Thanks, buddy! I got my turf manager efficacy ratings laid out (multiple research and extension papers) and going nuts trying to decide on efficiency! You made a very valid point regarding when this product will "shine"! I'm going to restart my examination and dissect according to NEED! thanks again for your guidance! 👍🏼
I've used products with quinclorac, 2 4-D, and Diacamba with little results. Q4 is the only product that kills any weed I put it on. Even the dreaded wild onion.....love Q4.
Was looking at q4 just today and then I saw this video pop up how convenient! I have a ton of grassy weeds in my northern cool season lawn. Any suggestions for how to treat quack grass, foxtail, and clumping fescue? I have primarily kbg and fine fescue.
It might be overkill but as far as cool season grass when you did your first round of weed control in May or June I think it’s great for July and August and knock out broadleaf weeds crabgrass and nuts edge all in one tank so basically less labor and back-and-forth with three different tanks
I tried the q4 plus this past season and was not terribly impressed with the results vs the cost of the product. Also I chose to use regular surfactant instead of mso and control was very sketchy at best. Live and learn I suppose
+Velvethamma q4 is one of those some people swear by. I'm like you, not a fan. I'd rather have control over my herbicide rates individually rather than predetermined in a mix like this.
I know this video has been out there a while, but I recently bought some Image weed killer for lawns. It is Sulfentrazone and Quinclorac. I've read the label, it doesn't say anything about using a surfactant. Should I be using one, and which one? Thanks!
Hi, is this Q4 supposed to smell bad? I bought a bottle last year and I never sprayed it in my lawn because the bottle itself smells really bad. I have not even opened it and it smells really bad where ever i store it. I had it in my shed, and it stink it up then i put it outside and whenever I pass near it, I can smell it so I'm afraid to spray it in my lawn and then have a smelly lawn for weeks. How long after spraying It will it smell like How long after spraying is it safe for my kids to go out and play in the yard. Is it supposed to smell that bad or did I possibly just bought a bottle that was contaminated from another product?thank you
MM...I have some lawns with way too much crabgrass, nutgrass and spurge in them. Would Q4 be helpful to run the next few weeks in a Permagreen ? Too much to hand can it. 90° plus and dry!
Do you only reason why people would really want to use this is because if you have Nutsedge, crabgrass and broadleaf weeds it’s a lot easier for one tank to kill everything and to go back-and-forth to the truck three separate times
Hey I’m in Athens down below and was wondering how early can I put this out and is this a good pre emergent. Of course crabgrass is bad come summer but I have a customers lawn full of dandelions and this year she’s going to let me treat it. Just trying to find the best product. Thanks
+Jonboy's Lawn Service this is not a pre-emergent so it will not prevent weeds. It's post emergent and will have good broadleaf activity at a wide range of temperatures. I wouldn't use this product for dandelions though. Not very cost effective.
You stated in a previous video you should not use a surfactant when using sulfentrazone is that correct? should a mso or crop oil be used instead or just nothing?
Andy Burlison per the label, it says to not use surfactant or mso/crop oil because of the risk of injury. some people do, some people dont. I rarely run these products combined but by themselves I use crop oil (Except dismiss, I use nothing)
Matt I seeded fescue 9 days ago. I've got wild Garlic bad. When and how would you attack it? I've got Trimec and tenacity at my house. I'm in Tennessee
I've been using Q4 plus since the spring for spot treatments. I would say that 90% of the stuff I end up spraying is either crabgrass or nutsedge and it always seems like it takes two applications of Q4 to really kill it off. Is there one product that you would recommend for both types of weeds?
The Grass Factor Hello i like your videos very informative. I watched it like 4 times. So thumbs up. Is there anyway you can shoot me am example aswell of how you figure out the rates.
Nothing in particular. I live in west central Arkansas where bermuda and zoysia are the dominant grass. I'm just hesitant about adding it to my turf care plan simply because of the risk of burn and accidental over application. Just trying to gain some knowledge. I'll check out your video on it.
victor flores it definitely will. there is a chance you may not get a thorough kill during the summer months because the wild violets will harden off and not take in material. spring and fall are best
If you live an area near a farm field that is sprayed multiple times with restricted herbicides you will find you lawn weeds will eat Q4 as candy. Little effect on herbicide resistant weeds. Sorry.
Thank you for the useful information as I’m a yardie who loves a weed free yard for my wife and kids. Keep up the great work.

Did you use the Q4 or are you still debating 🤔

What if your going after all of them - crabgrass, nutsedge, buton, crabgrass, etc.
I know this video has been out there a while, but I recently bought some Image weed killer for lawns. It is Sulfentrazone and Quinclorac. I've read the label, it doesn't say anything about using a surfactant. Should I be using one, and which one? Thanks!

