You might have already seen this video. It was posted earlier this summer, but went away for editing after UA-cam came down on us. :-) It's been on rumble all along, without interruption.
The people that run UA-cam are wanna be dictator's that hate the American way of life! You have done nothing wrong. The people who think they can control what we see are the problem
Being 74 years old I was raised in the San Fernando Valley were my Dad worked for Rocketdyne up at Santa Susana. I was the oldest of 7 kids and born in 1950 after he returned from WW2 were he was a Medic and was sent to the Philippines and after the Bomb was dropped he was sent to Nagasaki until 1948 . Anyway he was able to get me on the Pistol Team of Rocketdyne . Back in those days that was a 25 meter target that you would shoot Slow Fire 10 shots in 10 minutes, Timed Fire 10 shots in 20 seconds and Rapid Fire 10 shots in 10 seconds. I was 15 years old when I started and bought a Ruger with the bull barrel for 22 caliber and they loaned me a Springfield 1911 45 Auto. I was able to shoot and learn those Gentlemen taught me many things about pistols . As I grew up I bought or was given 2 High Standard Supermatics , Colt Gold Cup 45 Automatic , Colt Woodsman Match in 22 long rifle with the S&W 41 that’s owned by a close friend of mine who will eventually sell to Me. As things worked out I am the only living male child between all my cousins that is still alive and have inherited quite a few more. I honestly someone enjoys
Hickok45 you warmed my heart with your story..Back in 69 when i first got into the shooting sports..i was introduced to bullseye competition. Didnt have much money then and bought a model 41 to start then over the next few years as competition bit me i purchased a Colt Gold Cup, an Ithaca model 51, am Mossberg 144 and a SW model 19. That was my guns until i got into DCM competition and earned an M1 garand from CMP..now some 50 years later.. and gun safes later..well you know the bug..god bless be well
I used to shoot bullseye pistol competition and wanted one for years. Last year I finally bought and it is an absolute tack-driver. I wish I could have afforded it years ago, but raising a family takes a toll on the budget. The Smith 41 is one of the all time great designs.
Outstanding firearm!!! I have owned a Ruger mark 1, and a Browning buckmark target model, but the 41 is my favorite. Never had the budget for one but hey! Thanks for bringing that out and sharing with us all. Guns n life is good 👍
Never seen or heard of this one. Thank you for posting, am 78 LOL and love the caliber .22 for fun. OMG, $15,000 for a .22 pistol, ah no thanks above my old head. Great shooting Hickok .... God Bless
I bought a used but like new Model 41 (7” barrel with muzzle brake) at least 35 years ago. It tended to jam and then I noticed the barrel appeared to be drilled crooked. Opening didn’t line up with the feed ramp precisely. I sent it back to Smith & Wesson and they replaced the barrel at no charge. It shot perfectly thereafter.
Don't see a lot of rimfire going downrange here. One night I was at a rental range, and at closing time a bunch of people showed up for a match. I stuck around to watch, and somebody asked if I wanted to borrow his Ruger Mk lll and join in the fun. I had a blast that evening, and within a few days had purchased my own. I like the 41 as well❤
Bought mine about 20 yrs ago for $400, 5” barrel and made in 1979, if I remember correctly…. The only mark on it is where the slide release is…. Also came with original orange follower mag -11shots… CCI Mini Mags work the best in it… beautiful pistol… !
Model 41 are known to have ftf .The answer is feed it cci standard velocity ammo! The high velocity ammo is hard on the pistol because it bashes the slide causing damage and even cracking the frame. A pistol this nice deserves it. Had mine for 15 years now and only feed it cci standard velocity. Very reliable now, and accurate. Would make a great hunting pistol if i didn’t live in Kanuckstan! I bought a older one due to the nicer blueing on them but not d and t for scopeing. Oh btw keep it clean and proper ammo and it’s a great pistol
In 1960 and 61 they made a third barrel called the Sportser. It was a 4 1/2 in but it was lightened by shaving steel off the front of the barrel. I have one.
