Oh dear, my Wife will love you for giving me even more excuse not to throw away the scraps! Such a simple and obvious idea ... but I hadn't thought of it!! Thank you for the idea, and hours of fun ahead of me 🙂
Just when I thought I could through my scraps away to begin cleanup of the garage, you come up with this great idea to use them. I’ve gotten several scraps from Cherry burl bowl blanks that this method would “bring to life”. Thanks for the idea….kinda😊
Hi Mike, great video and I love the idea of reusing cuttoffs and scraps to make ornaments! I am new to wood turning, less than a year experience, so I was wondering the purpose of sanding sealer? Also, did you use wood glue or CA glue to attach the finials?
Great! Thanks for the quick response. I showed my wife the ornaments and now she wants me to make them for Christmas gifts so I'll be working on the lathe for the next days.
Thank you, for some new ideas & more inspiration. I particularly enjoyed the wide view (minutes 5-8 ) & seeing the intent pleasure in your expressions as you worked. p.s. What brand of faceshield do you use ?

Thanks Lee! I have to do some serious soul searching before I burn a piece of wood.

Thank you Mark! Sanding sealer is actually shellac. I use that, then apply wax on the top. I do use CA glue to apply my finials.

Good job Mike. Took me a second to figure out why your hands were so orange lol
