  • This is a re-edit of a video I made last year around this time that I took down because it had copyright issues with its Christmas music. Hope you enjoy it!
    Here's the link to Rebecca DeGroot's video of making these. She's way better than me, but I think I did okay for a first try.

      @@WoodenThingsAndStuff ~ Some more than others, I spent nearly three hours this morning fine tuning a Stanley #45 for a plow cut for some drawer bottoms. Could have had the setup and cuts done in 25 minutes on the router table… but what’s the fun in that? I got to listen to the wood fibers actually being cut and I got to smell the pitch of the wood without doing untold damage to my lungs! Three hours vs 25 minutes… I know… crazy!

    Just starting to wood turn and I kept questioning in my head why do people start with square blocks when its so easy to remove the corners on the saw and get an octagonal blank which would take far less chippings to get to round stock. You have at least shown it to be a sensible thing to do. thanks

    • @WoodenThingsAndStuff
      @WoodenThingsAndStuff  Рік тому

      I don't always do it, but sometimes it makes sense, time-wise, as well as being easier on the turning tools.