This pistol, was A well, wish , Years ago. AWESOME! These are awesome .22 pistols. Not held one in over 40 Yrs. You all keep them hid, LOL. Nicely done. You did A good history on this firearm. Well done sir. Get back to Somerset, Ky. soon. I admit, gun shows are lacking here, oversold and overpriced, like all! I bought my model 29, .44 Mag, back in the 80's, for $300.00. , long gone sadly. Tired of $45.00, for box of shells, to shoot 6? Used to 9mm now, miss Dirty Harry. I enjoy your reviews, as you do. Have fun, share the wealth with us. Peace, John. Been Yrs. since you shot, >41 magnum, model 57. Any chance upcoming soon? John. Stay safe friend.
My 41 is packed in the S&W box that has "LSI" logos all over from back when Lear Siegler owned S&W. The glass smooth deeply blued finish isn't seen much these days.
In 1980 I went to a Montgomery Wards store in Walnut Creek California to buy a handgun. The Wards store in my town didn't sell handguns. They had two Handguns I was interested in, both priced at $237.00 plus tax. A Ruger stainless steel 357 Blackhawk and a Smith & Wesson model 41. I thought $237.00 was a lot of money for a 22 handgun, so I bought the Ruger that I still own.
if I had bought one back in 1985, I would still own it, too bad I did not have the cash at the time, it was a 5 inch with all the bells and whistles, barrel weights and all the goodies in a velvet lined walnut box, and all the tools, Olympic quality, just did not have $1,200 for it!
i spent 6 weeks at Bernstein Med Center in Baltimore. I ate nothing but bacon, eggs, steak, shrimp, corn, cheese, butter, hambugarm, chcjein, cheese, butter, corn, hotdog
shot bullseye in the 80s with my lowly ruger mark 2 . didnt have the money for a 41 that the big teams had . did get to shoot against colts, and the smith and wesson teams
Any hints about adjusting the magazines? I have two. One is a 1971 model. The original magazine always works, but others are hit and miss. The amazing point is that a CNC barrel made a few weeks ago will fit a hand fitted receiver.
Thanks for tag end, John. Thanks for the Model 41 video. 7” barrel? Wow! Spring in September? Must be a different Tennessee, one in the Southern Hemisphere… Uh nope. Sorry it disappeared. UA-cam does that, now. Ridiculous.
I would like to see American vs Europe best .22 pistol (that can be shoot 2 handed). That would be the S&W 41 vs the Walther CSP Dynamic in my opinion.
I've been meaning to ask you. You were talking down there in one of your little conversations. Was just talking and Kylie was there. How tall is Clyde? I didn't even think he was as tall. I think he is just curious
i have been thinking for a while getting the volquartzen top from mark IV seen a video about how it penetrates the skull im wondering what you guys think of using a pistol like that for self defense
I feel SO much safer because you edited out those nasty sponsors and information on “gun stuff for sale”. You are helping to create a better world because of how much you “care” … 🤔
I bought the model 41 Performance Center Brand New last year. Right out of the box I could not rack the slide, It was stuck, I could not move the safety from on to off, it was stuck I could not pull down the trigger guard to disassemble it was stuck. Everything was STUCK! the only thing that worked was the mag release. Sent it back to Smith for repairs. They made repairs and sent it back to me. First round jammed. I'm done with it. How can S & W Performance Center send out a firearm that does not function at all?
You need to shoot a new M41 approx 1000 - 1500 rounds before it functions well. I used alot of CCI Minimags first 1000 rounds and now my M41 PC functions perfect and eats all kind of brands of .22 ammo. It dislikes more greasy ammo brands like RWS.
Hey @hickok45 can you possibly do a video on the smith and Wesson model 59? Me and my fiancée watch your videos together all the time and she just inherited the pistol from her grandpa
You might have already seen this video. It was posted earlier this summer, but went away for editing after UA-cam came down on us. :-) It's been on rumble all along, without interruption.
Took me a second to realize why all your videos kept cutting, makes sense now gotta love censorship.
Yeah I guess I don't know exactly what U tube cracked down on.
Rumble would appear to be THE place for data retention.