I get great control of crabgrass but no results for clover. I’m mixing 3 oz to 1 gallon of water with 1 oz of surfactant.
Great show.
You said it’s not that great for mature Nutsedge can you add a little sedge hammer to that mix
Not a.little, but full rate sedgehammer
Just bought home, thinking I have zoysia or Bermuda grass will it be wise to spray this or what do you recommend late June
Is there a product you can mix with Q4 at half rate to get the other the ingredients (aside from quinclorac) up closer to full strength?
MM...I have some lawns with way too much crabgrass, nutgrass and spurge in them. Would Q4 be helpful to run the next few weeks in a Permagreen ? Too much to hand can it. 90° plus and dry!
Sure if you don't want to roll your own. I'd spray pylex and super low triclopyr. Cheaper, more effective.
Do you only reason why people would really want to use this is because if you have Nutsedge, crabgrass and broadleaf weeds it’s a lot easier for one tank to kill everything and to go back-and-forth to the truck three separate times
I’ve been fighting bindweed in some of my lawns. I’ve read that quinclorac works on bindweed. Any advice would be appreciated
Fluroxypyr has good efficacy. No experience spraying it with quinclorac but I could see why it could work.
Keep up the videos brother! Very informative!

The Grass Factor what would u recommend for a pre emergent for crabgrass and dandelions
Jonboy's Lawn Service prodiamine and dithiopyre

Lespedeza spreading in South Carolina Bermuda lawn. Since you say no Q4 what do you recommend?
MSM
speedzone + msm would be even better
Mix with TENACITY/MESOTRIONE?
Matt I seeded fescue 9 days ago. I've got wild Garlic bad. When and how would you attack it? I've got Trimec and tenacity at my house. I'm in Tennessee
Coty Giles maybe mid November. Trimec is good. Use a good surfactant
The Grass Factor thanks Matt!
Do you know if Siteone Landscapes sells straight 24d or Dicamba? I want to start making my own like you. Great content and videos btw!
+Bry Ski yes they do. Be very very very careful with dicamba. It can kill trees quickly at very low rates
Would you say making your own mix is cheaper?
Can you do Q4 Plus vs 4-Speed XT
Awesome breakdown my man. It seems like a great product, very pricey though
Great video, awesome info !
can you use MSO methylated seed oil????
Can you mix this with MSO to this?

What grass type?
The Grass Factor tall fescue
Cory Gibson I would run pylex or last call for crab and dismiss for sedge. Not a combo product like Q4 or Solitaire
The Grass Factor thanks!
Cory Gibson How many ounces of Q4 plus per gallon of water please will you let me know
How are you guys not riddled with cancer. I just used eagle and There’s something about products that smell horrible that always worries me.
read the label and use proper PPE
GREAT INFO THANK YOU!!
Which product do you recommend me to use or the best herbicide to do the job against wild violets
+victor flores q4 is great, 4 speed is great.
+victor flores keep in mind it will take multiple applications
How did you determine what the rate amounts for each A.I. was in this?
foxcomputertech lbs AI on label and percentage of AI on label
Any way you could give me an example, like how you found the sulfentrazone amount?
foxcomputertech shoot me an email and I'll send you a picture of the math
The Grass Factor Hello i like your videos very informative. I watched it like 4 times. So thumbs up. Is there anyway you can shoot me am example aswell of how you figure out the rates.
You got a sub to your channel with this breakdown!
Very informative video and great breakdown. Any way you can do one on water soluble urea? 46-0-0
Joe Spinas I did a video about urea previously. anything in particular about water soluble urea?
Nothing in particular. I live in west central Arkansas where bermuda and zoysia are the dominant grass. I'm just hesitant about adding it to my turf care plan simply because of the risk of burn and accidental over application. Just trying to gain some knowledge. I'll check out your video on it.
Great vid.
Great Info. Thanks
Can anyone let me know how many ounces of Q4 plus per gallon of water how to do the mixture
3 oz per gallon
new subscriber but I'm only a home owner, but great video really helps me out. thanks
Great Video 🖒
Is it true that this product works really well on wild violets?
victor flores it definitely will. there is a chance you may not get a thorough kill during the summer months because the wild violets will harden off and not take in material. spring and fall are best
I like to throw in a little msm in with it plus some surfactant 👌
If you live an area near a farm field that is sprayed multiple times with restricted herbicides you will find you lawn weeds will eat Q4 as candy. Little effect on herbicide resistant weeds. Sorry.
msma?
Matt Davis MSMA is no longer labeled for turfgrass aside for sod farms and golf course in very small amounts. it's illegal to use.
Q4 is very expensive
