When playing music real bands can't stop no matter how many final tours, it's basically all they know in life they will not sit home when they can play and do what they enjoy, it's not the songs, it's not the people, it's not the money cause older rockers still rockin don't need money, they do it because that's what they have enjoyed and get use to it. More than that kieth really put his self thru hell with drugs he's really incredible, to be able to do what he wants...

Keith Richards is almost 80 years old and looks like ... and 80 year old man. He's the exact opposite of everyone else on this list. Dude has done so much drugs and alcohol for so long, it's amazing he's alive and still functioning the way he is.

I've continued to see Vince Neil live. Only because his drummer, Zoltan Chaney, is phenomenal! Seriously, the guy is like the human version of Animal from the Muppets. Honestly, the only reason I keep going these days.

You know who else has deep wrinkles and sunken eyes? Literally everyone at age 80. He's held up remarkably well for his age. There aren't many 80 year olds I know that can do a multi continent 100 date stadium tour.

I went to a G'n'R show one or two years ago and it was an awesome gig. I'm not that much into big stadiums cause the sound is always somewhat detached but they killed it. Axl was running around for basically 3 hours and his singing did justice to the old days. I'm 27 and probably can't do what he did - I'm not even a die hard Guns fan but I got nothing but respect for them.

I endured the former of these two forms of "pain" for the first 17 years of my life (until I was hit by a car & then spent more than 18 months recovering from my injuries, which ended my previous dreams of being a pro' tennis player) & the latter of the two forms of pain over the past 33 years, so almost exactly double the amount of regret vs discipline...
They always use Vince Neil as a poster child for artists that let themselves go. They touch on the manslaughter accident and loss of friend, then heavy drinking in 92, then jump ahead to 97 and say he let himself go so bad you couldn’t recognize him. He’s always the butt of all these pie eating jokes. But no mention of losing his 4 year old daughter in 95. The guy has been through shit. Probably more than most of us could ever grasp. People get so caught up in wanting to know of the fast life, but not the marriages. They expect rock stars to be some modelesque idol and forget they are real people who somehow managed push themselves to keep going, and still went out and toured for fans, took efforts to better himself. So yeah, maybe he partied a lot when he was young, made some mistakes, like many of us. But after all the tragedy, depression and weight gain, at least he still never gave up. He outlasted many

Excellent perspective. Appreciate you looking through a lens of reality and sharing. Everyone has struggles. Some are more publicized than others. Vince and the Crue brought me a lot of happiness in the 80s and early 90s. I am grateful for that.

I’ll tell you what’s nuts- is Corey Taylor looks the same in his early 50’s as he did 30 years ago, and he’s done more hard drugs and alcohol, than even most celebrities. And to be fair, Hetfeild is like 60 now, and Ozzy Ousborne is like 75 at least, which is generally when the average Caucasian male dies. A lot of rockstars did drugs in the younger days which kept them skinny. As they age and get off drugs their appetite comes back. Now that their appetite is back they start the gain weight.

Axl Rose was unhealthy as hell for 15-20 years or so, it wasn’t truly & honestly until reuniting with Duff & Slash that Rose started actually trying again, in every way, dietary being the noticeable thing, however even vocally you can tell he gives a damn & has been sounding ALOT better & I haven’t heard of any riots started since GN’R partially reunited (sans Izzy & Steven).
I am actually disappointed Keith is on this list. The beautiful thing about him is that, at his age, he smiles like he isn’t old at all.
Vince Neil also lost a daughter to cancer at a very young age. I realize these guys were partying, boozing and drugging it up to excess back in their prime but having endured a loss like that is unfathomable and I sympathize with the guy. We all get old and they are a great band.