Tucker Carlson just mentioned you hickok45 while he was on stage with Dan Bongino. Congratz..big league..
I’ll probably never have a 66 corvette but I have a model 41 that still makes me happy after fifty years and still runs like new
Best way to spend an afternoon watching this absolute legend show us some amazing guns
The S&W Model 41 has always been a top choice for precision target shooting, and the 35th Anniversary model just adds that extra touch of class.
In Europe the Walther would smoke it.
Dawg im convinced that when he test his guns the recoil from each shot Increases his lifespan
Yup, he’s a legend. I wonder if his middle name is “Timex”?
I think the powder smoke is his fountain of youth.

Gotta love a .22 fun times!
Hickok45 for President!
It sure would be nice having an everyday citizen as president!
I recently rebuilt my S&W pellet gun that looks just like that. An Iconic model
What a smart purchase 35 years ago. Thanks for sharing. 👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Indeed, one of the best!

1,300 to 1,500 dollars is around what they cost nowadays 😊
Fellas, many of your videos are way underlined ! Thanks I love the content boys!

I'm gonna get the 22/45
@@Leebeaux1 I'm betting you're gonna luv it!
Tin cans, paper targets, vermin, you see it you can hit it.
Just keep it clean!

My Dad gave me my 41 for my 14th birthday in 1964 and I still have. I think it was $75 with his police discount. Always a tack driver literally.
Great video nice s&w model 41 35 anniversary thanks for sharing Hickok45
Target pistols are fascinating. Always (most always) beautiful.
Great video. I’ve never seen one of those in the wild!
Gorgeous 22lr pistol ever made.
I have a 622 (similar action) but have always envied the 41. Great little pistols.
beautiful pieces😃😃😃
love, love, love my 41
God bless you Sir

Great video. Use my Smith Model 41 in Bullseye shooting at my local club. Great firearm. Thanks.
oh Hickok you got me all excited thinking it was 35th anniversary edition
Me too, I was like, these things have only been around for 35 years?😅
That is a really cool pistol, I didn't even know it existed until you showed it 👍 cool vid
your channel is amazing!
Thank you

Great video
Amazing Videos
The 41 22lr in my opinion is a brilliant Target 22, I also agree they are quite good looking😊
Oh man! You convinced me to buy my first 41. I remember it was an old vid. You also had a 22 revolver? Nice mammaries…
Thank you for your video. Ready for your High Standard target pistol video.
My 41 is packed in the S&W box that has "LSI" logos all over from back when Lear Siegler owned S&W.

Love John's T shirt!😂
Beautiful gun.
In 1980 I went to a Montgomery Wards store in Walnut Creek California to buy a handgun. The Wards store in my town didn't sell handguns. Nice verry powerful gun!
Bought mine new almost that long ago, nice 22. for sure.
My dad had the S&W air pistol of that same style that was produced quite a few decades ago.
Beautiful
Dre here 😮🎉
Quality 😮
Classic overlooked target blaster
love mine, extremely accurate
if I had bought one back in 1985, I would still own it, too bad I did not have the cash at the time, it was a 5 inch with all the bells and whistles, barrel weights and all the goodies in a velvet lined walnut box, and all the tools, Olympic quality, just did not have $1,200 for it!
I have heard that the model 41 is the Cadillac of 22 target pistols. Got yourself a dandy there.
I gust purchased one. Time to work on getting my distinguished pistol.
i spent 6 weeks at Bernstein Med Center in Baltimore.
From the looks of that gun, it lays around in a safe a lot.
well, my 422 shot like a full auto with hyper velocity ammo and was the most accurate with it too, Federal spitfires were the ammo of choice!
I had one of these in 1978. I think they came out shortly after the 29.
Any hints about adjusting the magazines? I have two. One is a 1971 model. The original magazine always works, but others are hit and miss. The amazing point is that a CNC barrel made a few weeks ago will fit a hand fitted receiver.
It’s a model 41!
Grand son got his great grandfathers k22 that i had. I got a pre trademark supermatic to replace it...spend the $ get the 22 target pistol.
Huray.... Hickok45 just got mentioned by Tucker Carlson while he was on stage with Dan Bongino......🎉
Thanks for tag end, John. Thanks for the Model 41 video. 7” barrel? Wow! Spring in September? Must be a different Tennessee, one in the Southern Hemisphere… Uh nope. Sorry it disappeared. UA-cam does that, now. Ridiculous.
See pinned comment.
$400 was a lot of money back then, adjusted for inflation, $400 in 1980 is $1500 now.
Look up Smith&Wesson 2206 a lesser known cousin to the 41. All stainless and a wonderful shooter!!
❤ from Pakistan
I’m looking for magazines for mine. Any tips where to shop for them please. Thank you for such a great video as always.
I settled on a 6- inch blue 422 and loved the accuracy but HATED the aluminum frame design!
Great idea to make a remake of this weapon, the last video was 4 years ago

2:30 Did you actually say, ‘There’s one on that barrel. I can barrel-y see him…’? For shame. 🤣
I had one,my BGGGEST regret selling it,will get another one,as soon as I can find one for under 500 thousand bucks😮
My Swiss made Sig P210 Target has grips like those.
Love mine

Yeah, we can still plug our sponsors; we just can't include some of the details we have in the past.

Hey @hickok45 can you possibly do a video on the smith and Wesson model 59? Me and my fiancée watch your videos together all the time and she just inherited the pistol from her grandpa
Good looking pistol for sure but MSRP over $1,700. It's not going to be in my collection anytime soon.
How accurate is it at 25 yds in a vise?
CCI clean high target ammunition work well sw41 run well high velocity target ammunition
