to tackle it all at once.
+johnsta83 I have definitely considered it but maybe next year I will get to it
@@TruckMaster how did they hold up I'm about getting those instead of the kryptonite. Its just for my daily driver
so why the tie rod put upside down
Stealthcon69
That's how they are on factory gm knuckles. Lift kit knuckles are usually turned around
I'm thinking of ordering a set, how are they holding up?
Still very strong
@@TruckMaster sounds good, thanks.
Those angles of the CV axles is a bad deal. They won't last long like that.
Your tie rod ends should have been installed on top of the mount, not on the bottom.
Mine was professionally installed on top and I have a 6 inch lift
You are wrong my friend. If you have a lift kit like mine this is the proper orientation
@@TruckMaster how much lift do have??
Spend the money for a good lift cause those CV axle angles are wack and you need some rust stop
Your cv axle has too much of an offset
That tie rod angle looks a bit much.
by the way easier with the tires taken off.
+Trent Nelson I know I should have done that instead
Your sway bar is upside down.
u know I notice that there are few people asking u bout the stabilizer link and yet u have not answer their question... where is the fucking update for the stabilizer link... thank you..
These tie rods are chinese knockoffs of Rare Parts tie rod assemblies.
+orion0110 never realized it
I know the FBI busted multiple chinese manufacturers at last year's SEMA for making knockoffs. I have no doubts they will be in action again this year jalopnik.com/shit-gets-real-at-sema-as-feds-seize-chinese-aftermarke-1788555323
They look like ppe stage 3 tie rods
man this truck has the most rust ive ever seen on a dirty max mine looks new
+monty taylor I guess you don't live in a norther state that uses salt on the road
You say "go ahead" like 89 times in this vid..
Hey jason Gibson why dont you "go ahead" and fuck off the videos are made for people who cant afford to pay mechanics unlike yourself who has parents to pay for it
You need a better lift your CV are at really bad Angeles same with your tierods ....
Ree
no need to show how to open a box...lol
You're front end angles are junk, replace that cheap lift with a legitimate lift that drops the front diff
Do you need to add grease to the tie rods ?
Yeah
what sway bar links did you go with?
+M moog problem solvers
