I always thought those 300s sounded best at the higher rpm with exhaust than the lower rpm. Thanks for sharing the open header ride! The tip looks real good the way you have it.
By design, inline 6 engines are aren't usually high in stock horsepower but generally very tough engines. The Ford 300 ci truck engine, Jeep/Chrysler 4.0L, and Ford 200/250 ci inline passenger car sixes were known for reliability. I don't know much about GM inline 6's, but I'm sure they had a few good ones that were produced for several years. I love the older F series, it's hard to find a bare bones work truck with no power windows/door locks and a manual transmission these days.

My 92 f150 302 sounds pretty good idling with shorty headers and gt40p heads
