If something makes you laugh or just smile...it is worth doing it. if someone buys them because they make them laugh or smile....then you have made part of this world a happier place. Priceless!
❤. Watching anyone useca lathe is so relaxing. I almost burned my breakfast because i couldnt pull my eyes away from the screen. Lucky for me my nose works faster than my brain. Lol
I just subscribe to you and can honestly say you my freind are most happy woodworker i have ever experienced and do great work. Thank you for being an inspiration to people ...keep it up.
I noticed in the background you have a rigid table saw looked like the one with the granite top. If so , I have the same one hope you like yours the same as I do. Enjoyed watching have fun making your gnomes. I sell mine at the local farmers market. Jim's wood shop.😀
@@jimschaffer9831 it's not the granite top, but it's served me well for quite a while and certainly isn't high on my list of things to upgrade. Thanks for watching!
You’re awesome! You love what you do and that’s the point! Great job! You’re my inspiration! For instance you spell them right! In Scandinavia they are gnomes with a G!
Hey Mike! Nice "G"nome! LOL. No more pounding iron? Me too... I'm turning bowls and such just for fun now. The old blacksmith shop is gone now open air cold storage now. K&M no more. Shrug time goes on huh. My best to you and yours.
Think you may have me mistaken for someone else, because I've never done any blacksmithing. Thanks for watching, though. And for the nice words. All the best to you and yours, as well.
@@WoodenThingsAndStuff My mistake. You have a left handed twin about your age near me, if he's still around, and he too is a skilled craftsman of many trades. If I bump into Mike M. I'll have him check your sites out, I'm sure he will agree and get a chuckle that there is an uncanny resemblance... LOL. Anyhow, I enjoyed your humor and work. So... Shoulder to the grindstone and keep the wind to your back Mike.
Just starting to wood turn and I kept questioning in my head why do people start with square blocks when its so easy to remove the corners on the saw and get an octagonal blank which would take far less chippings to get to round stock. You have at least shown it to be a sensible thing to do. thanks
Indeed! And we all need to remember this more often. It's great to make things we NEED, but once in a while it's nice to make something because it's FUN.
@@WoodenThingsAndStuff ~ Some more than others, I spent nearly three hours this morning fine tuning a Stanley #45 for a plow cut for some drawer bottoms. Could have had the setup and cuts done in 25 minutes on the router table… but what’s the fun in that? I got to listen to the wood fibers actually being cut and I got to smell the pitch of the wood without doing untold damage to my lungs! Three hours vs 25 minutes… I know… crazy!
Yeah I've noticed that 😂. But seriously, why be boring like everybody else when you can be unique and sophisticated? I have found your channel recently and really enjoy it! Your projects and your tool collection are very relatable. 👍

Both of these things happened from this project, which makes me even happier. Thanks for checking it out!
@@WoodenThingsAndStuff.... Merry Christmas to you and your family sir. Keep the world smiling...we need it.
I love how much joy you got from making them. Thats all the reason you need for making them.
Exactly right!
I made some a last week. There great on the dashboard of the car. And yes they make people smile
Bring joy!
I just started making gnomes .Like you it isn't about money . its about fun. AND it does help to improve our skill levels. Thanks!! Great job!!
Thanks very much. And I totally agree.

i make little bird house and going to make some nomes. I enjoy just giving the away to people who visit and tag on birthday and Christmas presents.
The fact you enjoy it is all the reason you need. Good on ya!
You gave a great reason to make GA-nomes... because it makes you laugh, & that gave me a big smile. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!

They make me smile, too. Thanks for watching.
Do what makes ya happy!!!! Nice job .keep ‘‘em coming 👍😇
You know it!
The fact that they make you laugh is reason enough for making them 🤩
Agreed.
If I could like this a second time a year later I would. I need to try this. I have all the stuff from a year ago. I need some Gah-Nomes myself. 😂
I'll do one on the live show one of these weeks to help give people the confidence to try it. I'm live every Saturday at 5:45-ish pacific time.

So sweet! Loved this video and what a great lesson to teach your son!💛

Looks like a fun project. Excellent job
It was!
The countdown is cool
Ugh....can't believe I mis-scheduled this and missed my own damn premier.
@@WoodenThingsAndStuff yeah I think I should have gone fishing lol 😆
I left after a minute thirty seconds to find someone who knew what they were doing...😂😂😂
That was probably for the best.
@WoodenThingsAndStuff I actually stayed and today I decided to sub you
Very funny video Thanks
Wtr thoooooooose!
Haha very cool. Those would make excellent Christmas ornaments!
Might do some that are hollowed out a bit so they're light enough to hang on the tree!

I don't always do it, but sometimes it makes sense, time-wise, as well as being easier on the turning tools.
Great fun. Much better for me than watching the depressing daily news
Yeah...I try to have fun while I'm doing the thing I do for fun. Hahaha
Just for fun look up Nisse (Nordic gnomes)
Respect on the beard my man. First time your channel has popped up. Love the content. Subscribed before I even finished the video.
Welcome aboard!
Thanks for the video! I have a ganome on my lathe as I write this…Sometimes we make things…Well, because we can!!

Yes very labor intensive but dang they are so flipping cute! 💯
Right?!
Nice work you have done.
Thanks!
But i want one with your kind of beard on it! At least get some shetland wool that is nice and curly!
Maybe this November! Hahaha. Thanks for watching.
Brilliant, love the video and love the g-nomes 😁 always makes me laugh as well 😆
Thanks. They're pretty fun!
OK, I LOVE THE GNOMES... I WILL MAKE SOME JUST BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE SO MUCH FUNNN.....
Do it!
I think you might be a little crazy! I love it! Just subscribed!!!
Aren't we all a little crazy? Haha

@@sdvidal2121 I BOUGHT a Stanley 45 just cuz I found one at a good price and thought "I'm gonna use this to cut 1/4" grooves for drawer bottoms!"

love your G-noms
Thanks! Me too!
These are quite intriguing. I prefer your pronunciation method, far more sophisticated. Good work man!

Thanks man! Gonna need another batch for Xmas market this year!
Great video great job enjoyed it thx for sharing Be safe
Thanks, Larry!
Very nice video. Thank you.
Thanks very much!
I make those also. I make them in one piece though.
There's an idea. Less messing around with glue and drill bits, etc....Maybe I'll try some this fall.
What a good idea I’m going to make a chess set like
Your video was great thanks for sharing
Thanks very much!
