    I just want to thank you so much for doing these videos. I've been doing my research trying to determine if I should invest in DTG. or DTF..and this has helped me tremendously make my decision. I haven't felt comfortable pushing my work with the equipment I have now, and want to kick it up a notch without bleeding my pockets completely. so this is for sure a winner. Again, thank you brother Allan for posting. I appreciate you.

    • @adubbproductions
      @adubbproductions  Рік тому +1

      There is no definitive answer. You might print more than me and vice versa. If you run your printer everyday and from 9am- 5pm vs running it once a day for an hour vs once every three days. They last enough to far exceed the cost of the inks in profits if you are selling. That’s what matters to me. You are gonna have to replace them and the price might seem expensive but relative to the money you should have made it’s cheap. Most people are gonna say the ink is expensive because they probably are not selling enough or they spent their profits outside of their business instead of using it to run and grow their business.

    I just went to the imprint show and saw it. It's an ok printer but I wouldn't buy it. The machine is to slow and it only has one printhead plus I don't like how the white looks on the transfer. It's true for the price point you won't find nothing cheaper but it's just way to slow. It's a entry level DTF and it's not realistic to say your going sell transfer with this machine basically the same thing he said in the video. Great review great video.

  • @cardinalorganiccarpetclean6179

    Is it true you have to print something every day or run this risk of the print heads clogging? This is only a good idea if you already have some kind of steady flow of print jobs. I made the sad mistake of buying an SG1000 to find out DTF is more the finish I'd like to have. Especially with the option to print white. I'm upset with the SG1000 purchase but that's my fault for not researching it better. This looks like something I'd rather have..but I am just starting out and I don't have business lined up in a way that I gotta print shirts everyday. At least not yet.
    I see that you are very pleased with the results..but this is UA-cam im sure there's another side....the maintenance.

      No, but i don’t mean that in a bad way. I will still be using it for my business. The order is screen print, dtg very close second, dtf, white toner ( but white toner can do hard surfaces like cups and plates) Sublimation is actually the best but you are limited to sublimating onto white items (for best results) that are made for sublimation. I’m still getting the entire powder shaker system though, i like dtf a lot.

    • @bhutch216

      White Toner Printers are a complete scam. The washability is a few washes but they will start cracking and peeling after the first wash. The media is ridiculously expensive and hard to get a good transfer every time. There a so many steps for it to fail. I run a print group and about 1500 of our members own a white toner printer. Maybe a dozen of them still use it. Comes out to $8-9 a print when you have to restock. Paper is $3 sheet. Maybe 75% of the time you’ll get a good print, then 50% of those will marry with the adhesive correctly and then 75% will transfer to the garment properly. So expect 20-30 shirts out of the 100 pack of paper. Toner cartridges will last less than 1000 pages (even the 7000 page capacity) and that’s $1300 to replace those. Fuser will burn out after 1500 pages (not 90,000). Those are $350. Just complete money pits that these companies keep selling. There’s a class action lawsuit against them. And you won’t find any bad reviews because the companies remove everything. I have personally received cease and desist letters from Ricoma, Coldesi, garment Printer Ink, and Coastal Business supplies.

    • @adubbproductions
      @adubbproductions  Рік тому +1

      I think I like this method better for making shirts as well as transfers but if you plan on making cups and plates and other hard surface printing white toner would be good. White toner is also no maintenance at all. You can leave it sit for months and come back and it will work fine, you don’t have to worry about ink drying etc. and with the hard surface paper you can put art in wood and all types of different substrates. I have white toner shirts that I’ve made and if don’t correctly they last a ton of washes. Everyone hasn’t had the Sam experience but I believe white toner still has its place. If I had to choose between the two and could only have one i would say dtf because It easier to make the transfers and has a lower price point and the feel is better on a shirt. Each method has its place in my opinion. I’m gonna make a hard surface paper white toner video soon. I’ve been meaning to.
      The white toner cartridges are expensive upfront but if you divide it by the amount of prints you get it’s actually less expensive than dtf ink. Plus you don’t have to worry about waste and ink drying. My shirts did not stack or peel after many washes. 8 don’t have a single white toner shirt that has cracked or peeled. Transfers are difficult to make at first but after a while it’s easy. When starting off, very difficult. Lol not gonna lie. Idk. Overall I’d say dtf still. The feel of white toner on a shirt is the real issue but dtf has a comparable feel.

      That’s interesting because my experience has been different. I’m in North Dakota right now I just left me printer and I’m pretty sure it with be fine when I get back. I went to Lake Tahoe a few weeks ago and left it sitting hit back dvd it was fine. I didn’t prepare it or did anything to it. Just left it sitting came ba k and it works just fine. So to me i have no idea what maintenance they are referring to. I literally lid t do anything to maintain it. As long as you leave the back switch on so the white ink agitation system can work you shouldn’t have a problem. I’ve stored prints for months and came back and pressed them so maybe those issues are printer specific and maybe not a dtf in general issue.
